Do you think the cooldown on Demogorgan's power is enough?
My main concern is that he will be able to use his teleport to hold the last three gens hostage. I know he has a short cooldown, but I don't know how effective it is since I can't play the PTB. Can anyone who has played against him tell me?

People who played the ptb, seem to agree that his portals are underwhelming.
Let's wait until it's released and wr try it ourselves

Yeah, I don't judge a killer's power before I play it myself. As long as his power can't be used to hold the game hostage, I'm fine

The portals take a long time to place and activate, and can be dismantled. I tried to do a three gen hostage but it doesn’t work as well as you’d think

portals are hot garbage... it's even worse than freddy's teleport.

I can't see it being too effective for that. You can already patrol three very close generators without portals anyway. The portals would only really come into play if one of the remaining generators is far away from the others, but at that point, the cooldown prevents you from going back and forth too quickly. You can teleport one way, but you'll have to walk back the other way.
As far as three gens goes, Doctor or Hag would be much more effective at it.

Thats already happening especially with speed addons. if nothing is done and this will go live we get the next dc-epidemic for sure. so, we just can pray something willb e changed to prevent that.

The cooldown is way too low for a strong power.

I never knew it went anywhere. I played five games the other day and four had at least one person DC. These people are entitled and will quit over anything they find challenging. The dedicated servers getting ironed out is the only thing that will cut down on DCs.

I highly doubt that we will get a dc-epidemic because of Demogorgon.

He can't break his own portals so if you 3 gen and most of his portals are scattered he can't do anything

This is not "hostage".
Its simple the 3 gen tactic.
And its the survivors fault, if they 3 gen themself.
And btw he cooldown is too high for the 3 gen tactic and survivor can destroy his portals.

As long as the person is willing to keep playing, then it becomes a hostage situation (for me at least). The gens simply will NOT get done in the right layout, and the only thing you can do is DC. Any scenario where you can't make ANY progress whatsoever due to the other side is a hostage scenario in my book. Yes, they did it to themselves, but there is a difference. People don't deserve to have time wasted due to the killer being so hell bent on gen time just because they did gens in a certain order.

That is a good point. Hopefully that doesn't change. It'll add some skill to him considering you'll have to think about where you want to place your portals.

This. Protecting gens is one thing, but I've seen a killer straight up refuse to pick someone up or even chase them because they are so worried about gens.

It shouldn't even have a cooldown to begin with. He's a laughing stock.

Now allow me to ask, have you actually played as him yourself? If so, what seems to be the biggest problems that you are having. I've seen multiple people say they love him.

I understand not chasing someone, it's obvious bait.
Not picking someone up and hooking them next to a gen is just giving up pressure

It's a 14 second cooldown. Shorter than any other similar ability, but longer than it would take to destroy a portal although only slightly. If 2 or more Survivors coordinate, which is plausible for solo's to do in this particular case unlike with other similar situations, then it's not that difficult to break a deadlock.

Yeah, but apparently some people don't know how to pressure correctly. All they care about is making sure people aren't on gens at that point. Nothing else. Not hooks, or hits, or points.

I could say the same thing about survivor.
Its holding the game hostage, because they arent doing gens.
Or......
Its holding the game hostage, if the last 2 survivor arent doing gens and they camping the hatch.
So both sides can say, that the other side is holding the hostage.
I just simple say, its a game tactic and nobody hold the hostage.

I view the hatch thing as a hostage situation as well. As long as their is more than one survivor left, someone should be attempting to do a gen. Not both sitting in a corner waiting for the other to die. Guess personal opinion is what truly determines what is a hostage situation for the player.

The cooldown is low. The counter to it is that's it's not actually a strong power. It's not best used to patrol, it's better for checking gates than gens if you insist on it.
Demogorgon is yet another killer who can be completely neutered by survivor awareness, he's really not a comparative threat.

THe only smart thing i can think of using the portals is to hide the portal somewhere close to a gen.. like behind a tree or a rock and surprise them in that timeframe when you teleport where you don't have a terror radius after popping out a hole... since they can't see you popping out as well it could work sometimes for a surprise attack
