Machine Learning and Help wanted are too hard to get value from, so I don't want to use them.
So I was using a DBD Randomizer to make my builds, because Chaos Shuffle was canceled this quarter :c
Anyway I have got Machine Learning like 3 times and in those matches combined I think I triggered it once, now mind you I had random perks so to have something to help get the perk to work not really possible.
A perk not working because I never get to the Endgame Collapse, I can forgive that after all I was awesome.
But a perk doing absolutely jack all is a blight to carry on me and only makes me hate it even more.
There are 40 perks I rather use than Machine Learning, geez.
Help wanted is here cause he activates the same way, equally likely to be bad.
So I was thinking about how I could suggest you make the perks better and honestly idd take a page out of Eruption's book by allowing multiple generators to be compromised, but resetting all compromisations (is that a word?) upon getting the buff, requiring you to kick the gen being worked on again to get the next possible value.
So you can get it by being diligent gen kicker and not requiring you to be almost psychic to get much value.
Making this change for both Machine Learning and Help Wanted would really make them much viable.
Ofc, this may require you to check the duration of the buff effect, you know for balance reasons.
Thanks for coming to my PERK Talk, Love you.

So you are blaming the perk of not getting value when you most likely did not really try to get value out of it as it needs thinking of what gen to place it on for example.
You also intentionally are playing with random perks so you will sometimes gets perks you don't get much or any value or even perks that will not work with your killer power at all. That is totally part of perks being random you will not always get what you want or something that is useful. In the end its your choice to use what you want but you disliking a perk is not any qualification of the perk being bad. Machine Learning is good perk and can be devastating when used correctly.

The issue is that the perk has to be difficult to apply, because the benefit is so good (at least for Mashine Learning)
The best way to get it is probably going to an almost done gen, kick it, and let it work. Odds are, either the survivors will give you the effect or let it regress to zero instead of giving you your way, which is value too.

I don't really like them. The whole compromised generator mechanic just seems like a hassle to play around and counterintuitive to what kicking a gen is suppose to accomplish.

WRONG! I do my best to hit the gen they are doing, but it rarely works.
Idd rather take consistent value over longer buffs.

I feel like this may end up as a opinion clash, so I will leave it at that.

you might be getting boned by your own perk; i can't speak for Help Wanted, but Machine Learning has a tell. aware survivors know you have it. I've had teams literally go out of their way to hard play around machine Learning (bro, who does this?)
it's real and it happens.but maybe that's not what you're experiencing, just thought I'd add my 2 cents

I've been meaning to talk about those perks for a while, i am glad they changed the 2 gen kicks activation requirement but the perk still had a glaring issue, they'd very rarely if ever activate
you already need a gen done to get value which is not a good thing so it should at least be allowed an easier activation.
the perks should be allowed to apply to more than one gen, 2 max just to be safe
please bhvr 🙏.
