The Pied Piper is a jovial stranger with unclear intentions, using their magical instrument to enchant those around them.

Difficulty Rating: TBD

The legend dates back to the middle ages. The earliest references describe a piper, dressed in multicoloured ("pied") clothing, who was a rat catcher hired by townsfolk to lure rodents away with their magic pipe. When the citizens refused or were unable to pay for this service as promised, they retaliated by using their instrument's magical power on their children, leading them away as they had the vermin.

Unique perks -

  • Harsh Trill: You make beautiful music no doubt, but you know how to utilize the ugly notes as well.

When a survivor becomes injured by any means they scream, any survivors within your terror radius scream as well and reveal their aura for 5 seconds. Perk has a cooldown of 90/60/30 seconds

  • Poco a poco: You like to take things slow, building up to a momentous finale.

For each generator you damage for the first time gain a token (up to 7), Once all remaining generators have been damaged once. Call upon the entity to block all generators for 5 seconds for each token. Poco a poco can only activate once per trial

  • Moving Elegy: Even the most joyous pipers lament at times.

Increases the volume of Grunts of Pain of survivors in the Injured State by 30/40/50%. Moving Elegy does not effect survivors suffering from Exhaustion but does not cause the Exhausted Status Effect.

Weapon: Persuasive Pipe

The Persuasive Pipe is the Primary Weapon of The Pied Piper

A masterfully designed flute, crafted to charm anyone who hears it's musical notes.

Power: Charming Tune

Special Ability: Rat Attack!

The Pied Piper sends a wave of rats as a projectile that move at 14 m/s, rats can not go through walls but will follow slopes/stairs and fall off of ledges. They have a maximum range of 20 meters and have a 10 second cooldown.

Special Affliction: Bitten twice

Upon impact, rats disperse, then coalesce nearby into a amorphous "rat king" ; rat kings slowly wander the surrounding area and then disappear after 90 seconds. Upon contact with a "rat king" survivors are bitten and inflicted with the hemorrhage status effect. The pied piper can only have up to 3 rat kings active at the same time

AND/OR

SPECIAL ABILITY: PFEIFER

Press and hold the Secondary Power button to open the Song Selection Move the cursor towards one of three available Songs in order to select it:

Special affliction: Allegro

You as well as any survivors within your terror radius are given the haste status effect for a short time. During this time survivors are given the oblivious status

Special affliction: Adagio

You as well as any survivors within your terror radius are given the hindered status effect for a short time. During this time you are given the undetectable status

Special affliction: Cadenza

The survivor you are currently in chase with - alternatively the survivor you chased last becomes the obsession they are given the deafened status effect for a short time. Their aura is revealed to you during this time

Note: Hopefully - pretty clearly a rough draft, any suggestions making this idea more feasible are more than welcome! I had a vision of playing haunting flute music while chasing survivors and potentially attacking via a horde of rats. Figured others might agree that it's a cool prospect and it lead me to come up with this very loose idea. I also happen to have an extreme affinity for ruffly extravagant medieval entertainer attire so seeing a character made specifically for that sort of visual design coming to dbd would be a dream come true. Perks and power(s) were designed with the intention of bringing something new to the table by slightly modifying pre existing perks and power(s) as well as trying to fit the theme of the character. I'm almost certain they have some glaring issues but alas that is why I am not a dev and (for the most part) try to keep my mouth shut when it comes to serious suggestions/feedback on balancing issues.
