About the nurse addon rework..
Comments
-
Plaid Flannel should never have been anything higher than a Common. There is zero reason it shouldn't be changed to a common regardless of the base kit.
1 -
Imagine getting this angry because someone disagrees, jesus.
3 -
A character popularity doesn't make her stronger.
Making her easier to play does.
2 -
I agree with this. Do actual changes, don't just buff her.
1 -
That 3rd Add-on seems cool.
0 -
Not if it's not changing the in-game properties of the add-on itself.
0 -
What are you more likely to come across in your bloodweb?
A common or an Ultra?
0 -
She desperately needed an addon improvement... she was one of the few killers that still had wording that didnt really make sense and a lot of the addons hindered her performance more then help.... which unless you gain more BP like the speed limiter chainsaw does.... why would you wanna hinder your own performance.... that doesnt make sense....
Just because a character is strong and challenges oppenent doesnt mean they need nerf.... it means the competition needs to adapt and get better if their struggling
0 -
Not in this case. This addon improves a players understanding of the character mechanics, the character stays the same.
And good nurses, don't need it anyway.
3 -
Does not matter, as whether Plaid Flannel is a Common, Ultra Rare, or Zendikar Expedition Rare makes no difference in a trial.
2 -
... Are you saying that the strongest killer in the game needed these buff without ANY nerfs to compensate that she'll become easier to play?
0 -
You haven't really given any real explanation as to why it's a buff?..... the one range addon got a drawback to it and rightfully so, why haven't you mentioned that? I hope they don't make her easier to play because the amazing thing about her is the reward that she gives for learning her.... if this is all about the one very rare to common then you're being silly........ players will still when they take the training wheel off.
2 -
It isn't a buff. If players start using plaid flannel they'll have one less add-on spot for something else. Nurses who also learn to play with plaid flannel will have a hard time playing without it meaning there will be less nurses using actually good add-ons (if there are any left after the rework).

Plaid Flannel
- Good change. Useful for beginners trying to learn.
Heavy Panting
- The downside is greatly needed.
- Take it that Ataxic Respiration was changed to something other than range.
Jenner's Last Breath
- Interesting change. Might be a niche thing but addons are to change it up a bit.
1 -
“Good lord, look at all the killer mains defending this unnecessary buff with their lives. Pathetic”
I rarely throw out insults, you’re basing that off of one comment. I just find it dumb when people assume someone is an X main for disagreeing with them.
8 -
I didn't know reworking unfair add-ons into fair and fun add-ons was a buff.
With the Plaid Flannel discussion, is it really going to change anything?
Yeah, it will make her easier to learn, but will it cut out mindgames and cut out the reaction time of the survivor like her add-ons do at the moment?
No it will not, it simply shows you where you blink. A good Nurse won't need it and the learning Nurses will eventually not use it.
It doesn't blink for the player.
1 -
Nurse base is actually a very balanced Killer, her addons is where she gets way too OP. If you can't beat a no addon Nurse, then you need too learn how too counter her. It's pretty easy too with no addons, tbh.
0 -
TBF thats not really a downside considering Nurse only had a couple of add-ons worth running in the first place.
0 -
please tell me they are gutting omegablink thers's literally zero courterplay to that
1 -
It seems like that they're making range add-ons have a charge speed debuff. I'm not sure if it's changing the movement speed of the range add-on though.
So I guess it's going to be like a normal blink, but you charge it longer for a longer range.
0 -
I didn't mention it because it's hasn't been changed much. At all.
You just charge longer. That's it. It's the same add-on just with a more noticeable yet minor downside.
0 -
We can't know. The rest of the add-ons are yet to be revealed.
1 -
It's one of the examples we gave. Right now, it just increases range without increasing charge time. This means you can go, "Oops, I accidentally touched the blink button and ended up in a different timezone." The reason why this becomes a problem is because it greatly reduces the window of time the survivor has to run away and break line of sight, allowing the Nurse to catch back up much quicker, reducing the amount of counterplay.
After the change, the charge time is going to be increased as well. This means that you can still go super far, but you're going to have to spend the time charging your blink. This way, you keep the counterplay, but you still have the utility of being able to blink around the map quickly.
Short version: It's not so much the range that's an issue. The further you blink, the more time the survivor has to react and the lower your chances of actually hitting them. The bigger issue was being able to charge a blink way faster than you could without the omegablink add-ons.
The silver lining: It won't completely destroy your muscle memory.
9 -
Is there any info on additional blink add-ons yet?
0 -
I'm almost certain it's going to better then you think and theres no reason not too... any sort of longer charge time is better then what it was.... there was 0 down side to it
0 -
oh sweet baby Jesus Lord thank you
1 -
"This means you can go, "Oops, I accidentally touched the blink button and ended up in a different timezone."
In my mind:
Dwight: "What the HELL was that?"
Meg: "Omega-Blink Nurse..."
Dwight: "...she's gone to PLAID."

This nurse add-on update is amazing, thank you for sharing this with me! :)
As a console Nurse main, I look forward to this!

The way it should be

Actually, Nurse currently has some really strong addons of which in particular are the ones that improve her range, charge speed, movement speed or add blinks or decrease fatigue. The only reason why you don't see people running addons on her is because she's one out of about maybe 7 killers that doesn't need addons in order to perform well which also comes with the fact that her addons are either worthless or way too powerful.
With the addon rework we're seeing here, it seems like they're aiming to change the function of the blink from what we can tell with the third addon they revealed which we cannot judge as an actual buff or nerf to her addons until we actually get the chance to try it out. On the other hand, we're seeing stronger penalties to her previously busted range addons as well. With that being said, we've only seen 3 out of the 20 addons she has and it would be completely unreasonable to judge this until we've seen all of the changes related to Nurse and her addons on the PTB and try it out for ourselves. I say this because what might sound good on paper, might not exactly be all that great in practice.
Lastly, there is nothing wrong with making Nurse more appealing to the newer players or even veteran players who have either never or almost never played Nurse and this is because the problem people have with Nurse isn't new people playing her. The problem comes from very experienced Nurse players who can wipe the floor out of any match, and if you're already very good at playing Nurse then you aren't even going to be using plaid flannel anyways, or even any addon for that matter.

The thread is so hilarious with all those who stil try to defend the nurse basekit. It has already been proven several times, that nurse with no addons is still not fair fight anyway. Stop lying to yourself for the selfsake to keep your OP killer, cause you arent able to play decent with any other non-OP stuff.
5 -
Proven? Where? When?
Go on, bring the proof, I'll wait
3 -
This is neither constructive nor does it convince anybody to change their perspective on Nurse. Anyone who thinks Nurse is fine is going to read your post and still think the same while anyone who thinks Nurse is a problem is still going to think the same.
You'd have better luck putting up a detailed post or response to explain why you believe Nurse is an issue rather than bashing people for having their own opinion from their own experiences. Not to take a side on this discussion, but I think it does help to actually try and have a discussion is all I'm saying.

Open your eyes and look at all those experiments from decent nurse mains. Was done several times the past years and always with the exact same outcome.
0 -
No no no.
You don't tell me "go look" or "open your eyes".
You claimed it was proven, I'm telling you to show me where it was proven.
Give me, your best proof.
If you are so sure and there are so many, shouldn't be an issue for you to find it
7 -
Was already done several times when nurse mains showed their statistics. If you show those who defend nurse a thousands of games they will rely on 10 games where such thing didnt happen in order to pretend everything is alright. So nothing to gain from working me out for people who dont want to change their "opinion".
0 -
You didnt even proof what you said yourself. so why should i do something obvious?
0 -
Because I have an opinion. You said your side was proven right.
The burden of proof is on you
6 -
Sure, ¨adapt and git gud¨ when you cant even drop a pallet on her, most times you stun her and still she appears and hits you like nothing happened.
0 -
No its not. But do what you want by pretending wrong realities. Im out of that witless doing of yours.
0 -
Want an explanation on how the burden of proof works?
Either you prove you are correct, or you stop pretending it's anything more than your opinion

I've been a Nurse main since release and have partaken in several tournaments. I've won TydeTyme's 750$ stuffed by daylight tourney and my team won most of Space Esports 150$ weekly ritual tournaments (4/10 I believe). I can say that for certain, basekit at the highest end of play is balanced, and at the end of the day survivors who know what they're doing will have the upper hand. I may only provide anecdotal evidence, but I come from a position of authority in this matter. I've seen the best players in this game absolutely destroy a great Nurse using no addons with all perks allowed. My own team even can wipe the floor with me from time to time.
9 -
Friendly reminder that not all people argue in good faith.
3 -
You are completely right, her addons are useless at the moment. If you ignore multiple blinks. And Omega Nurse.
1 -
Wow they nerfing the only decent killer in the game that requires actual skill. Gj devs hope your game goes the way of deathgarden soon. Your only course of action needs to be to scrap this add on nerf changes and fix your buggy glitch ridden game. Now it's up to you what path you want to go.
0 -
Yeah... it really annoys me...
4 -
Why would you even consider dropping a pallet to begin with? Nurse is all about LOS breaking and mind games
1 -
I love these nurse threads. Always filled with the same nurse mains clinging to the hope that their imbalanced killer isn't broken.
All other killers require the use of addons at the highest level - not nurse. And yet 'nurse basekit is fine'? LOL
It is so clear that a huge maps overhaul for the weaker killers (smaller, better designed) and a nurse BASEKIT nerf are what is needed to make this game closer to balanced. But that would anger the legions of nurse mains who think that just because they've put some time into the killer that they deserve to dominate all but the best survivors even when they themselves are not very good Killers. Some of the killers with the worst game sense I've seen are nurse players at red ranks, relying on her overpowered kit to carry them.
The only way the best survivors are beating the best nurse is if that nurse plays poorly or they get a bad map.
1 -
Because If Im gonna get downed at least I can try to stun her and buy some time, but its broken, why you want to omit that fact?
