Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

DBD needs better accessibility options

There needs to be an option to not face certain killers, or at least change the way those killers are when you face them, I CANNOT play against clown, whenever I'm hit with a Purple tonic it makes me super nauseous, (And yes, I know there is a Tiny dot in the center of the screen to help with that, but it barely works and if I need to look anywhere other than the center of my screen I get turbo nauseous), and I know that some people have problems playing against plauge, and that they are really grossed out by her vomiting sounds, so I think there should be an option in the settings to either not face them (Which is probably a really bad idea) or lessen the effects of them to make people like me not want to vomit when getting hit with a Purple bottle, it would probably be something to tone down their effects and whatnot, as allowing players to just not play against certain killers is deffinatly a bad Idea.

Such a feature would absolutely wreck match making as up to 4 Killers would be be banned from every Survivor Queue, or
Survivors would be unable to be assigned to a Killer Queue. You may personally accept longer match-making but I assure you there are others that don't, even so Survivors would just use it to get out of facing any Killer they just don't like.

Better idea would be an accessibility setting that changes the Clown's Power to Bubbles and the effect to a general color opacity effect overlay.

I said that having an option to not play against certain killers would be a bad idea… did you read my post? I think there should be some setting to help with things like this though, because I cannot play against clown because the Nausea I get from his purple bottles is nearly rehabilitating, I do not wish for players to choose what killers they play against, that's a bad idea, I just want to be able to avoid nearly vomiting because my killer decided to play clown today.

I did read it, I am just acknowledging that its a bad idea. I'm agreeing with you.

Alright, my bad is I came off as rude. I've just dealt with a LOT of people who seem to not read my posts and just comment, there should definatly be something to help with the Nasuea of clowns purple bottles, because it's not fun as a survivor when I am trying to not vomit, and it's probably now fun for killers when the survivors are playing that well because they are struggling with severe nasuea, and (While I don't have this problem) I know that some people have problems with Plauges vomit sounds, and just plauge being gross in general, so DBD really needs more accessibility options.

This would destroy matchmaking, and everyone would just pick the most popular or powerful killers to ban, leading to insane queue times and unbalanced matches.

Although for accessibility reasons I agree, but it's better to solve those at the root. Why not add settings that change Plagues visual and sound effects to like lava, or something? That could work, doesn't matter if it's a little silly if it makes them playable against for someone who struggles with nausea against her or something. As for Clown, do you still have issues? They reduced the visual effect of the purple bottles so strongly already I thought this one wasn't a problem anymore.

this works in a setting where your killer can be picked in the lobby, which is why it works for IDV. if this was on a per survivor basis, alas 4man swfs could use it to force ban 4 high tier killers and still likely get into lobbies fast enough to not complain. this would then lead to players of these higher tier killers getting less matchs solely due their character being blocked by anyone who wants a competitive advantage or doesnt have a personal reason to block a killer. since you cant switch the killer in your lobby, you are presented a chance to switch your killer if youre blocked, so instead you would just never find a game queuing as nurse, blight, or kaneki.

i alas wish we has "please dont make me vomit and convulse" settings for those physically sensitive to those things but alas a full block feature is exploitable

did... did you read my post? I said that banning killers is a bad idea, and they should just have accessibility options...

In my post I said that banning killers is a BAD idea, we should just have accessibility options so I'm not on the verge of vomiting against clown

The purple bottles barely do anything to your screen anymore. How do you play any video game if that makes you nauseous? Shouldn't smoke vials or flashlight blinds do the same thing?

maybe for you, but the effect makes me nauseous, really inconsiderate being rude about it. And its really just the purple bottles that make me nauseous.

Yes, people should read the body of text before commenting but also maybe come up with a better title.

I've changed the title… I thought people would read the actual post before they just Downvote and leave a negative comment….

No, you said either adding an accessibility option or not facing them, and I'm addressing them both, saying that your idea for accessibility is fine and your idea for completely avoiding a killer in matchmaking is not. I don't see where the problem with my post is.

Alright, but you acted as if my main arguement was "We need options to not qeue against certain killers!" and from my perspective you completely ignored that I said that it would be better to just add accessibility options… and I argued that not queing against certian killers was a BAD idea, It was not a "We need either accessibility, or not queing" it was "We need accessibility" do not put words in my mouth.
