MoM nerf it's unnecessary and unfair

@PuppetLivesMatter I don't know what backwards world you come from, but the solution "JuSt UsE dIfFeReNt KiLlErS" is the dumbest thing I've seen squeezed out on these forums.
The entire problem with the perk is that it's unavoidable for many killers, and "they're already worse than other killers" is not an excuse to put in perks that majorly nerf them while barely touching higher tier killers.
This is a game with 15 different killers and we shouldn't just be seeing 2 because survivors whine that they want their free wins against everyone else. The best start to that is reworking garbage like MoM, and ignoring players that cry because you're taking off their training wheels.

after all, MoM only allows you to take one extra hit, the killer can still catch you if they're good at chases. please stop complaining about survivor perks and get better as killer.

This is an incredibly sensible outlook to have. Sometimes personal opinions can be less important than the overall health of a game and its community. Its the same reason why many killer mains know that SWF is never going to be removed.

The MoM nerf is absolutely justified, also keep in mind that the change they proposed isn't final and other ideas could be taken into consideration before they even put it on whatever PTB will house the changes to it.
MoM suffers from the same issue as NOED where you're given a huge reward for failing miserably, both are problematic perks that should not exist in their current state. Unlike NOED however, MoM cannot be deactivated and absolutely cripples the M1 killers which already have a hard time in the game as it is.
Reading your other posts, just because the devs have stated that not all killers will be viable does not mean that they should release perks that hit them harder. Infact, if you paid any attention to what the developers have stated, they also said that they want each new killer they release to be fun to play as and against. Making killers fun is a great thing, but releasing a perk that cripples most of the killers in the game means that a lot of these killers they designed will suddenly be incredibly unfun to play because they have no tools to counter MoM.
You also state that Leatherface, Plague, Hillbilly & Huntress can avoid MoM (I don't remember if you mentioned Pig & Legion or not) but what you don't realize is that none of these killers are guaranteed to avoid the perk as some maps or scenario's make using your powers absolutely detrimental. I suppose you also don't remember that survivors want more variety in their games too, and on this list I can only see people using Huntress & Billy if they decided to not change MoM.
Basically, one poorly designed perk should not be allowed to ruin the fun of others who enjoy using the other fun killers the devs put time into making. To tell people to just play viable killers is not only proof that MoM is a stupid perk but also contradicts what survivors really want which is more variety in their matches.

I haven't seen such a big downvoted post since downvotes were a thing.

If the killers are the only ones who are bad, why do you need that one extra hit so badly? Why not take a perk like empathy or bond and be able to use it to read the course of the map through teammates? Or Iron Will to not be heard when juking a killer and effectively ending the chase before it gets to that? I mean I could insert applications for plenty of perks and how they can help survivors avoid/end chases, but I think you get the idea.
"second chance perks" are bad design in competitive games. Anti-snowballing is all well and good, but if an anti-snowball tool is a snowball tool in and of itself, its not exactly the right way to approach the problem. You're basically looking for a way to temporarily invalidate someone else's superior play, which is very bad for a game's health.

Can I state that Mettle Of Man was changed because it promoted bad play?
Can I state that like you said it took 3 years for DS to be nerfed is really long?
Can I state that MoM's change promotes helping your team now?

Depends on who you main i guess. Most weaker M1 Killer mains are pissed cause there is no true counter for them. They are also the weaker ones so having a perk that affects the weaker more than the strong ones just makes no sense.
That being said, i think it'd be more reasonable to reduce the number of required protection hits to 2.

Have nothing to really contribute to this thread other than saying what's already been said.
One of the devs on yesterdays stream said it well: a powerful perk should have some sort pre-requisite.
Imagine having a great reward in a quest but all you need to do is walk to the NPC next door and turn it in to get that reward. Now you actually need to DO something to get that sweet payoff. Seems fair to me, and makes the payoff even sweeter when you know YOU went out of your way to make it happen.
Although reading OP's posts has been a pretty fun time sink lol.

so protection hits ? I think that's problematic as well. I can already see survivors running in front of killers in a chase to get that protection hit, instead of doing gens. Desperately getting 3 hits is hard, and time consuming as well.

Can I state that Mettle Of Man took only a month to fix as DS took 3 years.

That's not the killers fault.

Agreed.

Bump for the bump god.
Make MoM pip progression from any and all damage received within the radius of other players or this nerf is not fair, consistent or balanced as without this MoM has no way to counter M2 Killers and other 1 shot M1 and M2 Killers.

it's unbalance
so the devs nerf it
git gud lol

Survivors before the announcement of the MoM change: "The perk is fine! Its not even that great! It is not OP! It has sooo many counters!"
Survivors after the announcement of the changes to MoM: "You can't do this! You just can't! It's not fair! I'm switching to killer!"
It is very obvious that MoM is too powerful and needs some changes.

hahaha.. baby survivors still complaining about it lols.
instead of whining about the perk now before the nerf even goes in yet.. why don't you wait for what the new MOM.. play it.. and provide some feedback on why you don't like the new changes, if you don't.
The reality is... The perk is going to be changed... They've already starting moving forward on it.
Just like when MOM was leaked and all the whiners came out to complain before they even knew for 100% it was going into the game... What happened? The Devs still put the perk in as it was...
So what makes you think they are going to all of a sudden stop with the MOM nerf? Cause you made a big long thread about it?
LOLs.

Looking forward to some conditions. I stopped using it cause it felt unnecessary and overly easy. Was getting way to relaxed with it as a fallback.

Nah, it's to strong for something you always have access too. The rework is kinda a reverse Borrowed Time.
I'm on record saying that I think it's a bad change. But because Killers are currently nudged in the direction of tunneling as it is. And I feel the rework will push that meta further.
I wish they would tie it to repairing a generator yourself or somehting.
