Proxy Chat would be so sick
I know it's not on the agenda, but it would take away the need to buff solo q with in game info tags and stuff. Like just make it where of you are within 8 meters of someone they hear you talk. And then killers wouls hear you if you are within 10 meters of them. Like Friday 13th basically.
Obviously it's more than that, adding an in game party system is probably to time consuming for bhvrs agenda, bit it would be super sick. Obviously private parties would counter this, but it's still a cool option.

Yeah, sick. But literally.

How come it was bad in Friday? It seemed like a good addition.

Ehmmm... I am 100% in for buffing Solo Q but this is big no from me.
Not only it would be quite a big nerf for killers (it would make everyone more close to SWF level of coop and info), where the weaker killers would suffer the most (Trapper being even more garbage), but I don't like voice chat in games anyway. I would turn it off 24/7.
I like the idea of above each Survivor icon there would be something like "I am doing gen now", "I go rescue", "I am being chased", etc.

I forgot about how toxic this community is. Ig getting slurred out wouldn't be fun. I'm rethinking this now lmao

Because you can't control what comes out of people's mouths. You have to opt out and put yourself at a massive disadvantage (as coordination is now an expectation), or opt in and have to put up with the sheer enthusiasm that the nearby person getting chased is verbalizing. People ruin games enough as it is.

I can already hear the T Bagging survivors at the exit gates...

I think a ping system similar to Evil Dead would be better, you can't get slurs thrown at you that way

I kinda wish we at least had an option to play with other ppl using it, or to at least toggle it

Balancing solo survivor with voice chat to make them equal to SWF is not possible - you have to take into consideration that not everyone speaks English as a first language, or wants to communicate. European servers covers a lot of different languages as do servers in other regions of the world...so immediately you're putting players at a disadvantage.

Proximity chat always leads to verbal abuse & trolling of some kind. Some gamers will love it no matter what.
I've never been a fan of proximity chat, and I would literally stop playing DbD if proximity chat was added.

Even if you had the option to disable it? I probably wouldn't ever use it if it was an option for the same reasons but I don't see why it couldn't eventually become an option. A lot of other PvP games have a voice chat of some kind with the option to disable it if you don't want to use it or hear others. Then again a lot of killer mains complain about SWF and if DBD did have a voice chat option in game a lot more matches would probably end up feeling more like a SWF so theres that.

Games that have proximity chat will have people blasting you for having them on mute in post-game chat. As much as I'd love for proximity chat being disabled to be a solution, it just leads to new problems.
DbD also has gameplay that is mostly straight-forward and as a player moves up in MMR their teammates usually know what to do without communication.

Thats just the nature of online gaming. There would have to be a lot more moderation involved if it were an option though. Since the game is pretty straight forward something like a communication wheel would probably be a better idea. SWF would never use it but it would probably improve the overall solo que experience.
