Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Prioritizing game bugs would be better than this

Screenshot 2025-06-02 172013.png

A patch to fix skins not in the game yet when we have how many killers currently bugged? Constant performance issues? I can't even play against Dracula or Venca without my game dropping frames every time they use their power. Huntress' hatchets disappear. Artist is nearly unplayable. Twins unplayable. Like we get yall held off on content for 3 weeks for "quality of life changes" but all the bugs are being overlooked constantly. It's getting really frustrating with every patch it's "ok what is now bugged? what bugs have come back?" These are the quality of life updates I want.

If you have information on Twins bugs that need to be addressed, please use the Bug Reporting forums and follow the template. We would love to get everything under investigation if you have videos or logs available.

Just a reminder that not all bugs are created equal.

Some are easy to fix and take a few seconds, some are hard to fix and can take hours or even days.

For some the causes are pretty obvious, others the cause is very subtle and hard to spot.

Some fixes can be applied with confidence there will be no knock on effects, others can have quite substantial effects on numerous interactions.

Some can be really easy to reproduce almost every single time, others can work correctly 1000 times and only fail once.

We have nearly 40 different killer powers with 20 add-ons a piece, interacting with 120ish perks for both killers and survivors each, on numerous configurations of maps and spawns, and an infinite number of input combinations and scenarios from the 5 players. Things like this take millions of lines of code, and the number of possible states the game can be in to potential cause issues is impossible to calculate.

I'm not implying the state of bugs in DBD is great... but its hardly surprising given the amount of interactions and content in this game. Complaining about which bugs get fixed over others is a little naive to say the least.

It is kinda pointless to report bugs. Whenever I did it, they remain under review and nothing changed until now. I did it multiple times and it always ended that way. The reports weren‘t closed, acknowledged or fixed. There were also no questions on how to better discribe the bug. They just got ignored everytime.

Unfortunately, bugs can be addressed and return in later patches. Reporting is essential for us to be able to track them. Videos and logs still remain the best way to communicate these bugs, and here on the Forums is the best way for us to keep of them. I understand your frustration with ongoing issues and respect your decision whether or not you report them here. However, without logs, videos, and bug reports, there isn't much I can do.

My problem mainly is that they always get ignored whenever I report them. Other reports in the section get closed, confirmed as not a bug, some attention from community managers, listed as fix upcoming or need more info, but with my reports I never get any type of feedback. They are just left alone there. I know you aren‘t the person in charge, but it feels bad to never get any type of feedback that others get.

Under review for months no update.

It’s still under review for months without any type of change while affecting sadako very much in a negative way.

This is probably not a bug and intended, but it should have been closed if it isn‘t one.

This one is partially fixed, which is why I made the new one up there, but it is still under review and nothing changed to closed or fixed.

Just another reminder that the whole game's coding needs to be addressed.

We don't need 20 add ons per killer when about 5 are used most often on any given killer. Plus how some of these add ons can be affected by perks.

We don't need 3 different tiers for every single perk. Removing tiers 1 and 2 can lessen the load in the coding dramatically.

Removing the different variations of maps I think is a step in improving this. Yeah it's just maps but taking anything out of the coding can help.

I 100% understand some bugs can be found and fixed easier than others. However, cosmetics do not effect game play (for the most part, Were-Elk Skin, Tomie skin i'm looking at you). I really think these things should be put on the back burner as fixes and focus on bugs that are effecting gameplay. Yeah i get people are spending money on these cosmetics but unless they are limited time, why are we working on fixes for these?

There was bugs pointed out in the PTB that did not get fixed in the PTB window. More so I'm talking about the new 2 person end game mori scenario that was not working as intended. While I am hoping they are fixing and addressing this bug prior to release, it's just things like this I wish wouldn't become bugged to begin with, or tested prior to the PUBLIC test build so the public can give proper feedback. Or noted that it is currently not working as intended in the patch notes.

Every patch has become a "hmmm i wonder what bugs are in the game this time" rather than "yay new content!"

This fix was probably nothing to do with code but maybe a particular material/texture file needed replacing or was accidentally missing - something that can probably be patched in quickly because it can bypass Microsoft and Sony's testing phase? I dunno, just guessing.

And/or a fix that can be done by the art team and not require an actual gameplay programmer or engine programmer to get involved.

Could this be looked at too please? Despite the title, it's not platform specific as I've had it happen on Steam, seen others on Steam experience it, and even PS5 players. It's something to do with the controller handling. I was watching a streamer two nights ago who experienced this bug.
