This buff for Onryo is needed
- I think that many killer mains can agree that the most boring thing that killer can see in the game it's when 4 survivors are constantly hiding and you can't find them even with perks (because survivors have perks to hide their auras, screams etc.). Onryo's power must prevent these situations to punish survivors for this type of gameplay but when survivors take vhs tape and constantly hiding you can't do nothing with them you literally can't do nothing.
- Finally when you'll find them you'll give them only 2 stacks per hit when, since they would probably avoid like 3-4 stacks already in the normal game and even more if they really want to abuse game mechanic.
- I think that survivor should have a limit time for insert the vhs tape into tv and if they don't do it in the time - they must get at least one stack.
- It's literally like Trapper without traps but even in these times survivors had to bring toolboxes to broke his traps and Trapper could be ready for this and just left lobby. Onryo can't prevent this.

I haven't considered the option of hiding against oreo with a tape. It sounds like hell to play against that.
Tbh, easy fix:
If a survivor keeps a tape for longer than X time, get killer instinct on that survivor.

"I think that survivor should have a limit time for insert the vhs tape into tv and if they don't do it in the time - they must get at least one stack."
This is just the old tape mechanics but worse. In my opinion BHVR should reverse the changes to how tapes work as well as the global condemn. It was a lot more interesting when survivors holding tapes were slowly getting curse by it and gaining condemn overtime. It also created some interesting strategy and counterplay for both sides. I would suggest a buff though that if a survivor is fully condemned and has a tape in their hand, then they are exposed and can't just unload a tape in Onryo's face. It would result in survivors needing to be more proactive about tapes and thus engage which the mechanic even more which everyone seems to love.
Also before anyone says that the old way tapes worked left no interaction with her power:
1- teleporting nearby and getting stacks was a part of her power.
2- You could always take a tape to deny her quickly teleporting to a almost finished gen or unhook.
3- Against a good Onryo you would have to eventually do a tape run or risk getting condemned
4- It was not any different than Plagues fountains; I never hear any survivors saying Plague isn't fun to go against because they have no reason to interact with her fountains. Her old tape mechanics were risk reward and played out just fine.
5- Right now her tapes are just, take a tape and hold it till you get hit, repeat and eventually drop off if condemn is a threat. Her old tape mechanics where they did not get broken actually created some interesting gameplay compared to her current tape mechanics that are just boring and simplistic.

In this discussion I posted some of my ideas, which I think would help her much and make her a cool killer again.
Feel free to leave a comment.
