Re: Jason vs Darth Vader
I'd honestly like to see both, though I do think a Death Troopers Star Wars chapter would be a much better fit (one of the few Star Wars books that I really enjoyed). But obviously Jason should come to the game first. If it is Jason, it's a shame we lost two horror icons so recently with Myers and Pinhead saying goodbye before he could be added to complete the whole museum of horror ideal.
That said, hear me out, I think it's actually neither of these IPs. It's more likely to be a Predator chapter, just because I think the Predator and Alien licenses were probably negotiated at the same time. There's also an outside chance it's a Squid Game chapter (I'm basing this on the new Seoul city map and BHVR & Netflix being on good terms again).
Re: Jason vs Darth Vader
I'm trying to imagine how predator would work or be unique in this game he would have his Wrist blades and the Cloak ability also his shoulder plasma cannon but that'd be pretty hard to balance also if you look at predator hunting grounds there's tons of weapons he could use
Re: How to make Solo-Q and SWF closer to balance the game overall
To be fair, I think the argument is less that fixing solo queue will open up new balance options that weren't available before, and more that fixing solo queue means any changes which are made afterwards will land better because solo queue will be in a better position to feel the effects appropriately.
For example, any survivor nerf won't disproportionately harm solo queue (at least by as much, realistically) if solo queue isn't operating at an active detriment. Same for survivor buffs, they'll land better if solo queue can more adequately benefit from them compared to SWF.
Obviously complete parity is impossible but it can be a hell of a lot better than it is now, at least.
Re: Adept Mode
This mode would not work as well as you think
Since many Survivors have complete a** perks while others are pretty decent
So you would see only the same Killer vs the same 4 Survivors all the time.
And I think this mode would be dead pretty fast
Re: What do you think of current Freddy Krueger?
I was a P100 Freddy main up until his most recent rework. While it definitely made him stronger, in terms of creativity and fun it felt like a side-grade at best.
Before his snares were like traps and you actually had to know how to set them up correctly around loops to get the full value from them, now it's just a boring projectile that can be shot through walls. Additionally his teleports' much shorter cooldown incentivized faking and mind games. The only improvement was to his dream pallets, as using them like remote bombs that you can coerce survivors towards is actually inspired and in-character. (Though it is incredibly stupid that Freddy can now be stunned by his own fake pallets, which was previously a bug that I assume the devs didn't know how to fix so they just made it a "feature".)
Don't get me wrong, while I did genuinely enjoy playing Freddy, part of me also mained him because I hoped that Behavior's promised rework would return him to a state much closer to that of his original release, with some modern updates and improvements. Specifically, I was really hoping that he would have an ability similar to the upcoming Grimoire killer or the Void, where his dream world would function as an actual separate part of the map that survivors would be trapped in.
Instead, this rework proved to me that either Behavior, the license holders, or both, don't really care about making Freddy Kruger actually feel like Freddy Kruger, and despite him being my only character to ever reach P100 my motivation to play him his has basically dropped to zero.
Re: "Why do we only face blight and ghoul"
I feel like all you do is complaining, so I am going to make this brief.
It sounds to me that you are having too easy of a time at your actual MMR, so the game gives you competent survivors as a result.
Think about it, if you keep winning by tunneling, you will eventually get to the point where you are facing players who can counterplay your "strategy". So change up the way you play. Change your build, and change the gameplay loop to work in your favor again. This is called adapting to the situation.
Re: "Why do we only face blight and ghoul"
A time based asym and survivors are given every advantage to waste the killers time yet the killer has almost zero agency left after nerfs.
Patently false. Killers hold primary agency. You open up talking about a single killer being nerfed in the title but generalize to your benefit here. This is disingenuous.
Gen speeds get buffed while gen regression gets nerfed. Sloppy butcher gets nerfed to 70 seconds making it to where survivors dont have to worry about their macro play while heal speeds get buffed to oblivion.
Diminishing returns. Also Sloppy at 70 is sufficient. I would know, I run sloppy. Also, Macro is dead outside of high MMR.
Tunneling was an effective strategy in a game with no rules but the devs caved to made up survivor rules and added anti tunnel mechanics and then buff basekit borrowed time to 15 second.
The rules are what the dev's say the rules are. Tunneling and slugging are valid and still not bannable regardless of what people think about them - they are not bannable and therefor valid strategy. The only thing about anti-tunnel mechanics I don't like is the exploitation of endurance for body blocking, but I also think collision is 100% a mistake so what do I know. Either way, count to 15 then hit them. Done. If you're so intent to tunnel you can still do so.
Please explain to me how this isnt a survivor sided game again?
The game is by nature, and must be by mathematical principle, survivor sided. That's just not as a cruel a prospect as you make it out to be. When 80% of the playerbase is survivor it is only sensible that the larger portion of the playerbase would recieve the larger portion of incentives to keep things interesting for them. Adapt or drown.
Every patch we just have to adapt to new things survivors get to do and just be told to get better as killer.
Then get better at killer. Be the best at a killer and you have a pedastal to stand on. Your road to being heard and listened to as an authority is clear, so pursue it.
Survivors have never been told by the devs to get better but every patch, the devs tell us to adapt.
Again, the onus is on Killers as the 20% to be the one to step up. You don't make 80% of the people miserable when 20% is an option. BHVR is trying to balance how to keep killers playing and queueing, without making survs miserable. It's a difficult balancing act, and you're still playing so they are doing it well.
Ghoul got nerfed because of trash tier survivors lol a killer we paid money for just to be gutted a week later because of survivor tears.
Adapt or drown. If you find it unacceptable, take action by not queueing killer. Enough people do that and queue times will skyrocket and BHVR will be forced to fix your flavor of the week. It's basic political power in vidya game format. If you don't like that idea try a new killer.
Or. You know. Try another game. Like Civ. XD
Re: Basekit BT should be it's own status effect
I think the majority of people have this opinion. But BHVR doesnt, their philosophy here is that they would rather balance in small steps before things get out of hand.
But IMO this is not really smart. Everyone knows that some Perks are only worth when using with specific other Perks and BHVR also should have data about it. I mean, they just need to compare Data of how often Perk A and Perk B were used together and how often only one of them was used. They will probably see that this barely happens.
I also think that Diminishing Returns would have been received less negative if there would have been changes immediatly. Because now it seems like we will have to wait quite some time to MAYBE make some Perks viable.
@Topic:
100% agreed. In general I feel that the Basekit Anti-Tunnel measurements (so Basekit Endurance and Haste) should be completely different from any other effects. So that you can tinker with either of them without affecting the other in a unwanted way (like it happened here with Babysitter).
Re: Jason vs Darth Vader
Jason is the only one from the Mount Rushmore of horror icons who isn't in this game.
I hope it's him.
