Chem trap

I tried to use Chem trap in alot of games and have not been able to place it. The perk will light up after I have worked on a gen. Then I go to a dropped pallet and try to place it and I will not get a prompt button. No option pops up to place trap.

Have you edited your key/button bindings? If there's overlap, it won't give you the option to place a trap. It's very annoying how the input bindings are done in DbD.

Wow, that's a quick response. I reported this issue back in March and never got any official response :( Another player made a new forum account a month later just to respond and make sure I wasn't still struggling with the issue.

My problem turned out to be that the game keeps growing without giving players any hints that these things are happening behind the scenes. I had rebound my buttons immediately upon starting the game back in 2018, changing the vault button to square or something (having vaulting/dropping pallets AND healing bound to the same button is the worst default DbD could have, players should immediately change it). Years later, DbD added an "Activate ability 2" (very vague) input binding, with no hints what that means, nothing to let players know this was now a thing and to check their input bindings and make sure nothing overlaps, and so the vault option was overriding the option to place Chemical Trap.
