Pig nerfs for PTB
- RBTs only become active whenever a generator is completed. Inactive RBTs will no longer trigger when attempting to leave via an exit gate. *NOTE: Initiating the End Game Collapse will not complete generators, but will block them. This means that any inactive RBTs will remain inactive.
- The RBT timer now stops if the Survivor is within the Terror Radius, as opposed to when in a Chase.
As someone who admittedly can't test these out in the PTB, gotta say, first impression are noooooot positive. This basically annihilates Endgame builds, as putting on an RBT after the Exit Gates are powered does actual nothing. The RBTs pausing in TR seems baffling to me as it means that timers will pausing a lot more often unless you resort to crouch tunneling, which seems like a very strange thing to promote.
Someone talk some sense into me, or am I justified in being very concerned for Pig?

If they're gonna remove it so that the inactive traps cannot trigger at the doors, then they should at least make a compromise that the traps activate themselves if you fail a skill-check trying to remove it from a box.

The fear is justified as this came outta nowhere. Pig isn't considered to be particularly threatening and RTBs weren't causing an issue like deep wounds was. So to see it get treated the same in function is a bit crazy to me.

Piggy got bhvr'd :(
8 -
I hate this change,
because they force player for 1 playstyle.
6 -
A LOGICAL change.
Behaviour, dont go back to pleasing survivors -.-
Those are unnecessary nerfs no one asked for
9 -
What a stupid change.
5 -
What the f*ck is my Pig getting nerfed for?
5 -
Because Pretty Gud Job So Far ™
6 -
Poor Amanda! 😕
btw:....
Late Rescue: rescue another Survivor during EGC (2000).
farming time....lul

@Acromio Pig is literally my only killer I have bothered to level up to 50 and they give her the Legion nerf. Ridiculous.
3 -
Since the Legion change got announced, i feared that they might try forcing killers into 1 playstyle, and with the change to piggy...it might become a reality, wich is unhealthy for the game.
2 -
@Plu It's a damn shame..

This is part of the End Game changes. With the Survivors on a short timer, they can't afford to go around taking a trap off before leaving. Putting a trap on a Survivor after the End Game has already started would be a death sentence particularly when paired with Blood Warden. Traps applied before the last generator was powered will still be active, so you'll still be able to
These changes are just on the PTB for now, though. We'll keep an eye out for feedback and make changes if needed.
2 -
My god a killer actually getting to kill someone! How horrifying. Better nerf it.
32 -
LOL nice change, totally needed
have you considered that the killer must down the survivor first to put the trap and he still has 3 damn minutes and not 30 seconds?
14 -
Why is this whole patch survivor sided?
15 -
apparently MoM wasn't enough
can't wait for the awesome freddy "rework"
11 -
@Peanits - Putting a trap on a Survivor after the End Game has already started SHOULD be a death sentence when paired with Blood Warden. It gives players a great reason to start playing one of the lesser played killers.
11 -
That's a very reasonable issue to have to deal with as far as the Pig, but it genuinely seems like BHVR's solution to the problem was just to throw the Pig under the bus. Sure, traps that are already active by Endgame stay active, but now all Traps that are not used by the time the last Generator is finished are garbage. It seems like Pig went from having one of the better endgames to one of the absolute worst. I'm open to being proven wrong about this, but I believe these are really bad changes and should not be left as is without some decently-sized buffs to make up for it.
5 -
I would like to point out that in order to get this death sentence to work properly you need to
A: Down them after the collapse starts
B: Have blood warden
C: Have traps left
D: Have them be saved (meaning someone else is staying)
E: Prevent them from removing the trap for up to 3 minutes straight
F: Do this to at least 2 survivors. Otherwise you aren't getting better results than just camping the hook already does.
13 -
I do some math.
RBT Time : 2,5 min
Endgame Time: 3~5 min
Jigsawbox search time : ~10 seconds
Endgame only activate after open a exit gate.
So their are only death(Endgame collapse), if I put a RBT on them after 3~4 min.
Its not the killer fault, if they need 3~4 min to go through a open gate.
10 -
With inactive traps they can just run out of the exit. Applying traps after doors are available is kinda useless now.
Inactive traps dont kill you at the exit anymore.
4 -
@Raptorrotas I'm responding to what @Peanits said about the RBT being a death sentence in the endgame.
They are, but they are a very hard to use death trap, so go figure.
Now it's not even that.
3 -
Pig is a end game killer like that is one of the few things she was good at if played right. These nerfs butchered that end game play style
7 -
You're trying to tell me....that somehow people can't get a beartrap off in the INFINITE time they have it on since the timer isn't active, plus the extra time they get should they ever be in a chase when end game pauses progression when in contact with the killer? When you give them a full 3 MINUTES to get out PLUS PAUSING DURING A CHASE? IF THE ACTUAL BEAR TRAP TIMER WAS ACTIVE THEY WOULD HAVE DIED IF THEY TOOK THAT LONG TO TAKE IT OFF ITS 2 MINUTES AND 30 SECONDS BY DEFAULT!
So lets assume this evil plot right. Lets assume I have the freddy perk. All the generators are done and there's 3 people left. I down someone pop a trap on them. Meanwhile someone is opening the exit gates. End game starts, I hook the person activate freddies perk. THATS 60 SECONDS EXTRA THEY HAVE TO STAY IN THE MATCH The entire end game takes 3 MINUTES plus extra time should you engage! Tampered timer wouldn't work in this situation because the trap timers aren't active. They get off the hook, they now have at least a full 2 minutes to get the trap off giving their team mates a choice, either keep trying to save the guy I ALREADY TRAPPED AND HOOKED or leave the match <-------IN WHICH THE TIME THAT END GAME STARTED AND I HOOKED THEM I COULD HAVE JUST CAMPED THEM AND SECURED THE KILL ON THAT ONE PERSON ANYWAY.
All this does is ensure that my power is completely useless after the last generator is done.....
It was bad enough that people could just leave with a trap on their heads with the hatch and even a group of them with the key. I can deal with that. But come on.....
6 -
I understand the logic.
But this is very specific and also showing that the Survivor players were thought about more than the Pig players because now the RBT are 100% useless after the collapse starts. There are a slew of other things that could have been done if this is such a HUGE issue.
Examples (not great but are better, imo, then what has been done):
- RBT removal is sped up durin EGC.
- Any box can remove RBT during EGC but removal is slowed
- EGC timer is slowed slightly for every Survivor with an inactive RBT on them
- Edit: Meant to say "Keep as is but:" at the beginning of this one. RBT activate after x amount of time in EGC
And anyway your post doesn't even explain why the RTB timer stops while in her terror radius now.
6 -
First, the Legion nerf. Then the Pig nerf. HILLBILLY NERF INCOMING. (please don't)
3 -
Pig's power should be more lethal not less lethal its already forgiving as hell and that was without these unneeded nerfs.
8 -
That "rework" it what Freddy has nightmares about
3 -
I feel like EGC was an excuse to nerf pig and endgame perks tbh.
9 -
@CL4P_TRAP_ER - You are fine. People asked for that so he won't be nerfed.
2 -
So RBT put on before the last Gen are turned on, but after the last Gen they DON'T turn on, I understand the changes but they destroyed Pig.
She was the best Endgame Killer and now she has nothing but BW and a ######### Remember Me. Like I said I get why they did this part but it still destroyed Pig.
Also wouldn't Crouching help Pig with headpops? Wouldn't this turn Pig into the new Legion? She can follow people wearing them now and force their head to explode. This is why they nerfed Legion to absolute garbage who vaults like a Survivor now.
All Pig has to do is put one on, hook em, wait nearby for a Gen to pop and creep behind them for a few minutes until they cry for PIG OP PLEZ NERF!!!

"Also wouldn't Crouching help Pig with headpops? Wouldn't this turn Pig into the new Legion? She can follow people wearing them now and force their head to explode. This is why they nerfed Legion to absolute garbage who vaults like a Survivor now."
Yup. It's still going to be a bad and inefficient playstyle, but griefers will be able to make people's lives miserable more easily.

Nobody asked for these changes all comments ask traps of the Pig remain as are now.
Revert this!
7 -
Why not just increase the chance of the first box rewarding a key? Make it so the first box has, say, a 75% chance of rewarding a key, with a +5% chance with each further box. As always, the last box would have 100% chance.
This would make it so they have a chance to escape, while not completely ruining the Pig's entire end-game pressure.

:( The sad little piggy oinks hurt me in the feels!!!
I think tweaking the chances of getting the trap off earlier would probably help. I've had to hit the box 4x to get it off. THAT is a death sentence in End Game. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Cant you just revert the changes and just make the time slow down for ever survivor with a trap. That way they still have to take the trap, but they don't have to worry so much about dying to the entity. Also, this would make survivors think twice about saving other survivors because they may get a RTB causing them to spend time taking it off and risking their life. In regard to the situation were theirs one survivor left with an RTB you could make it so if the hatch closes then the solo survivor can escape through the exit gates. This would make Amanda a high mid tier kill due to her ability to slow down both the end game and stop gen rushes while also not making her almost impossible to play against. The devs could just take the slow down time for being downed and implement into the RTB just making it the time slow down for each survivor with a RTB. If survivors or killers think this is unfair please comment and say why?

Wouldn't it make more sense to make RTBs slow down the EGC timer as if the survivor was downed or hooked?
5 -
Out of any killer bhvr nerfs (which you shouldn't have done considering legion is getting nerfed and worse than freddy), they nerf a mid teir killer. I starting to think we may have another dark times scenario as now we have 2 killers worse than freddy. At least freddy slows down the game, pig doesn't anymore. Pig could have been an S Teir killer cause of the endgame but nvm. You guys nerfed Plague in the ptb (which she could have been an S tier killer but ofc survivors yelled "op").
Either way BHVR you may want to undo a lot of changes as you gain suviovrs back, but killers will start leaving the game and you are basically gonna increase the time a survivor will need to find a match.
7 -
Nice changes! I can't wait to see Nurse/Billy reworks!

Stoping the RBT timer in the killer's terror radius is a terrible, terrible idea. It just make them even less threatening than they are right now. Its not needed and nobody asked for it.
You are taking away the Pig's toys and giving her nothing back before we even know if there is problem to begin with.
7 -
That's not how the boxes work. You don't have X% chance of finding a key in a box. One box is the correct one, and all other ones are wrong.
0 -
And the Legion ws an excuse to a borrowed time buff.
2 -
Love the answer a mod gave about reasoning and noone seems okay with that excuse.
Response below actually shows many that its silly to deny a killer 1 single kill for such reasons.
Might as well offer a refund on dlc for giving a killer noone payed for.
6 -
How dare the Pig be able to work the way she was made too from the original day she was designed and poor survivors cannot get rid of a trap in 3 MINUTES!!!
Just face it, ya'll designated to trash this killer during endgame....
9 -
I hate to break it to you but 3 minutes is not short at all. The egc is not a threat to survivors at all. They need to have to want to die for it to be threatening.
It MIGHT be understandable if the egc started at gen 5, but it only starts after a gate has been opened.
But hey, I guess survivors need to be coddled right?
8 -
It's only ever a death sentence if a survivor plays poorly.
They had their chance, but they backed themselves into this corner. They lost Jigsaw's game, and now they die.
That's kinda the point of SAW.
