Opinions on new quest system, rift pass and lore
Sorry! It's a long one! But first of all, I think the new quest system is great! Apart from a couple things:
1- It's very hard to level up and the amount of rift fragments are not enough! It's a very new player friendly system and easy to learn and get used to, however, casual players won't be able to level up enough to even finish the rift at all, without the matches themselves giving rift fragments and having to depend on the dailies; most players can't play everyday! Is not worth it to buy the rift if you don't even have enough time to play and do daily quests every day. I don't want to sound too demanding, but the amount of Iridescent Shards for quests is also extremely small, and doesn't add up to anything worth it unless the next weeks yet to come have better quests and better rewards! Which is what we don't know yet, of course, so my opinions might just be ignorant. Speaking of, I hope and really want the team to add to the quest system the more interesting and fun quests! Like glyphs, and character/perk specific challenges. Those are great.
2- I don't understand why the team wants to get rid of the Tomes entirely (eventually). I think keeping the Tomes is a way to keep the years of history of the game alive and at hand for both old and new players to see and interact with, including the old challenges. A lot of people would have the goal to fully complete them and go through them and just have fun with the older and harder challenges! I know the devs said the Lore would still be available, but apart from that, people like to see the things that came before and be able to interact with old stuff from the game. Keeps the game unique and different and its history alive, imo. Also, having to do with that, I'm sure you've seen the worries players have about the Lore and what's coming regarding it. We all hope is something that stays relevant and not pushed aside. It's a mistake done before by other games and it's always really upsetting to see.
Anyway! That's it. Thank you so much to the DBD team for everything you guys do and all your effort!
