Re: Should the pregame lobby be removed?
Yes. It serves literally no purpose other than to give killers an advantage. Friends can coordinate builds before they queue up. The biggest advantage would be the time we'd all save. More time playing and less time spent waiting while people on both sides dodge.
Re: Survivor gameplay and item rework
16 perks in 1 game against 4 killer perks that always come with a downside, and on top of that 4 items and 8 addons that can heavily impact the game.
Nothing in an asym can be compared directly. Make gens take 20 seconds and you could give the survivors 0 perks and it would be survivor sided, make gens take 3 minutes and giving each survivor two more perks wouldn't make up for it. Everything gets factored in, map sizes, types of loops, what and how many pallets spawn, etc.
My idea is to give the killer a 5th perk out of a select pool of perks that stays on as long as there are 4 survivors alive in the game.
The idea about making the killer stronger in the 4v1 gets brought up a lot. I'm fine with it, actively encourage it even, as long as we boost survivors in the 3v1.
2nd would be to take survivor addons out of the bloodweb and make it to where you can't bring addons into the trial.
Practically speaking, it would never happen, because the game relies on the grind which needs clutter.
Survivors should only be able to bring base items into the trial and upgrade them during the trial through various actions.
An interesting idea, but you're basically making a completely different game at this point which would require reimagining items, perks, and the whole game flow.
The killer is often times left hoping to create enough pressure in order to stop survivors from ending the game fast, and most of the times the only way to do that is by forcing the killer to slug or tunnel
Sorry, but the ideas would ultimately be hated by killers because they would strengthen SWFs. The more variables you introduce into the game, the more valuable coordination is going to be. You'd have a massive disparity between soloq and SWFs.
Re: Should the pregame lobby be removed?
To elaborate,
I believe that the killer should have the upper-hand in game to keep things interesting and keep the killer role desirable.
This sentiment does not extend to a pre-game lobby.
So my belief on the matter is that both sides should be able to cherry-pick in the lobby or neither side should.
Currently, it is very one sided. I shouldn't have to private my profile to avoid several killers dodging me in a row just because I have over 3k hours. There are posts in this thread and earlier ones on the same subject that say it is to avoid cheaters.
I run into high ping killers far more often than cheaters, where is my ability to avoid that?
Personally I dont think the killer should be able to see items either, but I acknowledge that its a subjective point as the killer wasting a perk slot is far more impactful than a survivor wasting a perk slot.
Re: A big thank you to the community
I voted for old lady specifically because her face tells a story and she embodies the "survivor" aspect better.
Looking at the other girl made me think "This is just Kate with heterochromia..."
RIP Grandma 👵. Thank You For The Good Times.
I just got the phone call that my Grandma died this morning. She was 100 years old.
My Grandma took care of me 3 days a week while I was growing up.
I fell in love with Horror films when I was 8 years old, and even though she was shocked, we would watch all the movies together because I loved sharing them with her.
I could never get enough Child's Play, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street.
My family, including my Grandma, would lovingly joke that she was the only person her age to have literally watched every film from each franchise and know the back story of these villains.
I always meant to bring my Switch or PS5 to her house so that I could show her how awesome it is to be able to play as Chucky, Michael, and Freddy in a game with real players in Dead by Daylight.
Sadly, I never got around to it, and I will always regret it.
I'm still in a bit of shock, but I need to do something while I process this.
I will be playing my P100 Freddy with Bloody Partystreamers tonight, and letting the Survivors escape after 2 hooks to celebrate my late 100-Year-Old Grandma.
Rest in peace, Grandma. You were always so generous with every human. These games are for you tonight.
Re: Killer sided or Survivor sided?
Seems to be working fine for them.
Most Killers are at or above 60%, even in their worst matchups.

Re: 15 Second Basekit BT is here to stay, but why should it be allowed to benefit beyond tunneling?
The issue is that unfortunately trying to remove body blocking causes more problems that it's worth.
- Removing no clip between Survivor and Killer actually makes it easier to body block cause you can sit in the killers model, and the killer cannot not hit you.
- Tying it to protection hits allows killers to subvert it by hitting the unhooker as they go for the unhook, and then hit the unhooked Survivor while the injured Survivor is within 16m to bypass their BT.
- Chase mechanics have similar issues where they can be bypassed by simply entering chase with the other survivor after they unhook to down.
Its actually quite hard to get rid of the body blocking problem without doing something crazy...
E.g. make Survivors off hook ethereal or something and make it physically impossible to hit or interact with them for the duration of BT.... which means there is genuinely no way to stop them when running to gate...
Re: Should the pregame lobby be removed?
Yup the only thing it leads to is people lobby dodging, I think its really outdated the killer can go into peoples profiles before the match even starts. Has led me to play on anon for awhile now as when I did play with profile open longest I've waited for a match due to killer lobby dodging was 30 mins
Killers should only see the survivors they are versing, not usernames (eg vee, claud,) until after the game.
For Survivors it should be perks, who they are playing and I would be ok with team seeing my username as they are my team not my opponent
Re: Survivors actually get punished for being tunneled out
The game is literally designed to be killer sided. It's an asymmetric pvp game.
True a top tier 4 man super sweat swf is an absolute nightmare to play against. But that's a tiny fraction of the player base.
I think a lot of people on the forums forget that. And a lot of killers end up with that opinion becuase they have been getting 3 and 4k games for so long that they skyrocket their mmr and end up against super good survs all the time. Maybe if killers took it down a gear, and wouldn't resort to tunnelling playeds out then their mmr would be more reasonable
