Survivors are abusing a bugged perk.
I'm not gonna say which perk cause I'd rather not have too many of these but a certain one is making gens extremely fast to complete. Will these survivors get a ban? Similar to people who used the double blade combo on Legion.

I really want to do this myself, just to test it, but It's probs gonna get an emergency patch.

Double blade combo still works btw, that is bannable cuz its 10+ minutes mend which is different
no one got banned when tinkerer was bugged, same with clown addons, devs will make official announcement before it becomes bannable, there were other exploits as well, like the gap on garage where you can go through walls etc, no one gets banned
Survivors are the main playerbase, unless you want killer queues to go higher

They are not going to ban more than a quarter of survivors playing the game. Whether or not those survivors deserve it is its own discussion. But you can’t ban the sheer number of people cheating right now.

Yeah, not gonna bother playing killer until they fix it. I want to have fun and getting gen-rushed due to bugged perks aren't it.

lol main playerbase ... without killers there is no game or dbd. this doesnt get fixed asap people will stop playing and killer population will decline

They should make an Ingame Message ASAP. And then ban those players who are still abusing it.
(If they cannot/dont fix it basically right now)

Killer population decline is actually good dude, queues right now are 30 minutes, we have way too many Killers

yesterday was when the big DBD streamers started showing it, many are running it all stream etc which means last night = 1000s of more survivors running it.
some are even fog whisperers LUL

As soon as I realized what was going on I stopped playing killer. I think you are underestimating how bad killer numbers will get if they don’t fix this fast.

over dramatic. its only like that because of this event .... without this event or ghostfaces release it will decline and drop. keep spitting in killers faces. and people watch the population decline. it isnt rocket science lol.

4 survivors have to stop playing for every killer that does so in order to keep the games current queue times. If survivors outnumbered killers 3 to 1 for example, you would see a complete flip if even only a fourth of killers switched to survivor.

Some killers were also abusing the Tinkerer 2 bug in the past. Did they get banned for it? Can't quite remember.

In case people are wondering what they're talking about..
Back in the day there was a bug relating to the second tier of the Tinkerer perk. Once triggered, the killer lost his terror radius PERMANENTLY for the rest of the trial instead of the normal.. 10 seconds or so? Was pretty broken.

I think I know what perk you're talking about, and I am not surprised at all. These players just want to ruin the events for others and think it's hilarious. Wouldn't be surprised if they're the same players who thought MoM didn't need the nerf.

It is better to put this stuff in the bug report section, the devs will see it but less frequent forum users will.

Lol they don't ban any survivors for abusing bugs. Entity blocker exploit no one gets banned this bug? Probably not but of course if a killer uses it it's an instant permanent ban. Totally not survivor favoured devs at all they say!

I agree that this needs to be fixed as soon as possible but you cant just go banning people for using a perk... Hear me out, say before this bug came to light someone was just running said perk because they wanna help their team out and they don't know about said bug. Then they just get banned. I'm pretty sure they would be very angry and they would have the right to be. I say disable said perk until a fix is put into the game instead of banning.

Anybody who thinks bans are the appropriate response to this are out of their damn minds. This is 100% Behavior's fault. And even if you can't quickly hotfix it or disable it, you can quickly hot patch it to 0% instead of 15% until you figure out how to fix it properly. Saying players should be banned instead of saying Behavior should quick fix the problem is ridiculous.

Simply using something isn't abuse. If there were very specific interactions required, then it would be abuse. But solely having a perk in your loadout slot is completely standard for perks. Especially when that perk makes perfect since when it's working correctly after the EGC addition. That's only one stage below saying anybody playing killer should be banned for abuse if Behavior makes a mistake and all killers have instadown M1 hits after the first time they hook a survivor.

What the heck is this perk people are talking about? Is it actually Wake Up that's making generators go faster? I was using Prove Thyself all last night which you'd think would be a perk that would break and make gens go faster haha
I honestly don't even think I have Wake Up if that's the case. How does this perk make generators go by faster??

The best thing the devs could do while they fix it would be to do the one thing they never do, which is to disable the specific equipment until it's fixed.

That's the first thing that comes to my mind as well, but I can't currently recall them ever disabling a perk before. It's possible I just have a bad memory, but it's also possible that they don't have a system for disabling perks.

They never have done that, exploiters were either banned for exploiting or they let exploiters exploit.

With this bug +left behind +Spine chill and resilience and a purple toolbox you can do gens in 9.45 seconds...... dont believe.... search up cowsiam.... he just posted a vid about it

That's an extreme circumstance that only happens at the end of game when you're the only one left alive. The chances of that coming into play outside of a pre-planned environment are next to impossible given the hatch close mechanic triggering end game collapse and disabling generators.

Wow I just tested this bug out to confirm. This explains how the gen rush has been so crazy lately. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

How is that relevant when the main factor is left behind which can't be used unless you're the last survivor?

I wish we could at least get a dev response here confirming they know about it and are looking into it.
Maybe even an announcement similar to when we had the Legion bug telling people not to do it or they will receive bans.

While this is true, it also takes 4 survivors to start a match, while only needing one killer. Banning many survivors for using a bugged perk (which might i add, is confusing and worrying in itself on how it was even bugged in the first place) would kill a lot of the games player base, which will make queues even longer. Killers are still obviously important, but survivors are too. Also, people weren't banned for abusing the tinkerer bug, or the wraith bug with sloppy butcher- so i have doubts that using wake up will result in a ban.

A lot of people would just swap to killer at some point lmao.

Sprint Burst is also broken.
You can choose the timing.
It is abused and has an unfair advantage.

Why ban user for a perk that is useful for endgame collapse ?
Just fix it, it's the game fault, not the gamers.
