Chase Detection

In a match as the Hillbilly on Ironworks of Misery today I encountered an issue with chase detection. Throughout the entire game I did not start a single chase. I ran after the survivors and got hits but the chase never actually started. This happened again in the game after that as the Cannibal on Lery's Memorial Institute.
I am not sure yet, what triggers this bug and I haven't been able to recreate it after the second game. So far this seems to be a rare occurence as it didn't happen for me until today.

I have used different builds and it happened a few more times (full stealth, full aura reading, full chase). It also happened once without me running any perks at all. It seems that it's not directly connected to the perks the killer runs.
I have encountered this issue as Billy, Bubba and Clown so far and I know from a friend that it can also be triggered with Pig.

I have encontered this issue when playing legion. Same thing chase didn't start.
