A few notes and ideas from me and my friends

Since I see no point in switching to Discord or Reddit for the ideas and concepts I have in mind (where they would likely just get lost amidst nonsense spam without being seen) I’ve decided to post everything currently on my mind here before the forum closes.

I’m in favor of consoles getting in-game chat so console players can communicate with us; keep the standard text chat for the lobby, but for the end-game chat, it would make more sense to limit it to emojis—like smileys, "gg," or expressions for anger, sadness, happiness, "ok," etc. That would eliminate toxicity after the match. And please, never add in-game voice chat; that would ruin the DbD vibe and drag it down to the level of "kiddie" games like Fortnite, or Valorant, where voice chat tends to be used negatively. I’d also like to see more in-game gestures, not just waving, crouching, or pointing, but maybe a hug, or even a playful middle finger or a gesture for holding your nose because someone or something stinks.

Another thing is, players on the African continent urgently need their own servers, as they frequently have to use EU servers—where they are exposed to the toxic behavior of other players or become toxic themselves due to high ping. It is also very common for killers to simply lose their connection because they are based in Africa.

Last but not least

Event Feedback: Disabling Memento Mori Offerings during fun based Community/BP Events

Special seasonal events like Bone Chill, Haunted by Daylight, and the Anniversary celebrations should be focused on community fun, completing event challenges, and farming Bloodpoints together.

Unfortunately, the match atmosphere is often completely ruined when a Killer brings a Memento Mori offering during these events. Getting eliminated early in the match prevents Survivors from engaging with the event mechanics, completing their event tomes, or benefiting from the stacked Bloodpoint offerings that the community brought into the trial.

To improve the overall event experience and protect the shared fun, bhvr could implement a simple adjustment for these limited-time event queues:

- Temporary Event Ban: Automatically disable the Ultra Rare (Red) and Rare (Blue) Memento Mori offerings specifically for the separate event matchmaking queue.

- Keep Devours and Basekit Moris: This restriction should only apply to pre-match Offerings. Killers who earn a Mori through active gameplay mechanics or their own powers should still be able to use them.

- Easy Implementation: Since bhvr already has a highly reliable Killswitch system in place for bugs, applying a temporary restriction to Mori offerings in event modes would be incredibly easy to code and requires zero new engine mechanics.

Why this is a win for everyone:

Events are at their best when everyone gets to participate fully. Disabling Memento Mori offerings for the event queue encourages players to focus on the fun event mechanics, keeps matches rewarding for all participants, and reduces early-game frustration during times of celebration and since the killer can still kill and mori survivors, managing to do it without a Memento Mori feels all the more rewarding.
