Why does nobody want to nerf Nurse?

True. That would be a pretty good balance change that wouldn't rock the boat too much.
0 -
??? That would be a major nerf for no reason to one of the best designed killers in the game.

I have an issue with this because there are legitimately unbeatable situations with her. She has a 100/0 matchup on Midwich meaning that she can literally kill every survivor faster than they can finish every single gen especially with a perk like Starstruck. She is actually so incredibly quick and negates pallets, windows, AND the hold w meta. I don't think she's balanced by any stretch of the imagination.
1 -
Which is why competitive preselects the map so it's not one-sided for either side. For reference, her competitive map is Coal Tower. That is what it takes to have an even match against heavily restricted survivors. Also, nothing is ever unbeatable in this game. People are not perfect. Even on a map like Midwich, you just have to make the right read enough times. There is a reason she consistently averages out to 2 kills/2 escapes against even skill matchups.

Well we're not talking about balancing her at the top level of play. They clearly don't balance for the top level they try to do it more towards the average skill level which Nurse is way too strong for. I'm not necessarily saying they need to go out and nerf her especially because she has the lowest kill rate I'm just wondering why the community gives her a pass. And I don't think it's because she's "balanced" or the most "well designed" killer.

She's "strong" at the average level because most players do not know how to play versus Nurse, but the person that learned Nurse had to become much better comparatively to do well as Nurse. When one side is blatantly more skilled than the other, then it tends to result in stomps. This is just a given. Even outside of competitive, she performs more normally when going against actual even matchup teams of people that actually know how to play against her (eg, through just regular KYF/no holds barred/etc). No duh people will lose when they go against someone they never bothered learning to beat.
1 -
All survivors have are pallets, windows, and holding W, and she counters all of them.
0 -
And... mindgaming... you know... using your noggin? You're also forgetting breaking LOS.
5 -
A good enough Nurse can predict you/track you through other means than sight. There exist sounds and a constant speed of survivors that she can use to accurately predict where you'll be pretty much every time.
0 -
Wow, it's almost like this is what mindgaming is for. They make a prediction, and you try and make them predict wrong, and they try and predict right.
4 -
Because killers like Nurse are exactly what the so called "main killers" in this forum wants.
They want killers that can 4K 75%+ of times and give a hatch once every 10 matches when they feel the survivor deserves it.
Thats the "balance" they want.
3 -
Because SWF
1 -
Because she's the Only killer that can actually compete with actually good survivors..
if she gotten a nerf alongside blight and Maybe spirit, the game would not survive honestly,
The Billy nerf still makes me question what decisions they have..
2 -
I have yet to hear any specific examples on how to nerf her that would not render her completely unplayable in any kind of capacity of success.
4 -
Why is nurse being discussed again? Did i miss something after the spirit nerf?
I mean, there isn´t exactly much left on high mmr to play against with spirit gone.
So, just asking if you´re sure about this nerf request and what the consequences will be like.
6 -
Yeah I was thinking that she’s been nerfed to the point where any more would destroy her
0 -
Basekit is fine.
Range and cooldown add-ons are busted because they stack
Also the problem arises when people stack slowdown/stalling perks on her. But that's the same with any strong killer
0 -
Nurse is a killer made of glass, any small nerf can break her due to her power design as she has no fallback for if her power becomes too weak from a nerf
0 -
Nurse is balanced without addons - Leave her alone.

I don't think nurse right now requires the most skill of any killer. I would say cenobite gateway's power requires the most skill, since it requires from you to:
First: Succesfully place the gateway portal to be as close to survivor which works like a nurse's power.
And second: Succesfully aim the projectile chain which works like a rocket launcher and trust me from the big distance it's not very ez to do so.
Sure, nurse can't cancel her power, but she doesn't require two blinks to hit a survivor + she also has a brown addon that has place indicator of her power

She needs buff according to kill rates. #42%kills #buffnurse
3 -
Killer is already unfun to play, by nerfing one of the 3 good killers will just bring the game down.
1 -
Same with tricskter at 47% kill rate 😂
1 -
Highest skill ceiling.
Lowest kill rate.
Self explanatory.
4 -
Honestly I find the mindset of "Fixing xyz bug is a buff to x killer or x perk" is really just so dumb. I honestly want to know the thought process that leads to people thinking that fixing something that's broken is a buff.
0 -
This is the mindset that got Deathslinger irresponsibly nerfed, being applied to a different killer.
4 -
nerfing her would ######### up players that then wasted ton of hundreds and thousands of hours on her.
0 -
Hold up... Nurse is slower than survivors in a straight chase, and despite the fixes coming in, she'll still have a number of bugs (problems blinking through walls/objects/etc). Her power has a recharge time. She suffers fatigue every time she uses it which almost blinds her (which is easy escape for survivors with iron will and the step-boon). She's ridiculously difficult to learn/play, and you have to sink 100's of hours in her to get to a decent point.
And you want to nerf her more?? Because the players that put the time in to master her are stopping your M1 simulator game?
2 -
I've always had a certain level of respect for Nurse and Huntress players (I believe Huntress has the actual highest skill ceiling on any killer) to the point where if I come across a really really good Nurse or Huntress who completely steam rolls our team, I just take it.
Like.... they're not easy killers to learn so if someone learns them well enough to a point where I feel like no matter what I do I can't win, they kinda deserve it? I feel that way for Huntress moreso than Nurse because Nurse's ability is game breaking but like.... I still respect a good Nurse

As the game currently is nurse is one of the few killers that have an appropriate ratio of skill:power. She's very strong but use her poorly and you'll fail miserably, use her well and you almost never lose.
I do think her design is problematic in that she basically ignores all game mechanics and causes balancing issues for other perks. Until more pressing issues with the game are fixed though it doesn't seem like she needs to be a high prio.

Being the best killer does not an OP killer make. She's not OP, and she has valid counterplay.
Let's talk about things on the survivor side that actually are OP, and don't have valid counterplay.
3 -
Nurse is not OP but Dead Hard is. Ok dude.
1 -
I didn't say anything about Dead Hard in that post. Is someone insecure? Do I spot someone who relies on Dead Hard and will do anything to defend it's honor? LOL
Dead Hard isn't "OP" per say. But it is bullshit. As are all free, unearned second chance perks, on both sides.

base nurse is somewhat balanced...
they needa buff her base blink recharge and nerf the addons for recharge, so it'll be actual balance..
the cd is just waaay too long imho..
also base blight just feels slow to me if i don't run double speed..
...im addicted to it
2 -
Because they already did. On more then one occasion. How many times do people want her gutted before they finally leave her alone?
5 -
also she doesn't fatigue anymore after getting stunned by a pallet... im pretty sure that wasn't a bug kek thanks for the buff on powerful killers bhvr
0 -
The bug fix makes it consistent with other killer powers, but this is a near negligible scenario anyways. Nurse basically never gets pallet stunned.
1 -
nurse never gets pallet stunned? sure man if you wanna believe that lol. with this buff its one less defense for survivors. i hate, hate how clearly bhvr balances this game around nurse
0 -
You do realize a decent Nurse will just blink to one side and then either hit you or blink to the other and hit you?
1 -
Ngl to you. i've been playing alot of speed billy / blight, and with shadowborn it makes me look like i haul ass.. so when you play with that for a long time.. yeah that'll screw with your senses abit,
On the other note..Nurse is getting QoL fixes (FINALLY) so she might be able to be worth playin' alot more this up-coming midchapter..
...we just need a better addonpass with her.
0 -
Until you get into indoor map...
1 -
I bet people would love to see Blight only games.
Any nerfs would just kill her, she is hard af, she would become Pinhead / Billy with super high skill ceiling without a reward, which is just bad.
1 -
I’m sorry did I miss something? Last I checked they have almost NEVER buffed Nurse. Ever. If you’re referring to the PTB patch, you seriously consider bug fixes a buff? That’s sad, man.
1 -
The new changes on ptb also buffed nurse/token killers. After blinking/using bubba's power you keep the amount you charged before hand.
0 -
Bla bla bla, killer op.
bla bla bla nurse op.
bla bla bla Spirit op.
yeah and I don’t have argument and hate spirit.
0 -
???
0 -
If you accidently recharged your blink to 99% on your second token then you use one blink instead of having to wait for a whole new token it's still at 99%.
1 -
Wasn't aware of that, noted. Might be a bug.

Those horror Multiplayer Games wont dethrone DbD...
0 -
And i did not say they will? I am just gonna play them. Because DbD is so slow to fix balance issues. Actually they don't even care about killer players have fun or not at high mmr.
