Yep keep nerfing solo survivors like me
Thanks for the upcoming nerf to Sprint Burst and Vigil nerfs perks that I have to use just to have a chance at escaping through the gates as a solo survivor to grind out those trashy milestone and weekly escape challenges. Did you forget that there are fast and strong anti-loop killers and who don't even care about a survivor's Sprint Burst? Plus, I need it when a killer sneaks up on me (especially on indoor maps stealth is very strong), since they don't have a lullaby to warn me and there's no voice chat between survivors to call it out. Oh, and you reduced the endurance effect after an unhook that’s just pathetic, when will you stop nerfing survivors? Aren't the long killer queues proof enough? It’s laughable watching your streams where the microphones barely even work and reading your useless updates that only ever nerf survivors kit (like the Cross Exam perk). I really hope survivors stop playing these one sided game so killer queues increased even further!

I was going to try and reason through why Sprint Burst and Vigil were unhealthy for the game being as strong as they were and how the boosted Endurance created no-win situations for Killers who aren't even tunnelling but I don't think there's anything anyone could say that could change your mind. I'd suggest you maybe stop playing for a bit to get some perspective, or maybe try playing some Killer and seeing how these perks can make it really difficult for weaker Killers to do anything at all, but again I don't think you came here for advice or to advocate for an actual solution to shake up the incredibly stale meta we've had for more than a year now.

Sprint Burst needed a nerf, it was by far one of the best perks in the game and by far the best exhaustion perk in the game, and with Vigil it just became free distance every 24 seconds of walking. If the meta was ever going to change then the top perks need a bit of a nerf, the issue is that buffs for other perks are needed to give more viable options / replacements. The ones they've gone over so far have been pretty much nothingburgers and still no one will run something like Apocalyptic Ingenuity which is the issue. Lets just hope the perk updates in like 4 months will be more meaningful.
The solo queue experience (of which I am part) is a separate issue that needs to be addressed by giving things to solo queue survivors that people in groups have (making it easier to see teammates' perks, I have a post about how to change the UI for that. some people have suggested something akin to a basekit Kindred at least to see your teammates. etc)

If you can’t escape without using these perks then that explains exactly why they need to be nerfed. Same applies for killers who can’t get kills without using the strongest perks. Everyone complains about a stale meta where everyone is using the same perks in every match and BHVR are finally addressing some of them.
-6 -
as a solo you do not need these perks. In fact, these exact perks are why we have killers like Ghoul.
-5 -
Why did endurance length off hook need to be reduced? BHVR nerfed something that made tunneling less effective.
9 -
As she said in the stream, because the endurance was being abused by people. It's meant to protect you from being tunneled but a lot of people were using the free hit to body block, which was not the intent of the protection.
-6 -
no, we have the ghoul because of money.
21 -
my thoughts exactly.
My tip for survivors if you want to get better fast? Stop running exhaustion perks (at least the strong ones) for a few weeks, you’ll be amazed how much better of a player you actually become.
Same with WoO or 5 steps ahead or Deja, I haven’t ran windows for years and using it now feels like cheating because the macro is done for you.-9 -
Remember that time I said survivors act like victims of nerfs to overpowered perks?
This is the proof.
-9 -
The problem is they're only addressing one side of the meta. SB, Vigil, and Deliverence are meta; Coul and Thrill are for niche builds. Regress/slowdown is untouched. They also didn't nerf anything basekit for killer, only survivor BT. A shakeup is good if it's not just caving to killer complaints and nerfing survivor, which is how it looks so far.
13 -
You mean like how the endless survivor complaints led to Jason being nerfed only 35 days after he was added to the game?
-21 -
Killers are almost always adjusted after release. How was Jason nerfed?
22 -
The sprint Burst Change wasn’t really necessary, the only reason it sees a lot of play is because people like the Simplicity of how it works, objectively Lithe is the best Exhaustion perk.
3 -
And killers do the same, so what is your point?
13 -
He had 2 add ons nerfed (one of which is still busted) and a basekit buff to his back-to-hook tunneling after over a month. Meanwhile cross examination got double nuked in a shorter timeframe. Guess how many times I saw cross examination being used as opposed to Deputy Badge + Sauna Rock
15 -
You claim Behavior caves into killer complaints, but you don't even know what nerfs Jason got? And for the record, no, killers don't normally receive nerfs that fast, especially after spending years trying to obtain their license.
-27 -
Last I checked, killers are not in a good spot right now and have not been for a long time.
Survivors though? You guys got a slap on the wrist with the SB / Vigil changes that might come.-20 -
Guess how many times I have seen crap like DH/DS being stacked alongside Vigil / SB. I'm sure that is perfectly balanced too right?
-15 -
Last you checked? When was that? Pre-6.1.0?
22 -
Yeah okay, my main, also licensed, was nerfed immediately. It's normal and I didn't whine about it because he's still A tier.
I'm asking you because he didn't get nerfs to his kit. He got add-on nerfs (and buffs) and got a crazy camping buff. He also still has one of the most busted add-ons in the game along with his overstuffed kit.
16 -
Clearly you haven't played killer side much if you think this. There is good reason killer mains are not happy about being pushed into A/S tier killers more-so than ever.
-20 -
No, it's not normal. And yes, those were major nerfs to the killer.
You are literally trying to downplay massive changes to a killer and it is hilarious to read.
-23 -
I'm guessing not very often considering DH & SB literally wouldn't work together at all. You want dead hard nerfed for a 3rd(4th?) time? If you're constantly getting hit by the only remaining marginally useful anti-tunnel perk (that has also been nerfed multiple times) that sounds like a problem with your gameplay.
15 -
My friend, DH / DS, shouldn't even exist by any metric of game balancing. You are literally defending get out of jail free card design, one of the worst mechanics ever introduced to gaming.
-21 -
And you haven't played Survivor if you think the things you're thinking.
18 -
If you think add-on nerfs that came with buffs are "major hits" I don't know what to tell you. Sauna Rock was mostly the only major change, which doesn't change the killer at all. Maybe stop being so scared of Exhaustion when playing an overtuned, mobile, free info, free haste, low cooldown killer.
17 -
It's almost as if the Survivor changes, we might see are actually in response to players abusing the ever-living hell out of them, hence their possible changes. And to commemorates this; they went ahead and nerfed a much addon to combat exactly what they claim they might address.
I'm so glad to see the biggest talker on the thread has zero idea of what is actually going.
-16 -
Yeah because bringing 4 slowdowns is super healthy. No need to address that. Tunneling at 5 gens is also totally great for the game and will be even easier now, once again. Nothing busted on the killer side, no way. Not sure how one abuses SB. The perk does what it's intended to do. People can and will still bodyblock with BT. They were doing it before the 5s. That's not going to change anything. Speaking of abuse, Nurse's Caling will be buffed for slugging, again.
I'm sorry to inform you that the world does not revolve around Jason's add-ons. Did they announce all anti-Exhaustion add-ons and perks were being nerfed to make up for these survivor perk nerfs?
Maybe try not to be so insanely one-sided in your views. My KR is consistently above goal. Yours probably is too, as are most killers i know, because it's already the role with the advantages. How many do you really need?
19 -
All I read was, "I have almost 4k posts and haven't learned a single thing this entire time".
-21 -
Great comeback from the person who thinks people bring SB and DH together.
20 -
The issue is these nerfs aren't for the purpose of a meta shakeup. Theres a reason healthy perks like Lithe, Five Moves etc. aren't being looked at despite being extremely popular. Vigil, sprint burst, and the three nerfed killer perks are largely unhealthy for the game and are being changed on that basis, not for being meta. There isn't really anything basekit you could nerf for the killer role without some kind of major gameplay update, and with how much of a catastrophic failure the 9.2 and 9.3 PTBs were, they're unlikely to look in THAT direction until the big overall update next year.
-12 -
Thanks, you hit the nail on the head they really nerfed survivors in this chapter update! Plus, everyone acts so smug, telling you to just use different perks, meanwhile, everyone plays highly mobile killers and strong anti-loop killers who tunnel relentlessly and abuse stealth perks like Secret Project, which hasn't been nerfed and is super easy to activate. People also forget that stealth killers absolutely wreck solo survivors because there’s no intel on the killer's location especially on indoor maps so I use Sprint Burst to save myself from getting a free hit from stealth killers (and mobile ones, too).
13 -
Well Lithe is also great but you need a windows for it which can be tricky to reach if you are working on far a gen or if it's a mobile or stealth killers especially with stealthy perks (imagine Bubba/Hillbilly with stealth perks on indoor or hard to see maps) that's why Sprint and Vigil is saving grace for such situations
2 -
They're adjusting almost 50 perks. That sure sounds like a shakeup effort. The nerf to Deliverence is just weird. The Coul nerf won't stop slugging builds, not with buffed Nurse's and untouched Infectious on the loose. The Nowhere nerf is also bizarre. It's a regular sentiment that the aura read should stick to the gen and they just decided to do...not that.
And like I already said, there's nothing healthy about four slowdowns or tunneling at 5 gens. Yet they also remain unaddressed.
16 -
this game is really becoming bad, they constantly break every survivor perks in the game and continue to go on the side of the killers can we have a decent perk on the game, look at killers perks and look at survivors not balanced at all then when u add powers it makes the game almost unplayable please fix this game and stop breaking it
12 -
how do you convince people to play killers that just lose to pre running, hold w and checkspot? Because they sure as heck ain't playing Henry, a truly powerful and fearsome killer. People would rather play Ghoul, Blight and Nurse. 2 of which cost no money.
-11 -
-
I agree, apparently, they don't see that the queue time for killers never drops below 3 mins even though I remember it used to be just 10 seconds a few months ago. Someone needs to open these developers eyes, do they even understand what they're doing? It feels like the whole team is completely disconnected, with everyone changing whatever they feel like mostly just making life easier for killers (newly buffed Nurses Calling, they are literally just reverting it with bigger radius, CoB is also fine I use no idea why they buffed it too to make more money from Onryo?😂)
3 -
Again, the 6 perk nerfs they're doing soon are NOT for the purpose of a meta shakeup, and those are the balancing decisions I was talking about. I don't see how you expect them to change 4 slowdowns at all? None of the current slowdown perks are unhealthy for the game once they tap down Thrill, and dead by daylight has never had perk lockouts. Tunneling at 5 gens would need a major gameplay update, regardless of whether the change ends up being good and well thought out, or extremely stupid (see the aforementioned PTBs), and they're not going to be doing that right now. Meanwhile (while I think non-endgame should still be 15 seconds) its incredibly easy to just change a number value on offhook endurance.
-10 -
Look, if a killer player doesn't want to put in the work to master certain niche killers, they shouldn't come here to complain. I've seen Trapper players go on win streaks, so the problem clearly isn't with the killers themselves, but with the people playing them. Killer mains don't realize they need to try harder to win a match especially with niche killers but that’s exactly where the reward for that effort lies...
8 -
I don't see Blight very often since he got a small nerf. Its almost like peopled played him because he was absurdly overpowered, not to counter sprint burst. New killers every few months powercreeping the rest of the roster while the few remaining useful survivor perks keep getting ground down every midchapter isn't a recipe for balance.
12 -
what I'm saying is, the top perks are what's creating environments that you don't like. I could just easily say if you don't want to put in the work to loop and not just have SB do it for you why complain? But I don't.
SB warps the game balance just like Nurse does. Maps have to be designed for both Nurse and Trapper. If we get rid of the bottlenecks on both sides we can make some actual changes to the game.
But people don't want their side touched and would prefer knee-jerk reactions. People refuse to look at the big picture.
-4 -
Yeah, right getting smacked by killers who have 100ms ping in every frankfurt server match is normal to you? Try playing without exhaustion perks and see how you get hit at close range from miles away or through pallets, if you destroy Sprint Burst, laggers become even more powerful. Nobody bans them, even though they have an advantage with M1 attacks since M1 attacks lack ping validation, there’s no delay upon pressing the button, even with 200ms latency so survs gets hits from miles away especially after window vaults, yep yep keep defending killers even in such situation…
P.S. That's it, I'm done posting, there's just no convincing some people here.
5 -
Most of the changes are bad. At least from watching ScottJund vid for info on what's changing.
SB does not need changing especially when we have killers like ghoul in the game that can fling themselves at you at mach speeds and little cooldown to slap you.
A nurses calling is the most lop sided buffed I could of thought off. they realizing slugging is a issue because of Clorua nerfs but then are priming A nurses calling to just be the new slug perk because of being able to see slugged people being healed???
Deliverance / no where to hide did not need changes at all. I cant even remember last time I saw No where to hide be complained about.6 -
but then are priming A nurses calling to just be the new slug perk because of being able to see slugged people being healed???
Funny thing, I've run Nurse's consistently for months and it was already doing this. They altered it a while ago to have a longer range but to not work on slugs, but it had been bugged to still work on slugs. They just fixed the bug recently and now they're making that bug an intended feature. So it stopped showing slugs for like a few weeks.
9 -
slowdown has been garbage this is just the best of the worst
-14 -
This is going to be a pretty dumb nerf as killers can one shot down or traverse maps quickly..how can survivors counterplay that? Especially when there are so many aura reading perks so they just come flying your way. Some maps have way too many deadzones. When we going to get the tunneling/camping nerf you guys had worked soooo hard on to just scrap it?

What a self report, lmao
If people actually learned how to play the game maybe you wouldn't need to run these busted-ass perks to win
-16 -
Oh, another anti-survivor update coming? Glad I uninstalled already.
