What's an issue/problem you think isn't talked about enough?
What do you think is an issue or problem that's DBD related that isn't talked about or discussed enough?
Majority of us all know about the usual hot topics and how they are talked about to death; SWFs, Nurse, The meta and so on but what's something you see and go "Why aren't more people talking about this?" Maybe it gets overshadowed or forgotten quickly.
Also it doesn't have to be something strictly game related it could be something about the community, the forums, content creators (In a general sense, not individuals) and so on.
I'm curious to know

I think Windows of Opportunity is overpowered as hell
Console only crossplay should absolutely be an option
12 -
Map design is basically the cause of all issues in DBD. It is talked about a fair bit but not enough imo since it is by far the biggest issue current DBD faces
41 -
I think the console only crossplay would be good for avoiding cheaters, is what i would say if I didn't know cheaters can bypass this anyway supposedly
I have a weird feeling that we're going to see tweaks to map balance/design soon given how the devs showed off the macmillan tile thing that was rumoured. It might be a start
But yeah it's not talked about as much as it should be. Some people chalk it up to "Well it's only certain maps that are bad" but Map RNG can be a big deciding factor on who wins/loses, it's quite interesting

Tombstone piece I 100% agree, it needs to be fired from a cannon into the sun
Judith's I think is okay to deal with. It's still horrible to just be straight up killed but at least they have to fully commit to the addon, they can't just slap it on and use it whenever
6 -
Yeah I mean it's a problem addon purely for it's effect
idk, from a balance standpoint it's a complete mess
But it's one of those problem addons that's kinda interesting from a thematic sense. You're changing the rules of the game, so to speak
Tombstone piece makes it too easy, though.

I wouldn't say impossible against people slamming gens, breaking los and using lockers.
Tp is rough to deal with against someone who use it right true but judith's takes a while and survivors have to be really inefficient and misplay a lot to lose against it.
I think in most situations that Myers got a 4k with these add ons, survivors were cocky and underestimating him until it was too late. You can't really go into his face like it is nothing and feed him stalk.
3 -
The lack of consideration for older or old fashioned players.
Now, I know, I know... This is a "me" thing, and not something with the game itself, because I have an undying passion for old DBD.
But...
A little bit of consideration for those who prefer the old ways could be nice.
Just a little bit would be better than nothing.

Everything.
Except Old Legion.

Maybe BHVR will pull a Blizzard in a few years and release
"DBD Classic"

Survivor bloodpoint earnings. They aren't enough by any means, and people act like it's okay. Like there are actions that should give bp (or more bp).
Also emblems on both sides. If a killer is afk survivors should get iri chaser emblem. Now that matchmaking is mmr and not rank, there's no reason not to do it. Same for certain killers like plague who have a harder time earning emblem points than other killers. Killer emblems need addressing too.

Pigs man hands.
This has always bothered me since Shawnee Smith, the actress for Amanda Young in the saw series, IRL really has very slender hands. TBH, almost all of the female Killers have Slender and very feminine hands (Hag and Charlotte aside), but whenever I see Pigs hands, they are just so thick fingered and manly. Surprisingly even Huntress's large hands still have that feminine shape to them, which really makes me wonder why our little piggy was the one singled out for such a sausage-esque fat fingered treatment? Wait, pig... sausage... I just answered my own question didn't I?
9 -
You have no idea how much I would pay for that.
7 -
How garbage the report system is and the fact that any players that have access to the chat box can say very shady things and get away with it. I don't know why this isn't a thing, but dodgy words or phrases such as slurs, insults, and threats that players type into the endgame chat should be blacklisted and automatically sent to BHVR's moderators to be looked at instead of players having to manually do it themselves
14 -
Plague's already abysmal BP gain is about to drop to such levels that I can't come with an adjective to describe it. She might actually slip into negatives and start loosing BP per match
6 -
map design for sure , and some useless offering not helping with the grind. (there is a green offering that increases bloodpoints of every player up to 100% and there other "GREEN" offering that increases the same but 25% and ONLY for suvivors , how that makes sense🤔
1 -
That Unbreakable falls in the same category as old MoM in that it requires very little skill to use. But it at least does require the killer to not pick you up? I'm not saying its a broken perk, but it does feel weird to reward a survivor for losing a chase.
5 -
Adept Killer. Way too hard and moreso, luck dependant. Change it to a 4k or single pip.
Diversion. Same games happen where you don't even get enough terror radius to use it (against Myers, Ghost Face, Wraith, Sadako). Start people with one pebble, and then use the terror radius as a means to replace it.
That it's an elimination game. I've posted this a few times recently and I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I think a lot of the issues and us vs them come from the fact that this is an elimination game. Survivors of course don't want to get camped or tunneled and killers know that often times they're best means of winning is to tunnel or camp. If this game was time based (survivors need to power gens within 10-12 minutes and hooks slowed down gens in terms of a survivor needs to unhook plus a percentage increase to gen repair speed) it would promote killers leaving the hook to push the remaining survivors off gens. If gens aren't completed in time, killer wins if gens are completed, end game is still a thing and at that point survivors can be mori-able. But everyone is guaranteed to play the game (actually play it) instead of getting tossed out four minutes into the game.
Map offerings/variety - I don't think survivors should be able to play map offerings. I think killers should be able to. I think they should program games where there is no map offering in a way where it's impossible to play the same map twice in a row.
RPD. Kill switch this until it's reworked. Then probably kill switch it again, because no offense, but I have no trust in the devs to make this map enjoyable at all.
Edit: one last thing. Kobe/unhook attempts. They should cost in game blood points. Very rarely does it even make sense to Kobe. Most people are just dickbags that want to Kobe in your face for blood points (if you do this, you should stop) or they're trying to leave the game without disconnecting. Make the attempts cost 8k blood points that you've earned in game. Oh, you got downed 15 seconds in the game and now you're salty and want to Kobe yourself to death. Get effed. You can't because you don't have any blood points to spend. Sooooorryy. Make the second stage missed skill checks cost blood point instead of shortening the hook timer too. Maybe not as much, but you should not have such easy access to throw the game for everyone else because PvP games are too hard for you. Play single player games and close out the app whenever you're a salty little wimp. Save the PvP for people that can actually hang.
Edit 2: protection stacks for WGLF and Mettle of Man. If course with WGLF it's about to be a moot point, but I'd actually use Mettle of Man a lot more if I didn't have to be up to my nuts in guts rear-ending a fellow survivor in order to gain a stack. I had a match yesterday where I took two protection hits and neither registered. I must have been at most 6 meters away when I took those hits. Like c'mon. If they're in chase and you take a hit, it really shouldn't even matter what the distance is, you're literally protecting the other survivor and you should get credit for taking the damn hit. You should have to bump and grind up against them to get the stack. Fix this.

It's not going away either because all the newest maps are extremely survivor-sided like Eyrie of Crows and Garden of Joy. Jury's kind of out on Haddonfield, but IMO there really aren't any killer-sided maps in DbD besides maybe Shelter Woods, Azarov's, and Wrecker's yard. Even then shelter woods is large and I've seen it spawn some disgusting setups
0 -
Actions not registering.
Whether it is to hook someone, to drop a pallet, to break it, vault, DH, and so on not registering when you actually press its button, instead you have to spam it for it to actually work. Which is on both sides killer/survivor just as frustrating. And it's not always ping related or due to hit-validation.
5 -
Survivor bugs. You can’t see anything when someone is hooked and you have kindred, maps showing nothing 3 of 4 times,...
0 -
Base Gen regression... being what it is isn't enough to stop Killers from running 2 or more Gen regression perks
Making an adjustment to that would be better then what they did

The fact that BHVR blatantly misled people about MMR in the two years leading up to its official rework and then it somehow got swept under the rug extremely fast... It was proven by both data-miners and the Devs themselves that its the same exact MMR system that they scrapped years ago aka the whole thing was a flop. According to them, they scrapped the old one specifically because it only focused on escapes and kills and they felt that it wasn't doing enough, but now here we are in 2022 where they went live on Twitch bragging about how the current system only tracks escapes and kills. Remember guys, its like Hockey....
They probably saw messiness in their spaghetti code and said yeah, screw delivering the revamped system we've been advertising lol just reskin the one we tossed away and they'll never notice. I'll delete my forum account right now if a Mod or Dev comes here and says they can't possibly pull an archived thread out from 2021 where either Peanits or another dev replied to people's MMR posts saying something along the lines of
"We understand the frustration, but please be patient with us. The reason we haven't added MMR yet or formally addressed it is because we're being extra cautious about not making mistakes we made with the last version(s) we attempted. The one we scrapped after testing it for select weekends focused on escapes and kills and we felt that it wasn't producing very good matchmaking results. We're working on something more complex than that and it will make more sense when we release the official announcements. Stay tuned!"
It wouldn't have been an issue if they were just transparent, but they handled it very poorly and somehow all it takes is a few meh licensed chapters with some new Bikini cosmetics to make everybody forget. I would never accuse a Mod/Dev or namedrop anybody specific that's associated with BHVR/DBD if there wasn't actual evidence of it. This is a legitimate thing that happened and I'm struggling to find that post now. I'm sure it was deleted or archived

Vertical hits. When I’m hit falling from a height I want to uninstall this game

The cenobite chain mechanic being overpowered especially paired with gen pressure addons and hex builds. I had a match last night against a cenobite with a full hex build and it was nearly impossible to get gens done on top of having to deal with the hexes and the box to prevent chains.
5 -
Dead dawg is killer sided barring the main building and suffocation pit can be if gens spawn correctly.
A,so indoor maps but that’s kinda killer dependent
0 -
Auto aim hitting pallets/walls instead of the survivors.
20 -
I would have agreed with you pre CoH about Dead Dawg. You can get nice 3 and 4 gen setups if you ignore the Saloon, but they can just boon that up and win the war of attrition. I HATE Suffocation Pit with a passion. Strong building on one side and the other side has shack with filler pallets into the absurdly strong middle section
2 -
A lot survivors got way, way better at this game and looping, then the game ever accounted for. There is always this survivor that you somehow end up chasing that runs each and every loop absolutely perfect and that are nearly impossible to catch up to. And they can greed each and every palette to the absolute max. like they are the rarest of resource, even though there are still 20+ others lying around.
This totally turns the concept of "palettes are the survivors ammunition. They must expend them early-mid game in order to stay alive, turning most parts of the map into dead zones for the end game" totally on its head and might easily result in games of 1-2 hooks, 0k.
I don't know how to tackle this problem, though. I for example can't run the killer this way, when I play survivor. Sometimes I am decent and can run them for 1-2 gens, but I'll expend a lot of palettes on the way.
Maybe pallet generation and spawns should be a dynamic process that's tied to your previous games performance, ie the soloQ dude who dies 60/40% of the time adds more pallets to the pool then the 3 SWF who got a 85% escape rate.
5 -
A big part about Dead Hard that makes it so unfun is simply that you have to wait every time you want to down a survivor
3 -
How poorly designed Plague's puke hits are handled.
It looks like a flamethrower, but has invisible chunks in the stream and only the invisible chunks count. Terrible design.
7 -
The best part of every chase is the moment when you finally catch up to your prey, savoring the second before you strike... and then another... and then they DH to safety and smack a pallet in your face. That's some quality killer moment right there.

The Shrine of Secrets is disgustingly outdated, and instead of doing a single thing to address the issue, BHVR is going to make it even more obnoxious with the upcoming chapter. It's actually hilarious that they're telling us we can get a perk at automatic Level 3 just by purchasing it in the Shrine three separate times. One of Deathslinger's perks, yes, a killer that came out in 2020, took until last month to appear in the Shrine for the very first time. But thank you so much BHVR, we're all so grateful that we might be able to have it at Tier 3 in time for the 10th anniversary. Maybe we'll shoot for the 12th anniversary to finally get Soul Guard to that point, a perk which has now also been in the game for two full years without a single Shrine appearance, but then let's not get too hasty.

Tricksters Power. There is either nothing you can do to counter it or it is weak as hell on tall loops.
His power needs to be looked at again.
6 -
Infectious fright and knock out being unhealthy for the game

I will guess you will pay:

Far more...
2 -
Yes, this. So aggravating.

The #1 thing never talked about, and I believe if more players knew, it would be a hot topic, is the killer lag advantage. Unless The Killer has a ping of 300 or higher and excluding Dead Hard and Pallets (validated), hits are handled on The Killer's end. This is inherently unfair to Survivors that often suffer from the latency advantage granted to killers in perpetuity. It's often referred to as Favor The Killer; the server isn't the authority, providing an immense benefit to killers at the expense of survivors.
Check out: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/303696/busting-some-hit-registration-myths/ for an incredible analysis by @zarr about those topics and to learn more.

Map Design. I think it's talked about a decent amount but not enough.
1 -
This, a thousand times over.
Whatever aim-assist (or whatever one wants to call it) that's programmed into this game is hot garbage. Nothing is more frustrating than taking a swing at someone right in the middle of your screen in front of you and seeing your weapon getting yanked into some inanimate object.
The game truly thinks I hate random piles of junk, walls, pallets, and the like.
4 -
Agreed.
Also, something nobody ever talks about but is a huge issue... How is there all this moonlight on these maps but no moon??!
You have an entity that can create entire realms based on the thoughts in people's minds, but draws the line at a ######### moon? Like that's it's main weakness is it can't create 2D circles? Lol
1 -
Spotty optimization from the get go, and terrible on console in particular.
4 -
I just REALLY hate the notification bubble when a loud noise (hooked survivor) happens. Makes it a little difficult to see and interrupts certain perks.
9 -
NOED not applying the Exposed status effect in the correct manner. Same goes for Devour Hope.
0 -
most killers are really bad to play on console gameplay
8 -
Hooks being gone forever after a survivor is killed. It is a feature that doesn't make sense and forces you to let the survivor bleed out in some scenarios.
Also, Eruption and Call of Brine should make the generator white instead of yellow since they basically make Surveillance and Discordance useless.
7 -
I don’t see many people talking about something good for the start of a match for killers. There needs to be something basekit that slows the gens until a killer can find their first victim. 90 second gens aren’t going to cut it.
Also another problem is the fact there’s not enough Spirit players :(
4 -
So you like infinites, no Exhaustion nerfs, double pallets, Spirit and 5 blink Nurse? Oh, and old Freddy that was unhealthy for both sides of the game.
Just about the only thing that is really worthy being missed is the "art style" that they were going for originally that they mentioned with the older Survivors. The "spray" style, or whatever. It's still in perk icons and every icon in DBD.
I would like to see skins that resemble these tbh.
1 -
That is your opinion, mate.
I have my own.
1 -
Sure, the last bit was my opinion, but saying you like "everything about old DBD" means you like everything I just described.
