The devs are working hard
it may seem like they are ignoring the community but remember that there are so many different things they are working on that the issue that’s bothering you won’t be fixed super quickly.
There are only so many devs for one game and a ton of bugs for them to fix.
There are the Ghouls hitboxes, Skull merchants rework, anti tunnel, anti camp, map reworks, along with the next chapter they are working on. This doesn’t even bring up the bugs on existing killers and the work they are taking on cosmetics and also the buffs and nerfs they give out.
The devs are people not robots and deserve empathy cause they are working hard to fix a asym game with 38 killers with unique powers and hundreds of perks where a small number change could end up terrible.

Yes I think you are correct. I purchased Xeno on release and you could tail whip across the board lol. A week later is quietly nerfed. Now it's trash for console but I still like playing him. You can always see when they quietly nerf or buff something. At least I can because I don't main anything.

They could make a small post with: "We are working currently on ……, because we understand the issues you guys have. Please be patient."
Going completely silent is never a good response to issues.

but the guy who sits at home and plays videogames for a living on the youtubes & twitches told me they aren't, and the community at large told me i'm supposed to be angry at the videogame & the human beings that make it :(

this is literally all I want when it comes to issues <3 like I love the livestreams and the Q and As
Obviously some people will never be happy.
On the other hand what I don't like is when someone posts a huge post about the flashbang change and how it may be heavy handed, and we get told it's a BUG and not a BALANCE CHANGE, coz it comes across as the people behind the game are incompetent to not notice a bug for years (That said I'm not saying it shouldn't have happened).7 -
that would be Awsome. Just the little bit of knowledge that the community is heard

I know radio silence from the devs can be frustrating, but I believe they are working hard to make the game better. Even small things like showing the number of items / addons that you have left from today's hotfix patch:
We all know there are biger fish to fry, but I think players sometimes don't appreciate how long these bigger issues can take to fix (especially with DBD's legendary spaghetti code). This is the kind of game where changing one little variable could give the Nurse infinite blinks or something else just as absurd.

forgive me if i come off as ranty (because i'm feeling it) and circulating negativity around even more, but honestly the problem for me is that it's not even about expecting empathy from this community it's just about common sense.
if you've been paying attention, quite a few people have left/been laid off or had their position in the company switched around this past year or so. that's not to mention all the others that have come and go during this game's lifespan (Matt (the OG map guy), McLean, not_Queen, Patrick, etc etc) that invariably slows things down. and those are just the high profile people we know about, that's not even factoring in how new hires are getting along or personal goings on that we will never know about. it's all connected and the end result (the videogame) is a product of the goings on not just at the company, but the individual lives of the people working there.
and quite frankly when we didn't get a pre-live update post (which they talked about, mentioning tight deadlines) & how Ryan just posted about how they'd hoped communication on the Skull Merchant could've come out sooner, i just don't see how people can immediately start griping about BHVR not communicating ABCDEFGXYZ thing at the specific time that they want. like they've made it clear that they're busy and they're not prepared to officially address every little thing on behalf of the wider development team.
like, just assume they're aware of Ghoul (unlike the dozens of reddit comments I've seen being like "oh where are the Ghoul nerfs" even though we rarely ever get balance changes in the first hotfix). assume they're aware that the event isn't living up to everyone's expectations (I understand the disappointment though, especially after last year's event also having problems to the point where the offering was disabled the entire time). if you want to keep posting about that sure, go ahead. they have a feedback system you should make use of.
but complaining about communication when they're actively communicating why the communication is slower…that's a you issue at that point.

I'm sure they worked very hard including one of the worst killers ever designed along with one of the worst events ever designed.
But that doesn't make anything better.

You can tell things aren’t going well when there’s just total radio silence from BHVR. They see the player base with torches and pitchforks outside the windows, but instead of going outside to talk to them, they’re shutting the curtains and hiding inside

"it may seem"... oh sweet innocence
you really think they'll do any nerfs before they reach the target sales?

I would have hoped they would have taken feedback on this event more seriously. I know it's only the third day but I already feel kinda… over it. Both sides.
