Better define what "Killer Belongings" are in-game
There's already a bug report out about maps not being able to track chests despite them being 'killer belongings'.
You can prove this by equipping the following 3 maps, and trying to track chests:
- Normal Map with Red Twine add-on (Add-on that tracks 'killer belongings')
- Rainbow Map (Automatically tracks 'killer belongings')
- Bloodsense Map (Automatically tracks 'killer belongings')
You'll see it just doesn't work. At best it tracks totems, and a few other killer belongings, such as trapper traps, but not chests. To save you the time, I have a video that shows these 3 maps being unable to track chests here:
Oddly enough, you still can track chests with those same 3 maps from above, but only if you have chests revealed beforehand with Detective's Hunch. As far as I know, this is the only way to track chests with maps. It does not work with other perks that can reveal chests like Clairvoyance or Boon: Illumination. I also have a video illustrating that here:
Since it's been nearly 3 entire years since that bug report was posted and it still has no response, I'm going to assume that the devs are OK with maps not showing chests, which is fine.
The feedback I'm suggesting is to at least have it written somewhere what maps definitively can and cannot track. Why are chests revealed by Detective's Hunch able to be tracked by maps? Is this an unintentional bug?
This post is really only about chests but I also don't understand why some 'killer belongings' like Hag traps, Onryo TVs, Skull Merchant drones, etc. can be tracked but other belongings like Freddy clocks and Vecna chests can't.
It feels really inconsistent and I'd like if the dev team addressed this, even if it's relatively minor.

I didn't know chests were considered "Killer belongings," especially since the Killer can't interact with them in any way (except with Dracula's perk). And they contain items for Survivor, not Killers. So how are they considered "Killer belongings?"
Freddy clocks and Vecna chests are already revealed without a map, so that's probably why maps don't work on them.

maybe because they are my belongings now.
In more seriousness, yeah this has always irked me, I hope it gets fixed in the rework0
