Surge in false reports will be fun!
Just got reported for letting a survivor with a personality have hatch. Great.

I think it's unlikely that they would actually report you for that. Even if they do, it's even more unlikely that BHVR will do anything.

Why would you think that? Just a press of two buttons and eagerly waiting for report feedback to come isn't anything too crazy when it comes to jealousy. Hard to say what BHVR will do with all the reports if you can't even attach videos/screenshots via the in-game reporting system to show the only forms of evidence.

I've jumped in Twitch streamers' streams right as the game ended when I was their killer to say gg just to catch them reporting me. Some people have naturally started reporting killers/survivors they don't like for no other reason than them not having fun.
Good news is, nothing will come of it. Enjoy their seethe and move on.

I had a game as Pig where one of the survivors was called Boop The Snoot, so naturally I decided to play a chill game. I intended to 2-hook everyone then let them all escape and giving everyone a chance to boop.
Cue Steve who decides to kill himself on hook, and message me to say he's reporting me and Boop The Snoot for working together.

I think being accused of working together would be the most worrying risk of getting unfairly banned. If everyone is just having fun and being silly, someone could report me for pointing at a locker with a survivor in. If I let someone live because their team-mate is hiding, then thats a report too when I find and kill the survivor. It just takes someone having a bad day at BHVR and we could be banned. They are only human and anyone can make a mistake.

I wouldn't worry, people have been false reporting since reporting was a thing. Nothing comes of it. I've been told I've been reported in post game chat hundreds of times for little reasons such as giving people hatch, dropping my item in attempt to ask for mercy, hell even flashlight saving. I've never been banned. I've played with/against hackers who claim they've never been banned despite hacking for weeks. I'm fairly confident that if actual hackers don't get banned, then victims of babyrage reporting wont get banned either.

I played a Legion game last night on Midwich where I 4k-ed and one of the survivors said they were going to report me for griefing/tunneling.
I finished the game with 11 hooks and this survivor was the third person to die.

The way to report hasn't changed, nor has the action we take.
What did change is that now when you make a report you get feedback on that report - it will give you what you reported (so unsportsmanlike for example) plus the date that action was taken. Players still need to provide evidence that the game rules were broken. So those worried that they are being mass reported, please do not worry. If you've not done anything against the game rules - you will not be punished, the volume of the reports is irrelevant, evidence is the most important thing.
