Pride month charm is worring me...
As I saw the livestream yesterday and saw the charm. I found it really cool and the charm looks really good.
But then I did the mistake and read the chat and Twitter...
So many (Bad word here) people who write garbage like "I tunnel every one who is wearing that" and stuff that goes in the ddos direction....
I don't know if this charm is "ready" for this community and so many people reacting poorly.

They'll be banned. Easy enough.

I don’t think it’s the charm that isn’t ready. It’s immature man child’s or actual children that aren’t ready to be part of an online community
60 -
I'll wear it just to loop them for the whole game then. Eat that, nerds.
59 -
I feel like the people who actually are pride deserve it and it should stay but its true that those people are actually horrible people, Plus as @Orion said they will get banned. Eventually people will just deal with its inclusion I think.
11 -
Better to have it and let dickbags be dickbags than to refuse to implement it out of fear of the dickbags. That's letting the regressives win.
It's a frustrating situation, but difficult to do anything about due to how hard it is to police ingame actions. Players like that were already the ones being absolutely horrible to everyone in their matches. Perhaps they'll be possible to report if they admit their intentions in postgame chat (because that's just begging to bleed over into hate speech.) Hell, you might find the opposite and find players that are friendly to each other when they see the charm; charm = hatch, charm = walking up to the killer and booping them, etc.

I'd like to see them try.
In all seriousness if they say in endgame chat "That's what you get for wearing the pride charm" it's like?? That's blatantly homophobic?? Which is a bannable chat offence????

Survivor charms are discreet enough that I don’t think it will be a huge issue tbh. Plus, I honestly think those people are just a particularly vocal minority and that most people really don’t care. Wear your charm with pride :)

There's a -lot- of LGBT people who play this game When smite created pride avatars there was similar threats which I never heard of happening, especially as there was usually at least one person per match with them, they can't target us all.
Also if I'm getting tunnelled or teabagged bc I have a pride charm I'm not sure how I'll be able to tell the difference from a usual game 🤔
35 -
Yea as if anyone cares what charms survivors have. All I see is that either survivor has some charms or not.
People actually think they get tunneled because of it? Its just a charm and like any other charm its useless with no effect on the gameplay
6 -
No, people don't think they'll get tunneled because of it, people are threatening to tunnel people for it.
Place the blame where it belongs.

I was only sad that it's just a gay pride charm. Smite is a great example where they have multiple pride flags. Gay, bi, lesbian, asexual, trans, and pansexual. Wheres my bi flag I want to show my colors too!
0 -
It's LGBT pride flag, not gay pride flag.
11 -
Technically it's the full LGBT flag- there's a seperate one for specifcally MLM (gay) and WLW (lesbian), as well as obviously bi, pan, trans, ace, demi, etc.
Though I do agree- bi, pan, trans, ace, MLM, WLW flags. All the charms. Full representation.

Aaah. But people like that are all over the forums, twitter and in game as well. They won't do #########, just edgy teens with big mouths
3 -
It's LGBT pride flag. The fact that people only focus on "G" when they hear "LGBT" doesn't change that.
8 -
ah is it? my bad, im still not the best educated on it all. I'll edit my comment. Thanks.
4 -
I don't usually wear charms on survivors because they're so small it doesn't feel worthy or "unique" at all, but I will definitely wear this (and place it on my hooks too) if it's enough to piss people off
5 -
Yeah it won’t be that big of a problem. Tunneling is already pretty common. And if they actually target players specifically for that they will end up gloating about it in end-game chat, so easy ban. I am actually kinda looking forward to this.
1 -
Then why didn't they do the progress flag? The flag they chose literally shows up in Google as the gay pride flag.
0 -
The charm's not ready for the game? No no, it's just a charm.
Nah, those few players are the ones who aren't ready, not ready to have certain kinds people play the same game.
6 -
That doesn't change you trying to blame LGBT+ people for responding to things they didn't even start.
3 -
New swf tactic, get the best looper on the team to wear the charm whether they're LGBT or not, easy win against bigots 😁
12 -
What am I trying? You talking to me right?
0 -
I doubt it will be that big an issue in practice just some people being crying at its release. Just ignore the ######### at the end of the day its just a charm and they will at shut up in about a week.

I want a flashlight that fires rainbows to really trigger them
17 -
People actually think they get tunneled because of it? Its just a charm and like any other charm its useless with no effect on the gameplay
Read though that one again.
"People actually think they get tunneled because of it"
Specifically that bit.
Intentional or not, your wording leaves much to be desired, as it implies that people think they'll be tunneled because of it, when in actuality it's not them saying they're afraid of being tunneled for it but bigots saying they'll tunnel for it.
3 -
Damn, now I want that too!
i was never using flashlights but that would change drastically!
2 -
omg rainbow confetti

Making charms like this is only gonna lead to bad things which sucks but that's just how people how. They simply should not bother because it ONLY leads to bad things. I don't care that much because it doesn't do anything to me but there are people out there who will get ######### on for using it an I feel bad for them. If they simply DO NOT release anything like this it'll be fine. I dont think its gonna have a big impact either way but its better to have nothing then to make something that only leads to bad things.

If we followed that line of thinking we wouldn't be able to marry and that's bullshit
13 -
I'll be like:"Eat my Rainbow dust b***!"
8 -
Because we should just not support the LGBT community, because a few people are going to be awful about it.
8 -
half the scumbags who say that don't have the guts to try it IRL, they'll get banned in a heartbeat knowing how BHVR feels about being inclusive
4 -
yeah purposefully exclude lgbt+ people because some homophobes cant handle us existing.

Sorry, but I have to disagree on that hard.
the charm will not create these bad things. Those are already present and practiced (eg against specific usernames, steam profile pics etc).
this charm may show some of the bigots more. But that’s it.
and this charm actually does something good, it will make people feel accepted and acknowledged, not discriminated or ignored.
11 -
Can we not do the whole divisive thing? It’s not straight people that are upset by a charm, it’s homophobes.
9 -
its a meme picture that i thought was funny.
though if current discord conversations im having are anything to go by anything above a single flag does seem to make a whole lot of people really angry for no apparent reason.
2 -
I like that they are adding and LGBT charm, adding more connections to the community. But if people are gonna tunnel over a charm, thats ######### pathetic. Get a grip, ya'll who cares it's just a charm. But what excites me the most about the charm is that I hope it leads to opening up more to the community. I mean why just stop at the LGBT charm, I wanna see a charm for autism, and so on just so people can show representation in the game
Post edited by Dabihwow on5 -
Yeah I get it, but I think that sort of stuff is best for joking around with friends. Posting “lol the straights are mad!!” on a public thread is only gonna make the conversation more negative.
4 -
okay maybe not autism speaks because that "charity" is harmful as ######### from what i remember but i agree with having people represent themselves how they want
3 -
They'll grow up eventually.
1 -
Wait really, damn I didn't know that. But as someone who had a form of Autism, I would like some representation too
2 -
To counter, I will tunnel everyone NOT wearing the charm and will give the hatch to anyone wearing it. (Actually, I probably won't even notice because let's be honest charms are tiny and I never notice them anyway)
2 -
Who cares? Its just a charm. Not like you can see it anyways with how insignificant they are.
4 -
I would argue that the charm is necessary in order to FORCE the conversation. It's obvious there are people in the world who find their ancient taboos against LGBT too dear to them. But they aren't going to be forced to release their grip on these out-dated and ultimately unnecessary beliefs unless it becomes socially acceptable among most people for LGBT people to be open about what they are. Display of these charms normalizes the existence of these people in the eyes of society and makes it more and more socially unacceptable for these hold-outs to be the way they are.
So bring them on and let the haters hate.
People are going to play the way they want regardless of the charms you display.
5 -
oh im not saying to not represent yourself- i completely agree we should have as much representation as possible.
1 -
a lot of people do care and if you don't, great. act like someone who doesn't and don't talk about it.
1 -
I knew what you meant I was just surprised to hear that about Autism speaks, there is however another charm they could add to show representation, but I think it would be rather, contraversial
0 -
We already get targeted irl, nothing new for us
1 -
If only you could equip the same charm 3 times. I'd do it solely to piss off those kind of idiots to the max.
