A concerned voice from Asia: Please don't let this update overshadow the 10th anniversary
I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight for several years now, and I truly love this game. I play on the Nintendo Switch, so I’m unable to participate in the PTB and test the new update firsthand. However, I’ve read the patch notes and seen the reactions across social media—and I’m deeply concerned.
As a player from the Asia region, I feel that our unique play culture and perspectives are often overlooked in favor of feedback from North American servers. I understand both the killer and survivor sides well, and I believe that a healthy balance between the two is essential for the long-term success of this game.
With the 10th anniversary approaching, I worry that the current wave of frustration from both killer and survivor players will cast a shadow over what should be a celebratory milestone. Many of us want to see Dead by Daylight thrive for 20 or even 30 years—but that won’t happen if the core gameplay systems alienate the very players who’ve supported it for so long.
That said, I want to acknowledge something positive: the new original character introduced in this update is absolutely brilliant. The design team’s creativity continues to impress, and I have no complaints about the artistic direction. If only the gameplay systems could be adjusted to better reflect the needs and experiences of all players, this update could be something to celebrate.
It breaks my heart to see so many passionate players on social media saying they’re ready to leave the game because of this update. Please, Behaviour—listen to all regions, all platforms, and all roles. We want to keep loving this game. Help us do that.
