Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Undone perk suggestion

Either two things need to happen with this perk for it to be even remotely viable because as it is currently, you'll never find value in it because missed skill checks almost never happen. If you go against survivors who haven't just freshly installed the game you'll almost never get tokens for it.

The main suggestion that I think should happen regardless of which option is picked:

Change it from total progress, to just a flat percentage like old pop. The percentage will almost always be small so a small percentage of total progress, will be absolutely meaningless 99% of the time unless the gen is quite literally… 99% done.

Now the two options:

  1. Change the event that gives tokens to just survivor hits. Whether it be special attacks or regular, have that be what gives tokens so that you can actually find value in the perk.
  2. If it HAS to be based off missed skill checks, ramp up the amount of tokens. Keep the cap at 30 but make it give 5 tokens. 3 tokens for something that will already rarely happen is abysmal.

This perk was dead on arrival because the condition behind it almost never happens and even if it does you're getting essentially nothing out of it with the amount of tokens you get.

Make it basic attack hits. Give the weaker killers in the game a good slowdown that doesn't make Nurse and Blight absolutely miserable to go against.

I'm not so keen on it being off hits, since that favours a more slugging playstyle, especially on special attacks hits.

Undones biggest issue is its design is a "win more" perk. It only helps you in games where you're already winning (as in survivors are missing a lot of skillchecks)

I always felt someone else's suggestion of switching it to successful skillchecks was a good idea:

    • 1 token for good skill checks
    • 3 tokens for great skill checks

This would make it more of an anti gen rush perk, since you'd gain more stacks from Survivors blasting gens with toolboxes/hyperfocus than you would from normal play, and it'd be a perk that scales better against higher skilled survivors than lower ones.

Might also have a synergy with Merciless Storm, so that perk has use for more characters than Doctor.

Wait, so it also works off of current progress?

    Brb, gotta check it.

Edit: It works off of total progress (like Pain Res), not current lik Pop
