I’m genuinely disgusted at BHVR supporting NFTs
They straight up misled into believing they weren’t a part of this, absolutely abhorrent and unethical behaviour.
SOMEONE needs to pay for this. Whoever approved this needs sacked, I’m genuinely sickened. Shocker that they announce this the same day as the collab with for honour, almost like they’re trying to hide this!!

Uh oh
BHVR's done it again

Ok, so the official DbD Twitter posted this a while ago now:
And now it has posted this?
So to clarify; this whole NFT... "thing" is actually something that you have worked on (and it doesn't give additional access to extra content (like voice lines - not that I mind about that bit. I'm just trying to get my head around it.)
I'm just horribly confused and worried over this NFT "thing" as most of the research I've done into it have all came up with rather negative connotations.
A quick reminder to please keep the comments civil, I know it's hard; but please try. Also if anything gets out of hand please close this topic.
Thank you.
Edit: I originally posted this as a new discussion, is the forum automatically putting these posts together already? I guess they were prepared for the storm at least...

the amount of copium im going through is unreal
everything looked like it's a big bait or a scam and yet it's real
please tell me their twitter got hacked or something
34 -
No. Seems legit.
That's the worst part about this.
24 -
How do these people sleep at night? They intentionally misled us into thinking it was only the pinhead IP side doing this.
37 -
In case some of you have not heard BHVR has decided to collaborate with some NTFs people to make the Hellraiser chapter be bought by those tokens. What they fail to realize is that Steam has said unequivocally that they will BAN any game that uses NTFs or any cryptocurrency off of their platform. So I implore BHVR don't do this, please don't introduce NTFs into this game, because we don't need the game banned over this.
30 -
Where's all those people saying it was fake now
38 -
Of all the terrible PR moves, this might genuinely be the worst. It's honestly impressive how bad of a look this is.
50 -
huh.
2 -
Where Steam said that? I'd like to read it.
4 -
Maybe it’ll teach them a lesson.
11 -
Sometimes it feels like BHVR does things just to piss off player base and turn people away from the game. 🤦♀️
9 -
Well this doesn't seem good. I'm worried for the future of dbd
28 -
I'm just not going to buy the NFTs. I don't care
4 -
why
32 -
Do control + f 'Blockchain' and you'll find it

Hey wait. I just realized. The mods permabanned the guy who made the first post about this. Everyone was like "yeah cause they don't want him posting false statements."
hahahahahahah Well. I haven't played DBD in a few weeks cause of the ######### balance, and now I can just safely uninstall it. Cya BHVR

Not playing devil's advocate here but @GoodBoyKaru wasn't banned for making the thread and I don't think it was permanent either
5 -
I'm not really emotionally invested in the whole "think of the nature!" side of the argument, but I still have to admit that this level of corporate deceit is deserving of all the hate it's getting and more.
30 -
The reply asking for refunds has more likes than the original post, very bad look for BHVR.
34 -
I'm at a lost for words. I try to be kind and give bhvr the benefit of the doubt, but I definitely can't accept this.
23 -
Thanks.
3 -
Well this thread is gonna be white washed by the mods pretty quick.
15 -
Well, this sucks!
After seeing the most recent tweet, I'm pretty sure what happened here is that Park Ave were the ones who made the actual connection and orchestrated the whole NFT thing with Boss Protocol, and BHVR have some kind of obligation to tweet about it- if it were just the latest tweet I'd think that BHVR themselves made these NFTs, but based on the previous tweet we saw where they heavily emphasised that Park Ave are allowed to do whatever they want with the models BHVR makes, this seems more likely.
Obviously, this doesn't absolve BHVR of all wrongdoing here- if this was part of the actual negotiations with Park Ave they definitely should've turned the license down, but it does seem still that Park Ave are the ones who deserve the majority of the scorn for this disgusting move.
Side note. Park Ave are so getting scammed by Boss Protocol lol that company looks shady as all hell

who the ######### thought this was a good idea?!

Wonder if McLean left because of this? https://twitter.com/mclean_yep/status/1446489715037904921?s=21
6 -
then shouldn't they be aware of this? they stated they worked with behavivor for months so they probably should know about it?
1 -
That’ll be even worse for BHVR if that happens.
22 -
Let me preface this by saying I was wrong.
There are no words to describe the depth of my disappointment in BHVR's decision to support NFTs, but I believe this action summarizes it: I'm uninstalling Dead by Daylight forever.
Goodbye.
91 -
Well, unfortunately it looks like that my worries were true. This has got to be one of the worst decisions BHVR has ever made.
14 -
Forgive me for being dumb, but what the hell is an "NFT" and why is it such a big deal?
5 -
Super condensed version: an NFT is a digital receipt that says you own a particular jpeg, and the system that generates it uses more energy than some small countries. It's a bad thing because it's dealing pretty hefty harm to the environment, and it has literally no upside, NFTs are a gigantic scam with zero redeeming qualities.
35 -
you said it.
14 -
Yup, same here. I just can't say my mind here because I know I'll get banned.
16 -
Please stay active on the forums.
Imo, you have some controversial views with regards to DBD but the forums will be a quieter place with you not around.
16 -
They already closed the thread I bumped with the old NFT stuff. The censorship has started
14 -
Def wouldn't be the same.
4 -
Merging the various posts into this one isn't helping, it's a little confusing
3 -
step 1 merge all thread about NFT
6 -
All of my hatred...
BHVR you ######### up.
This doesn't deserve boycotting. Boycotting is too good for this
This is worse than unacceptable
24 -
yep.
2 -
The #########?
10 -
I think despite any disagreements anyone has had on here, we can all agree this is completely unethical.
31 -
I agree with you in here.
Freddy's rework, The Realm Beyond and the poorly done events already made me worry for the game's future back then. All of those situations were so bad that they made leave the game.
But NFTs?
This is a whole new level. And it is not acceptable, at all.
16 -
My main gripe is the dishonesty about it
They said it themselves, they knew months in advance this was going to happen and they waited until AFTER the chapter was out for at least a month before talking about it. That's not right.
I get it, it's business but you can't expect your consumers to just roll over and take it when it's so blatant like this.
20 -
Isn't Steam banning games for this? If so, then I guess it's bye bye to DBD
20 -
I have other games I wanted to play anyway.
9 -
Big agree.
For context, this is the Tweet that was posted on the official Dbd Twitter after a thread about this NFT deal was made (there is a reply by the official Dbd Twitter account to that Tweet, for full context open the Tweet in a new browser tab / window or something - it says there is no exclusive in-game content linked to the NFT stuff):
This does NOT say that they did not work together with the NFT company. There is no lie or ambiguity here. But it is absolutely worded in such a way to distract people. When that Tweet was made they knew that they had been working "with Boss Protocol over several months to adapt in-game models for use as NFTs" (Source and full context of this quote here: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1450160150753562624).
They never said that there is no deeper partnership with the NFT company but at the same time they neglected to mention that there actually is one which is what people were upset about in the first place.
Me saying there is a deeper partnership is based on the official Dbd Twitter account posting that they have been working the NFT company over several months - to me that does not sound like a minor / casual partnership. But please feel free to disagree with me and form your own opinion.
17 -
I'd like to believe that disagreements over a game aren't worth more than actual moral positioning, that's for sure.
