Buff or Add new perks that help with gen regression.
Hello Devs,
Now that we have the feature that blocks a gen from being kicked after 8 regression events, there either needs to be buffs for existing anti-gen perks or new perks that cause significant gen regression. Gone are the days of hour long matches and strong slow regression. Now though, we have matches where it swings wildly to it being over quickly in some scenarios because the momentum stays in the survivor's favor for a good portion of the trial.
Pain resonance shouldn't be the only perk that causes loss of progression by a large amount with only 4 tokens.
Pop goes the weasel loses value now as a trial goes on because once the gen gets blocked off it doesn't matter if I get my hook I can't use it anymore and 30% of CURRENT progress is not worth it still unless somehow we can stop progression when its near completion. This is rare.
Eruption has very little impact with its 10% loss with these changes because survivors will just focus the gen anyways after the loss making the time gained negligible. It is also not a huge advantage seeing a survivor for 12 seconds across the map when I am a killer that has basic mobility and all I see them doing for those 12 seconds is repair the generator I just damaged. Gearhead already gives us aura reading, Eruption having this is redundant and should be changed to something else.
Surge is hit or miss since it relies so much on positioning and can be strong on certain killers such as Deathslinger due to him being able to bring a survivor back into range of generator with his power. Overall, I don't think it would hurt though to make it do more damage because eventually it will do nothing to the gen anyways.

Nah dude, we really don't need more Gen regression... If you delay the game by that much that the 8 regression events are reached then you cannot really blame the perks anymore...

Builds with gen regression have ~70% killrate.
It shouldn't be buffed, those perks should be nerfed, as BHVR balances game around 60% killrate.

Not delaying the game. It is more the perks need to provide more value as they don't give enough time back when used before a gen is allowed to be repaired fully when blocked by the entity.
Its fine though, I don't expect everyone to accept the idea because they haven't experienced the things I have.

I wouldn't trust nightlight stats for balancing decisions since its guaranteed polarized towards better players, you don't see bad players going out of their way to make sure their stats and builds are recorded

I like the idea of more effective regression perks (outside of the meta of course) so heres a new perk and a change I would make to surge
New perk (generic) All in the wrist
Basic attacks can now apply regression to generators (5% and any activate perk effects)(aka just smack a gen with an m1 faster than a kick and keeps you more mobile)
After damaging a survivor by any means this perk activates for the next 30s the next time you would damage a gen 2.5% bonus regression is applied to it this effect then has a cooldown of 40/35/30s
This would give killers a generic option of slowdown to start integrating it into their toolbox as a new player and become accustomed to the idea of gen slowdown and defense perks while giving experienced killers a good springboard for gen perk effects and faster gameplay
Surge additional effect "pity buff"
If there are no gens within 32m the closest gen with progress is affected instead, aka unless no gens on the map have progress a surge proc can never whiff due to big maps or gen deadzones

Except the balance idea is horrible. Game should be fair, not kill rates. Kill rates are just a lazy way to look at it. If the game is fair then people will just improve by playing more - not the other way around like now where so many survivors have atrophied skills because they get handed easy levels with lots of escapes.
I bet if you removed 20% of the pallets on each board, or removed 20% of the escapes, survivor win rates would plummet by more than 20%.. Thats a problem.

Sure, but it also does not need to be a half an hour slug where there are no resources on the map anymore, but the killer still has lots of regression... We already had that type of gameplay with ruin undying in it's first version..
Game length currently and the amount that the good regression perks delay the game are alright as they are... Sure more viable options would be great but I don't think the good ones need further buffs.

"Not fair that a killer in insta-grab me at the hook!" - Got rid of that mechanic!
"It's not fair that a game last too long!" - This is the killer's fault, punish them instead of punishing the survivor who jets within seconds of barely seeing the killer on the other side of the screen.

It's literally impossible to make it hour long slug with regression limits, even with stronger regression perks

It's not really his fault in that sense.... I just don't think that that is the type of gameplay we would want... As we already had those really long games...

don't think he's asking to regression to be stronger. he's asking for more variety in said perks.
for example, What if Surge was 48 meters instead of 32 meters. OP probably looking for Surge, Oppression, Eruption and that new perk to get buffs.
