Two Ideas: Fair Slugging Timer & Map Selection System
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the recent changes related to slugging and wanted to share a couple of ideas that I think could make the game feel fairer for both sides.
1. Slugging Timer (Only When Two Survivors Are Down)
Here’s my idea:
A timer (for example, 60 seconds — open to discussion) would only start when two survivors are on the ground at the same time.
After that timer expires, those downed survivors would be able to pick themselves up.
However:
- If one of the downed survivors is picked up (by the killer or another survivor) before the timer ends, the timer for the remaining downed survivor stops.
- This means the mechanic only activates in situations where both survivors are slugged, preventing excessive slugging but not punishing killers unfairly.
This could also help Oni and similar killers who rely on slugging — they wouldn’t be forced to cancel their powers every time just to pick someone up.
Overall, I think this version would be balanced, fair, and still respect killer strategy.
2. Map Selection System
For map selection, I’d love to see a more player-involved system:
Each player (including the killer) would choose at least 5 maps they’d like to play on.
When a match starts, the system would pick a map that appears most frequently among all 5 players’ selections.
However, the chosen map must also be one of the killer’s picks, to prevent situations where 4 survivors choose a map the killer doesn’t want.
This way, everyone has at least some influence over the map pool, while keeping it fair for both sides.
What do you think about these ideas?
Would something like this feel balanced and healthy for the game?
