An unknown error occurred everytime I tried to play with friends

Before the Christmas update, I am able to play perfectly fine with my friends in the public lobby. Recently, every time I tried to play with them there was a notice of 'an unknown error happened' or something like that but this never happens when I play as a survivor in the solo queue with random players. Do take note that my wifi is working fine. I hope there's a fix to this.

    Is it happening every time, or only with specific friends but not others? Sometimes restarting the game might help, or changing your online status (platform eg on Steam). Do you both have the same crossplay option enabled?
