There really needs to be something done about the DCs/quitting first hook.

In order to prevent my braincells from dying a horrible death and keeping the value of my time high I will continue to sewerslide on first hook whenever I deem my soloq team to be of a substantially subpar quality. Fix MMR or I will continue to do so and there is nothing that can be done about it.

Games where a survivor ragequits early is a wasted game for the killer too. I’d rather have a longer queue time than to waste games because of rage quitters.

It's not always ragequitting. It's tactical retreat for the purpose of efficient time management. The only one raging are the people who can't stop calling it ragequitting.

My most recent games that had DCs and ragequitting on hook were against M1 killers on the Game, Lery's, Coldwind and the Swamp. How does your theory that DCs would decrease if they nerfed Nurse and Alchemist's Ring match that? How would your proposed changes reduce that?

I’m lucky, I guess, because the only time I see survivors DC in solo queue is when they’re tunneled off hook. They don’t even DC if they’re being camped. I’ve seen it a couple of times with slugging but even then it’s very rare.

Its mostly happens because a trash killer camp or tunnel in first hook. The solution is simple, doing something to prevent early face camp or tunnel in the game.
Or bring back old Borrowed Time with a tweaked duration, like 5 seconds of endurance to the unhooker instead of the crazy 25 seconds it had before it was changed. That would prevent hooks trade off for killers that face camp, as a side effect this would mitigate DCs a lot, besides tunneling and camping.

Hate to break it to you, but if you're willing to ragequit over bad teammates then MMR is working exactly as intended if you keep getting them.

its true, though. If you are willingly taking L's that could be W's then you are lowering your MMR, especially since its metric is based on escapes/deaths. And the wider the gap between your MMR and the killer's, the more yours goes down with each death.
It makes perfect sense for you to be paired more consistently with bad players, because thats the outcome you're forcing on yourself. Works as intended.

I don't mean they should allow unlimited unhooks. Just that you still only get 3 attempts. It just doesn't progress you to stage 2 straight away

League and ow will suspend you for weeks if you rack up DCs in a short amount of time. And those games are far bigger than dbd. Just because it's dbd doesn't mean you shouldn't get real punishment for leaving a pvp game you queued up for, this mentality is incorrect.

I think once someone DCs the game should start a vote, first the remaining Survivors vote if the match keeps going, if 2 or more vote no the game ends, if 2 or more vote yes then the Killer gets to vote, if Killer votes no the game ends. If a game ends by vote all offerings get refunded, no addons lost, people keep their current BPs (offerings not apply) and everyone gets sent to the lobby.
This could apply to hook suicides if the game keeps track of KOBE atempts and forfeit struggle skillchecks.

What about me as a killer player though, in this system do I get matched against these DC lobby's? I pretty much get off the game right after someone kills themselves or DCs. The game just turns into work at the point, no competitiveness behind it at all. It's still crazy to me how many of the people on these forums don't understand how bad DC's are for game health and that pretty much all other pvp games will suspend you for weeks after enough leading into perma bans.
Like guys League is literally the biggest game in the world and they make you agree to not leave game's after ONE DC. It takes like 3 DC's to get a suspension for weeks into a perma ban if more accumulate. Balance does not revolve around DC's in any way and you people who are defending it baffle me. Once you hit ready, you are saying "I want to play this game". "You can't make people play a game they don't want to" That's correct but they have already agreed to play and should not be welcomed if they decide they don't after they are in the match already.

Regardless of why you DC yeah you will be matched together. Though this wouldn't be after one DC is would add up over time, this is the only thing they can do besides permanent bans tbh.
And yeah it's crazy how entitled some people are, they just dont have the ability to think about others or beyond their own mindset. It HAS to go their way or they throw a fit, doesnt matter how stupid it is they will stick by it... legit had someone rage quit because I hit them twice with basic attacks as doc without shocking, he insulted me and doc no skill, easy mode etc. Yet this guy got hit by the most basic of attacks possible and still quit and blamed me...
Ew, is that where all the bad entitled players hang out? Must be kinda smelly... I guess slides are fun?

DCs has gone up since the meta shake up patch. Maybe bhvr should hurry up and get working on those HUD icons rather than putting their all their attention into a Mori rework.
Also did they lower the DC penalty timer?

Most of you are taking the game too seriously ! how can you even think about perma ban or even month ban ?? there is no real fix about it.
just go next game and have fun, overreacting is always bad and make no sense for a game that you bought and invest some money into it.
the BANS should be only used for Insults , rascism ,cheating or something like this NOT for d/c issues wich temp bans are made for.
stop think ppl will be perfect and be as you are because it's you the problem who think we need to ban for x reason, you want everyone quit that game ? youre in the good way.

Killers get to pre-screen lobbies and dodge anything they don't want to play against.
Let survivors see the killer and add ons in pregame lobby and see how long it takes to start a match as double range nurse or blight with any combination of his many broken add ons.

BT endurance should be separate from the other mutually exclusive endurance perks. Then, killers couldn't hit you immediately off hook and wipe out BT, OTR, and Dead Hard.
In addition, if the devs plan on keeping the OP gen regression stacking perks in their current form, hook states need to take longer to progress. It's far too easy to face camp an early hook and have a 3v1 at 2 gens.

One of the ways to lower the rate at which people DC is to give people enough information as to whether or not they want to play a match before it starts.
Currently if I play as the killer, and an SWF team enters the lobby and I don’t want to play against them I can leave the lobby before the game starts and find a different lobby.
You don’t get that information as a survivor. So when I have played two games back to back with a tunneling wraith right from game start, chances are when the third game starts up and I realize it’s the wraith yet again, I’m not gonna be too enthusiastic about playing that game. And this somehow makes me the bad guy?
As a survivor you basically don’t get the option to decide what games you play. Killers can dodge lobbies all day until they find one that they are comfortable with. As a survivor you just have to wait and see what you get. Not having that information is definitely one of the reasons for the high amount of DC.
