Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Possible minor fix for some tunnelling issues?

Hear me out, what if you add a feature so that when someone is downed and on your shoulder — and only under those circumstances — you can see their hook state? I don't know if this is an AWFUL idea, but from the way I see it this could solve a small chunk of tunnelling at the very least.

I am a killer main. I've been playing only since around 2023, but I always keep finding myself in circumstances where I ACCIDENTALLY tunnel someone. Some killers — including myself — prefer a fair challenge and would rather get two hooks on everyone before they start killing. But whenever I play, I accidentally hook someone and kill them when two other people haven't been hooked once. (Yes, I know that's my fault, I'm just can't focus on hook states and playing too 😭) I feel like this feature wouldn't encourage tunnelling at all, seeing as like I mentioned, you can only see the hook state AFTER you chase them down, run around tiles, down them, etc. So after you go through all that effort, THEN you can see their hookstate. And this wouldn't encourage tunnelling seeing as you've already downed them, so therefore you'd already be planning on hooking them from the start. But I think that this being a new feature (at least for kinder killers such as myself) should remove a portion of tunnelling.

Maybe even think of adding a "Pity" feature lol, where a survivor is death hook a new button appears, allowing you to drop them and they can automatically pick themselves up after a certain time limit? Idk about THAT extra bit I just added, but nonetheless my main idea is the hookstate part.

Let me know if my idea is a horrible one for the survivors end... Or if you think this could actually be a HUGE help, not only for kind killers but also survivers in general. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read all this btw. I just really hope this feature could be considered, and possibly added one day.

P.S I meant it more as a mori, how you can only know someone is deathhook after they're already downed. I could imagine Mori on one side and Pity on the other. Also, I think a better name for it could possibly be Mors Prolongare, which simply means "To Prolong Death." That way it doesn't sound as merciful as "Pitying". Like "Playing With Your Food", you know? Lol. Also maybe a better idea would be just letting the killer see your hookstate only if they're deathhook. I think that would actually be a much better feature than seeing their hookstate each individual down and carry. But either way, my main goal by giving this suggestion is a hope that there will be SOME kind of way to not accidentally get someone out way too early and fast. I want to CHASE, I want to get LOOPED and destroyed by flashlight gamers! Nah but seriously, this suggestion I think could reduce tunneling by a fair bit with no risk of increasing anymore

I would definetly like something to help me with 8 hooks, I forget how many times I hook each survivor quite often..
Especially on killers, where I am used to drop chases often.

Depends how severe anti-tunneling feature is going to be, I would hope they just show hook stages overall.

I think this is an exclusively great idea. It would only create a better experience for everyone and help killers who want to create fun matches for everyone
