Knock Out Change makes no sense. Epic Flavor Fail! Suggested changes and new stuff
I get what the devs are trying to do, but it makes absolutely no sense the new effect (When a Survivor drops a pallet, if they move 6m away from it within 6s they gain 5% Hindered for 3/4/5s) is for knock out. What does pallets have anything to do with being knocked out? It's an absolute flavor fail. Even the flavor text and the new effect have no correlation:
The trauma caused by your brutal attacks makes crying for help painfully difficult.
Here are the first possible changes that came to mind that keep Knock Out's flavor without being too busted and still functional for a killer to run it:
- Easiest solution: Remove "blocks their Aura from being revealed to any Survivor, who is farther than 32/24/16 metres away from them."
- Putting a Survivor into the Dying State reduces their visibility drastically (basically like dredge's nightfall) and suffer from the Blindness and Oblivious status effect until they get fully healed.
- Putting a Survivor into the Dying State causes the survivor to suffer from a -10/-15/-20 % Hindered status effect and the Deafened and Exhausted status effect until they get fully healed.
- Putting a Survivor into the Dying State reduces their Crawling and Recovery speeds by -50/-75/-100 % for the next 15 seconds. Your Terror Radius transfers to that survivor until they recover from the dying state, and its radius is set to 32 metres.
- Putting a Survivor into the Dying State applies the following effect to that survivor: After being healed from or having recovered from the Dying State, you suffer from the Hindered status effect for 20/25/30 seconds.
- Putting a Survivor into the Dying State disables 1/2/3 of their perks at random until fully healed.
- Survivors in the dying state take 100/150/200 % more time to recover from the dying state.
- If you get stunned while carrying a survivor, that survivor is put into the dying state 5/4/3 seconds after that. Permanently increases the duration of Killer Blinds by any means and the duration of Pallet Stuns by +100 %.
These don't prevent the other survivors from finding the downed survivor, and give a bit of strategy to actually knocking down survivors.
Note that the effects are not just with basic attacks, so It's more flavorful.
I'd even press to have these perks and also have unbreakable/no mither recovery as base kit and Deerstalker as base kit.
Here would be the updated perks now that they would be base kit:
Deerstalker base kit:
The Auras of all Survivors in the Dying State within 12 metres of your location are revealed to you.
Deerstalker Perk:
The Auras of all Survivors in the Dying State are revealed to you an additional 20/28/36 metres.
Unbreakable/No mither Base Kit
Allows you to fully recover from the Dying State.
Perks affected by the survivor base kit change:
No Mither:
The following effects apply permanently during the Trial:
Suffer from the Broken Status Effect.
Suppresses the creation of Pools of Blood.
Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain while either in the Injured or the Dying State by 25/50/75 %.
Blocks your Aura from being revealed to the killer until you fully recover from the dying state.
Increases your Recovery speed by 30/40/50 %.
Unbreakable:
Once per game, you may press the Active Ability button to recover instantly from the Dying state and gain a +100 % Haste Status Effect for 3/4/5 seconds.
Plot Twist:
While crouching and motionless, press the Active Ability button to silently enter the Dying State with the following benefits:
Blocks your Aura from being revealed to the killer until you fully recover from the dying state.
Suppresses Grunts of Pain.
Suppresses Pools of Blood.
Your Recovery speed is increased by 25/30/35 %.
After full recovery using Plot Twist, you are healed instantly and gain a +50 % Haste Status Effect for 2/3/4 seconds.
Plot Twist deactivates after recovering yourself by any means and reactivates once more once the Exit Gates are powered.
Soul Guard:
After being healed from or having recovered from the Dying State, you benefit from the following effect:
Grants the Endurance Status Effect for 4/6/8 seconds.
Endurance is cancelled prematurely when performing a Conspicuous Action.
While suffering from the Cursed Status Effect, your Recovery speed is increased by 30/40/50 %.
Soul Guard has a cool-down of 30 seconds.
Boon: Exponential
Press and hold the Active Ability button on a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem.
Soft chimes ring out in a radius of 24 metres.
All Survivors benefit from the following effects when inside the Boon Totem's radius:
100/110/120 % bonus to the Recovery speed.
Recovering yourself from the dying state grants you a 15/20/25 % speed bonus in Altruistic Healing for 5/10/15 seconds.
Healing a survivor in the dying state to injured grants them a +50 % Haste Status Effect for 2/3/4 seconds.
Survivors can only be affected by one instance of Boon: Exponential at a time.
Feel free to also make these ideas into new perks as well… We're lacking interesting perks, and getting new General perks would be incredibly useful for the game.
