You really don't need exhaustion perks to escape, I never run them and I escape plenty. As for the perks getting nerfed SB has been the best exhaustion perk since the inception of DBD so it's fine if it's usage goes down a little.
Vigil nerf isn't terribly crazy either, you get your exhaustion perks back 6 seconds slower and it's still curing you of every status effect much sooner.
Also the OP sounds kinda troll. "I need it when stealth killers sneak up on me" I mean, that's kinda the point? They're good at sneaking up on you and suck at everything else. And people complaining about ghoul here while yes ghoul is kinda dumb SB isn't the counter like ghoul actively counters holding W so not really sure why ghoul is being brought up.

I honestly don't see a world where quad-slowdown is the worst thing in the world anymore. Gen exploding perks like Pain-Res or Pop gets heavily affected by Diminishing Returns while gen blocking perks like DMS or Deadlock got nerfed.
Even if someone were to equip something that isn't affected by Diminishing Returns, like, Corrupt Intervention, Pain Res, Overcharge and Grim Embrace are a far cry than having to deal with something like Pain Res, Pop, Eruption, Surge and other gen exploding perks altogether without consequence.-12 -
Pain Res, Pop, Surge, and Eruption weren't affected by Diminishing. That build is still exactly the same.
21 -
That’s because the strong regression/slowdown perks were already nerfed in previous updates, not to mention the addition of the gen kick limit mechanic which was an additional nerf to slowdown.
I respect your opinion about this because I know you play both sides, even if we disagree. I think most of the people who are upset about this either don’t play killer at all or play it only occasionally and not regularly against good survivors. I play a lot of killer and most of the survivor players I go up against know what they are doing. SB/Vigil are by far the most common perks I see and it’s for good reason. They’re extremely strong in the hands of good players and make it nearly impossible for B tier and lower killers to keep up. As survivor I’ve been playing with SB/Vigil myself for a while now and even I agree they could use an adjustment because of how strong they are.-12 -

but they all were effected by the gen regretion limit. surge and eruption hit the limit hella fast and pain rez was giga nerfed already and to be honest isnt that good i would rather run general slowdown like Thanatophobia or gen blocking perks and if i wanted to run gen regretion pop is much better and you can use it where you need it like on your 3 gen and not on a gen on the other side of the map that would be hard to petrol.
-12 -
it wont happen for a really long time and its not even a ati survivor patch killers also getting nerfed
-15 -
If you mean there's no actual number change, like, if you were to put Pop as the first perk, then Pain Res isn't being halved due diminishing returns even when both perks state that both are generators exploding, then that's actually insane. If that's true I wholeheartly admit that I am wrong.
More so, Diminishing Returns specifically states all those perks as generators exploding and should be affected by it. If its not, then I don't know what logic Diminishing Returns operates under. They did such a bad job at explaining Diminishing Returns that it causes this confusion.-7 -
And since those previous updates:
Ruin - buffed again
Pain Res - never even left the meta
Dead Mans Switch - still the best slowdown perk in the game by a mile and synergizes with everything else
Grim Embrace - still meta and still gets its full "wholesome reward for spreading hook" after tunneling someone out
Surge - buffed multiple times
Eruption - buffed
Call of Brine - buffed
Pop - buffed
Turn Back The Clock - new meta slowdown perk
Still waiting for all the nerfed meta survivor perks to get repeatedly buffed again. At least we got 1 additional DS second for a couple weeks 2 years ago…
13 -
They were nerfed ages ago, other than DMS, and PGTW was buffed recently. Despite those nerfs they remain the most used killer perks in the game even with the kick limit. Any way you slice it they are still in a powerful state, if they weren't people wouldn't run them and they especially wouldn't run four of them. This is before we note that the strongest killers make better use of them than weaker killers do.
I can agree that SB and Vigil needed some nerfs, particularly for the sake of the weaker killers, but I expected those changes to come alongside nerfs to the strongest killers, the killer meta perks, or some other form of major shake up. The 45 more are coming months from now and I honestly think the SB and Vigil changes are going to be more impactful than anything that is to come, especially since there are going to be no killer changes in that patch. Nerfing SB and Vigil isn't going to make people play weaker killers, they are just going to continue playing their favorites or whoever they win with most often and that is naturally going to skew towards the stronger killers.
These nerfs on top of the change to unhook protections is just a major nerf to survivor shortly after the release of a strong killer (and a slew of strong killers before him and what looks like another strong killer coming soon). You say you face these perks often and you believe the survivors you face are good, so is it resulting in you losing? Do you have a slew of killers below the 60% kill rate? If not then these changes could have waited until we also got changes to the killer meta or at least until we got the other coming changes for a real shake up.

Diminishing returns only applies when multiple things apply the same effect at the same time. So say PWYF and Batteries Included both applying haste at the same time. Since the regression perks don't apply to a generator at the same time they are not effected with the minor exception of the increased regression rate if you combined CoB and Overcharge.

That sure sounds like a shakeup effort.I hope I'm wrong, but given the 2/3rds split of buffs/nerfs I'm expecting 30 C tier perks to become B perks and 15 A tier perks to become B tier.
5 -
Pop and Ruin both got buffs last time they were touched iirc. We also have Turn Back the Clock added. Just because things aren't busted anymore doesn't mean running four of them is healthy. Last batch of survivor matches I played was like a comedy routine. Almost every killer was running full slowdown, many on A and S tiers.
I'm very aware of the strength of these perks. I hate SB/Vigil. It's the worst to deal with on my main, who is still A tier and considered one of the stongest killers in the game, but I'm wrecked by 4 SBers who use it right. I've asked for them to be nerfed many times. I don't use them myself. But I also don't run 4 slowdowns on killer. My problem with this is that we're nerfing three extremely popular, game-effecting survivor perks (after survivor got hit harder than killer by Diminishing) but not doing the same on the other side. Hell, Nurse's is one of my favorite killer perks and it's getting buffed for some inexplicable reason. And to do what? Make full team slugging easier.
Soloq is basically dead to me. I'm playing less and less survivor. I'm being pushed more and more towards being a killer main. I don't think it's a good way for 50/50s to feel, but nothing is being done about survivor pain points. Slugging, tunneling, camping, and full regress are still going strong and the one survivior buff that's had an effect (the 5s BT) is being taken away. We've also seen an endless stream of survivor perk and item nerfs due to outrage.

Thanks for the info. So something like Brutal and Fire Up gets nerfed but Quad-Regression doesn't? Then it just feels like Diminishing Returns is affecting the wrong things then.
13 -
Basically what many people said from the start.
9 -
They're not affected because they have a set number that works at one time. Turn Back the Clock also wasn't affected. For regress, Call of Brine and Oppression are affected. For slowdown, Thano and Dying Light were affected. I used to run those two and had to stop running them together. I think Penimento also is affected with those.
It's not just bad explaining, it's nonexistent. And an awful lot of people keep saying regress was badly hit and it wasn't at all, and I don't know why they both think that and refuse to accept it's incorrect.
10 -
I completely misunderstood when it said 'when stacked'. I assumed 'stacked' referred to it being in your perk slot, not when the effect is being active exactly at that very moment. I only learned of how it actually works in the forum.
5 -
They very much need a visual indicator and an info pop up when you're making a build. I see diminished builds all the time in-game. The average player probably has no idea this system even exists.
11 -
diminishing returns as a whole was a failure.
All it did was nerf already niche builds like haste/hinder, action speed, and stacking healing speed perks.
Only for it to not affect the actual problematic perks like the ones used in quad slowdown/gen blocking perks, then added a new a healing perk completely unaffected by the system (I use lend a hand and my duo uses resurgence and I’m sorry but it’s just not fair. Healing in a second and 1/2 off a hook just shouldn’t be possible)
3 -
What about killers learned how to play?
14 -
Indeed. It's coming from someone who said DH / DS alongside SB / Vigil, as in either or, not at the same time.
So, good job demonstrating how bad your reading skills are.
-13 -
Oh, wonderful job my boy, you brought my prediction right into this sub.
Exactly 10 days ago I said survivors pretend to be victims of nerfs to overpowered perks within that post. And here we are, survivors doing exactly that even after the developers themselves acknowledged the perks in questions are too powerful.

People forget just how busted they were against the weaker killers I'm glad these perks are finally getting nerfed. We might see a bit more variety now in killers being played after some of the strongest survivor perks get nerfed or would you rather keep your strong perks and only see the strongest killers game after game like Jason and Ghoul?
-12 -
You're only looking at one side of the story. Survivors need these perks to keep up with the killer power creep. The most played killer in the game (Ghoul) basically laughs at Sprint Burst. And basically all the new killers have insane map traversal or some form of ranged attack to deal with Sprint Burst, You wanna nerf survivor, but the fault lies with BHVR for the killer power creep.
15 -
Don't forget completely unhealthy garbage like Blood Favor that completely shuts down looping AND holding W.
Or how they obliterated medkits.
12 -
No they don't i run overcome and escape against these killers no problem. Sb hasn't been changed sense 2017 thats 9 years of being hard meta maybe pick up a new perk
-13 -
But people do run sb dh I see it about every 10 games and try to correct them.
-9 -
Then you're playing with babies who don't understand the most basic parts of the game because this doesn't happen in my lobbies. That is new player activity.
12 -
Yes it's primarily the power creep of stronger killers getting released and the strongest killers are the only ones that have a decent chance against having to play the strongest survivor perks why they're played so much. Nerf the strongest survivor perks down a bit the weaker killers see more play having a better chance then go back and give proper nerfs to the strongest killers. If the other way around nerfing the strongest killers first without touching survivor perks then it'll just make playing killer role even more miserable.
Regardless this is still just an early preview that could change there's still a full list of buffs and nerfs in the works for both sides and already people are crying.
-9 -
I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I really don't see the big deal about sprint burst. Sure it's a good perk, but it's never deterred me from chasing a survivor. I saw Scott Jund saying it was the strongest perk in the game which is just laughable to me. And that's one of the content creators BHVR listens along with SWF comp players like Hens.
8 -
I don't see it as the strongest perk either. What i see that's wrong with it is that it gives the most consistent value. It's free distance before the chase even starts and there's zero requirements to trigger it while every other exhaustion perk requires the survivor to perform a certain action to trigger it which usually only happens during chase. So it's more punishing for slower killers while killers with mobility won't care about it.
-2 -
Dont worry about anything. Its just another unreasonable attempt of fooling the community. Through the last years you are basically more likely to summon a demon than devs would act like they have a clue of their own game.
5 -
More mindless Us vs Them, great
When did I say anything about killers? The uncomfortable truth is that people across both roles of this game would much rather slap on an overtuned meta build then bother to actually use their skills and smarts to win.
Obviously this is a problem with pretty much every PvP game to some extent, but rarely have I seen it so prevalent.
-12 -
I don't use exhaustion, actually. you picked the wrong guy to say that to because I play on Xbox. I'm still conditioned to not use exhaustion because exhaustion perks used to freeze our game, so I quite literally had to get good and play 5+ seconds in the future at all times. And server issues aren't a balance issue.

Not everyone thinks killer is miserable but why do you think it's more appropriate to make survivor more miserable instead?
12 -
Is it possible to nerf SWFs and only SWFs? I would say no. SWFs strength is external to the game. Players you know and communication. That means a nerf to survivor could be seen as nerfing solo survivor because that's the sympathetic victim.

From the content of your 10 posts alone i can tell who you are, and i guarantee that the post counts of all your previous forum accounts probably amount to more than most of us with thousands of posts

The "lol" tells me that you do know what they're talking about.

If comp players who are vastly better than 99% of tbe playerbase and experienced players agree its one the strongest perks (because it is). I might be more inclined to hear their arguments rather than just "its laughable to me" as someone who has been playing since 2016 there is a reason SB has never dropped off the meta and it is because it is and will probably still be the best exhaustion perk in the game.

If the accusations were false, you would be offended, not amused.

By the way, I just remembered something, if devs reduce the endurance duration to 10s, all future modifiers without the DS/OTR perks will turn into a "tunnel fest", especially in Chaos Shuffle where it's easy to slug and tunnel. It’s just another embarrassment for the devs that they didn't think this through.

"Just do Gens" Killer patrols the map with full Regression build.
"Just reset somewhere safe" Killer has every Aura reading ability, and probably some you don't even know exist in their addon kit.
"Just get good at looping" Killer's power laughs at pallet and windows.
"Just have encyclopedic knowledge of the Powers / Perks and Addons that you might be facing."
"Just know that you were facing a Stealth Killer at the start... somehow."
"Just waste 5 to 10 minutes trying to find and break their Hex build" Only Killer is allowed to have powerful totem builds.
"Just use the six new useless Perks we made for Survivor." We already nerfed the old ones!
