Voice chat
come on devs, its been a decade, bridge the gap of soloq and swfs with in game voice chat and text chat. DBD is not some fringe indie game anymore. What have you guys been doing? Whats the point of keeping it out of your game when SWFs just party up in discord anyway? Is it a technical issue or a design choice. Either answer is honesty unacceptable and unsatisfactory for 2025

Glad to see all these posts about it, dbd mobile had a comm wheel with pre made messages meanwhile the main game is struggling to add something like that for solo q for some unknown reason

Im all for the mobile comm wheel. But voice chat in solo que would be hell on earth

I'm fine with comms. The issue is that the players are terrified of it and BHVR wouldn't want to moderate it. I hear all kinds of reasons, but I think that's the core of it.

I agree with you 100% voice comms is not the way to go but something like dbd mobile had is desperately needed for solo q

There is no plan to put voice comms natively in the game, not because of tech limitations but through choice.

I would really want to see chat wheel, but voice/text chat would make soloQ worse in my opinion.

What about adding a dbd mobile sort of comm wheel to the game with pre made messages/ call outs, is that something that is not added to the game by choice or is it due to limitations? 🙏

It didn't even just have that, quick match had an actual optional VC feature with a voice changer. Though Netease released this feature in the mode where it mattered less, VC would have been more useful in ranked, which in mobile actually affects your MMR and not just your monthly BP

Will you guys ever officially recognize Clock Callouts as a method of finding teammates on the HUD? This could fix so much if it was visible to solo queue players and survivors who want to learn effective locating and communication.

Then it would just need to be moderated like every other game's VC feature. Fortnite I know has an anti slur filter that delays your teammate's comms to filter out potentially bad words, but this shouldn't apply to dbd for the most part since its a mature game anyway. (I mean basic generic slurs, not racism or bigotry, that should definitely be filtered out or banned for instantaneously if detected)

I've been telling everyone. A voice chat and comm system would make the game a lot more fun and interactive. Plus would solve a lot of issues. Heck if they had communication I'd be ok with BHVR scrapping this silly pallet update and anti camp/tunnel/slug update. Its not needed if theres some form of communication.

can we get an explanation why? It’s always that you guys chose not to do it.

I myself don't want ingame voice chat. It might be one thing that would make want to stop playing as I have no interest of listening someone telling me what I am doing wrong while I play its already enough to see it in the end game chat. When most of the time they don't even know what they are talking about anyway but it would be annoying to have to listen to that during a match.
Just to note that its rare this happens but it has happened quite many times and usually they have no connection to what really even happened in the match. Some people just think they know better how this game should be played.

I'm telling you, I really think it boils down to not wanting to moderate it on BHVR's end. They'll tell you it's about the atmosphere or something like that, but it's more likely that they don't want a clip circulating online of someone shouting a slur. In my opinion of course.

Reporting for the most part should require the Reporting player to prove what happened, not BHVR going back into the match's in game VC. All platforms can easily clip the game at the moment someone were to speak with ill intent.

I'd be fine with a ping/callout system like the mobile version had, but I would never use VC in a game like DbD.

im all for comms for the game, but as others have said, there are too many people that dont know how a mute button works so comms will never happen in dbd.

Than only files recorded within the app or game will be accepted. File names when recording within dbd start with "dead by daylight" and then the date. Your editing device can recognize when you've edited or changed a file format, so the devs can just state that they must be recorded in game (like with steam or psn screen record) and they'll know if it's edited otherwise
