BHVR Doesn't Do Enough About Bad Actors
Between literal cheaters, to the people in this community BHVR is not doing enough to police it. If I have a bad game whether it's on killer my team mate/ opposition when tilted will take their anger outside of the game. The SHEER amount of times that I had to clean my profile of horrendous comments or had my auto mod catch them saying slurs on my stream is crazy. I report the people who do this and nothing is ever done. It's crazy how taking the ######### outside of the game is seen as normal in this community. Between this and the lack of an ability to concede matches when no one's on death hook bhvr isn't doing enough.

Sadly, trying to police the community, the slurts, the hate on stream, you may as well tell the sea to stop been wet. Since there was the inter-google, there has always been the haters, the whiner weiners, the ones who take it too fat, but then is also the good ones etc. It's a needle in a haystack and people will always find a way to get around stuff, best to ignore it, sounds hard, but it is easy enough, to feed the trolls. It's like having mods around 24/7 to search and seek every little thing, word, expression, even the real and vt police dont do so.

At very least banning the people who go harass people outside the game and try to dox them ya know. Like the ######### in game I can take it's the stuff outside of the game is frustrating. I feel like if you're going out of the way to find a person outside of the game to continue flinging crap you don't deserve to play the game ya know.

I get cheaters in 1 out of 5 games now. No longer worth playing.

What exactly is BHVR supposed to do about people doing things outside the scope of their game?
As long as harassment and the like happen within the game (such as in pre- or post-game chat) you can report them there and send in a support ticket if necessary.
But outside of the game, you gotta report them to the respective platforms. Steam, Twitch, whatever. You can't really expect BHVR to police people's actions on a platform that isn't theirs.2 -
They do it inside and out don't be ignorant you know that. if I gave NetEase a ticket with screenshots from in game and outside that a player was harassing me in and off platform they'd take a ban bhvr doesn't do enough.

genuinely feels like bhvr realized that enough people are cheating they could potentially lose enough players to make the share holders mad. Then again that's probably too generous for bhvr. Sus things happen in my games all the time lately. People can straight up disappear when going around the corner gens can pop just a little bit too fast ect ect.

In our Game Rules, we specifically state we do not handle off platform reports:
NOTE: We do not control anything that happens outside of Dead by Daylight.
This includes private Steam messages/groups/names, PS4/XBOX messages, Discord messages, Twitch/social media interactions, etc. Anything that occurs on these platforms must be reported to their respective authorities.
Please don't call people ignorant.

So what of the screenshots I send from on platform. it's not normal for every match to have at least one person telling me to off myself ya know. The community isn't being policed very well.

Screenshots are not required for the team to take action when it's in game chat related:
HARASSMENT: COMMUNICATIONS ABUSE
- Insults, intimidation, hateful speech, repeated harassment
- In-game report REQUIRED / Player Support ticket OPTIONAL

Like as people here has said Behavior is not responsible of people writing something in your Steam profile. They also are not responsible of what people say in your streams chat. You are yourself responsible of policing your own chat in Twitch or where ever you stream. Also you yourself should realize if you advertise your stream you will get people who will just come there to annoy you that is given. You can't anyway demand a game company to take action against people who are harassing you outside the game its not their hands in anyway. If they do it in the game itself then yes but your streams chat or your steam profile are not their responsibility to moderate.
Like sorry but what you are asking is not feasible and you are taking your frustration on a gaming company of individual people being #########. Still as I said you are blaming a company of things individuals are doing that are not even doing it in the game that the company you blame is operating. So how are you thinking even that they can stop people from writing bad comments into your steam profile or in your chat? Like they don't own either of those platforms.

Well either the punishments are too lenient (so people arent afraid of even getting caught. Hackers saying they have hundreds of accounts or can buy another for cheap,) same note if someones just gonna get kicked off for 3 days they aint gonna learn much about their behavior. Same with dcs now people say "I have my free dc of the day to dodge this killer" or stuff like that. Theres always stuff that can be improved. I cant say I see it at the same level in other games as I do in dbd. (Marvel rivals for instance can have 12 people in game vs dbds 4) and i dont see it every game. Because its followed by a immedate mute or worse. (Im talking like sometimes as soon as 30 minutes after its reported) so while I dont agree with what they put in their reasoning. Its true in some regard the title alone i guess.

Yes, I was just here to clarify and certainly wasn't dismissing any concern about how players feel regarding action taken. <3 That's something I can take as feedback to the team!

I only mentioned the steam profile and my stream because people harassing people in game and continuing to do so off is crazy. I report the in game stuff. The in game stuff needs to be policed better. This is the only game I've had to consider privating my steam profile. I play fighting games and you'd think people would come harass people in there too but they don't ya know. I've only ever gotten tip, compliments, or stuff like that on those.

Oh they do that in fighting games when you just end up against the right person and you can get it in any game. Even Pokemon TCG people can be toxic. What are the in game things they should be doing better they already do take actions on end game chat abuse so don't know what else they should be doing? Amount of policing will not remove people who want to be toxic they exist and have to admit even punishment will not do anything to some of them because they don't care about it as they are the victims in their opinion.

Recently, I was told by customer support in a email that they no longer required to have a support ticket for video evidence or screenshots.
Is this true? They had mentioned in ingame report alone is sufficient. Just trying to make sure I am going about it the best way.Post edited by MechWarrior3 on3 -
I had to uninstall the game as from my experience DBD has the most toxic players i have ever seen from any game for just playing my role and I'm trying not to play scummy either. Reporting them feels like it's doing nothing when it's so rampant and so common to have players to go end yourself irl or other horrible slurs. Other games take this issue seriously with quick punishment ban or restrictions on chatting or playing the game and notifying the players that action was taken some games like league of legends have a honor system to help encourage better behavior. DBD though? Absolutely nothing…

I've always said they need to overhaul the post-game thumbs up system. Surely it's not hard to do. Have it give 'reputation' or 'good sportsmanship' points that, at monthly reset, give something extra like shards or a bp boost. If you get enough points maybe you can get a special badge. It won't solve the problem of bad sportsmanship or bad manners, but I guarantee you'll probably see less instances of it.

It is true that positive reinforcement of good behavior is much more effective than punishment of bad behavior when it comes to modification, but people are also more motivated to act on negative feelings than positive (i.e. use the post game system to be negative than give a thimbs up).
Still, I think your idea has some merit. That said, think you'd need to separate it from the existing system, like have one for reporting and a separate mechanic for giving kudos for good behavior, one the has only a "thumbs up" option. Especially if there is a karma ranking/reward attached. If you have a karma-type system with up and down voting, people will spam the negative one just because.
Like we've seen with the downvote since it was added here on the forum.0 -
Sure, though the idea would be there isn't a negative option. Thumbs up or nothing, the latter of which is what we have now anyway. So at worse nothing changes and at best, people who display good sportsmanship may get recognized by fellow players. Devs could change things up as needed.
