Killer role feels awful to play as
I am a relatively new player and after playing survivor for 40 hours or so I tried playing killer on custom games against bots and with the shuffle against players.
Killer feels like you are forced to play a game by not the rules because ‘tunneling’ and ‘slugging’ is not wanted and seen detrimental to gameplay. Which is fine by me however game doesnt offer killers any other choice besides being considerably better at the game than the 4 other players.
And even if you are good you will still have to tunnel or slug because you will be interrupted AND revive survivor either because of broken hooks or blinds/stuns.
Expecting a Killer with SBMM to get 12 hooks equally is unrealistic. Especially considering this most likely means you have 4 people working on last gens and will have 3+healthy survivors ready for end game which is basically 3 escapes if you can get to injured player first.
From all of my games as killer I was always better off with less survivors. Less stuns, blinds, hook breaks, gen pressure. Unless survivors are worse than me then I can go for two hook each because chases dont take as long and I can hook freely.
What I mean is I am all for removing or changing slug or tunneling but from what I looked up developers only talk about how they going to punish killers for doing that and not how killers going to handle situations where there are no hooks or you are not in a safe spot to pick up. Not to mention end game pressure of 4 surviors.
Re: Give shards for playing rare killers.
Just make map resources spawn based on which killer it is.
Stronger killer = More resources.
Weaker killer = Less resources.
Re: If you don't like the top tier killers, the new survey is your chance to provide that feedback
I got Ghoul as an option twice.
Needless to say that I didn't hold back my opinion on him
Re: Damn playing a low tier killer is Horrible right now.
Your still treating the bhvr quotes like they were the foundation of my argument, when they never were.
They were context.
I split these up pretty clearly in the last post, but let's try a different approach.
Word argument
If you were just trying to establish context:
Why did you put GOOD in all caps before reason? Why did you put so many Ls in all before data?
The above writing makes no sense just to establish context. It's an attempt to establish evidence. Context isn't 'good', it's context. You don't need to say the have 'allllll' the data to establish context.
You just say BHVR has a 60/40 KR, which again, everyone knows.
Telling others to 'read' while trying to alter the meaning of that paragraph, or refusing to say 'I messed that up', undercuts the idea of anything else being an honest discussion.
Gen Speed
The connection is this (read carefully lol)
bhvrs own data shows coordinated high MMR groups consistently outperform averages.
Read carefully
Everyone knows and no one disagrees. High MMR coordinated SWFs have always outperformed every other group.
Those all help. But their indirect.
Gen speed is direct.
So what?
Gen speed is direct in soloq.
Again, if anything, the gen speed perks have less of an improvement on SWFs than they do soloq. Hyperfocus / deja vu really don't depend on it, prove definitely is, but is generally seen as a middling perk. Full circuit is basically a beginner perk outside of trying to set a record for fastest escape streaks.
-I also see in a reply after this you say to @FerrousFacade you aren't talking full gen builds, except that is something you brought up. Again, this feels like you are either changing your point or just really bad at communicating your thoughts.
Like everything, coordinated SWF will be better, but there's nothing unique about gen speed.
It converts coordination into raw objective progress with almost no waste-
less idle timefewer duplicated actionsbetter gen spreadingbetter timing of pressure vs repairturning the same chase time into more total gen progress than solo queue can
That's all true with or without gen perks / items
Everything else about quotes, definitions of “balance,” happy/unhappy, and bhvr's intent came from you trying to turn my context into the core of the argument.
If you don't think you were debating these things, even before I got in the argument, I don't think its an accurate take.
But as I've said from pretty early on, take those quotes, definitions, etc. out and you don't have an argument. There's no evidence or logical argument that you've provided connecting high MMR SWFs to what you say is the problem, and quite a bit provided by others showing the opposite.
Re: If you don't like the top tier killers, the new survey is your chance to provide that feedback
Who said they need nerfed to pigs level lmao, Weskers level of mobility is where I want them all to be at, I feel he is the right amount of powerful for a mobility killer.
Bugs shouldn't be a factor when it comes to balance.
Played killer after a long hiatus and I don't know how killer mains do it
As a soloq survivor, I lose matches all the time. It's not unusual to have a situation where almost everybody is death hook at four gens. Yet it never feels like a miserable defeat to me. It doesn't feel PERSONAL. I never get the feeling like the killer is doing things on purpose to get under my skin.
But playing killer tonight after a long time of playing survivor really reminded me of what the OTHER side of the game feels like. First match, within minutes a survivor runs up to me, nods and points and tries to get me chase them. Which they do repeatedly all during the match. I got hit with head on, bags at every pallet. And I wasn't playing toxic, it was four gens and I hadn't really done anything yet.
I'm not saying this kind of stuff is toxic. I think it's kind of cocky to run up to the killer and nod and point and all that. I think the impression is that of really confident survivors who want to show off how adept they are at the game. Which is fine I guess. But encountering "super confident survivors" who nod, bag, point and follow you around all during the match gets really old when it pops up in the majority of your games. Literally right out of the gate. (With the obligatory exit gate bags at the end. Obviously)
I do want to get back into playing killer the way that I use to. Because I like the killers that I have. But man, I just don't know how killer mains handle do it. It is SO much pressure, along with everything else.
Re: Has killer been frustrating for anyone else recently
My killer games have been fine. Couple of 4 outs but most of them have been enojyable.
Re: Damn playing a low tier killer is Horrible right now.
Yo if we ever really, really disagree on something just tell me I'm wrong and I'll say "you right" and walk away. Challenging you is a fools errand.
Re: If you don't like the top tier killers, the new survey is your chance to provide that feedback
They are lucky I didn't get Ghoul as an option…
