BHVR, can we acknowledge fps on console is AWFUL since 4.1.0?

And they still don't say. We know there is a problem and will fix it
2 -
I think it is what it is at this point. Doubt anything will be done.

It's weekend.. Let's just keep the post on first page for now... On Monday we go back to that
3 -
21 Haa they said it couldn't be done but here we are still saying please fix our frame rates 🐷🙏
4 -
it can always worsen.
Maybe it's just an endurance test, the last active console player will eventually get a 200,000 bloodpoints gift! Oh, I'll be the one laughing when I'll win the prize, eheheh.
eh.

TydeTyme played a round or two as killer (Hag maybe?) back before he abandoned DBD on console. I seem to remember him summarize it up as "both gross and disgusting!" compared to on a PC.
1 -
It will be mine.. If not I will see you hopefully in the fog and you'll know its me because of how positive and crazy I am. But regardless it will be mine my precious.. We will meet someday when those give up and it will be glorious.. But at low frame quality lol my apologies.

The three of us. Queued up. Watching the campfire flicker at 3fps. Waiting for a fourth to join. Waiting... always waiting...
3 -
Yup bump again.
3 -
Always two frames, there are. No more, no less.
6 -
Turn your console off:
-Keep holding the turn on button till you hear 2 beeps of the Ps4, release on the second beep.
-Connect your controller through the USB cable.
-Set the resolution to 720 and then do the process again to select rebuild database.
On topic: Frame drops are also occurring on dbd loading screen, lobbies, load out. 🤐
3 -
Push
2 -
You can also do it a bit easier:
Go to settings -> sound and screen -> video output settings -> resolution.

I dusted off my 5 year old laptop and installed DBD on it last night out of curiosity more than anything. I was doubtful DBD would run well as the laptop did not meet the minimum specs but guess what... I got better framerate than the PlayStation 4, there was the occasional hiccup here and there but nothing worse than the console version.
To put it simply, i think the console versions of DBD are really bad ports and I don't think any patch will fix the issues we are facing.
I hope cross-progression comes to all current gen consoles at some point so I can make the permanent switch to PC.

Must. Comment. 20. Page. Thread.
In other news, Console frames have been the drizzlin shyts since the last two patches came out.
3 -
Yea we arent letting this thread die.
7 -
It was a joke a few pages ago that this would get more pages than the average framerate on console.
Looks like it's a reality now lmao.
15 -
Had more than on Lery's when it was first made...
3 -
And still no proper acknowledgment from the devs...
3 -
I just don't get why we were supposed to get one last year when Legion was coming. Console Optimization soon! And years after.
darn

I've been having a lot of troubles with Ps4 frames, I uninstalled all of my games to free some space... tried my best... I have decided to stop playing dead by daylight till it gets fixed, I can't. 😔

Bump cause this is getting ridiculous.
I know pc players are the majority of the playerbase but theres enough players on consoles to move forward with this fps update.
FPS should have been fixed before crossplay.
Stop buying cosmetics and aura cells. They have no reason to fix anything if we just keep giving them our money anyway.
The devs prioritize the wrong things to get fixed first and the more time you spend on this fourm and playing DBD, you really start to realize that if there not making money off it then trust me its not even being thought about.
They probably have a monthly meeting where they discuss this fps issue and this is how i think it goes
"Hey john the consoles players are still complaining about the FPS optimization we promised them over a year ago and never delivered"
"Hey bob how much we do in sales in cosmetics on consoles this month?"
"Well john, the amateur consoles players are just eating up all the new stuff we released, profits are looking good this month"
*laughs* "stupid console players will never understand"
"Just have a mod go post in the fourms that were still working on it, its worked this far lets just keep it going"
"Hey bob hows that new skin coming along for the new killer?... Yeah?... Make sure we bump up the price to $20 for this legendary skin."
"You sure there going to pay more for this skin than they did for the whole game? Of course there going to pay it!
"Make the new legendary skin top priority! Cya next month"

Killing is all but impossible on console right now, but I feel the frame drops as survivor as well. Rough playing either side atm.
In what insane existence is our play experience supposed to be equal to a PCer? Not even close.
3 -
Oh no. This is on page. We gonna not.
3 -
Survivors are using indoor maps offerings.....
How pitty must someone be to force a map that is completely unplayable for the other side.

Bump

As of this writing, the thread had fallen to the first post of the second page. Too far down in my book. Would love to see some resources used on improving the really rough frame rate performance. Anyone know if dbd will actually run better on the PS5 or new Xbox when they come out?
3 -
They haven't said anything and ps5 comes out in 3 months so the silence doesn't give me high hopes. 😬
5 -
Do bones.
5 -
I would hope it would run 60 fps no problem, but I wouldn't count on it. I remember reading an article a while back that said they would have enhancements for dbd on the xbox one x and that never happened.
3 -
Hoping this thread doesn't die. PS4 seems to be getting worse by the day! :/

I guess it is time for metacriti reviews because not responding for such a long time is really not the way to treat paying fans and customers.
4 -
Done: Dead by Daylight has a huge Problem at the moment: The Frame Rates on PS4 are so low that the game is not running smoothly and it is nearly impossible to play some Killers on certain maps. The Community has tried to get some Feedback from the Devs but there is silence since weeks. There is a thread at https://forum.deadbydaylight.com which explains everything with over 14k Views and 600+ Replies but not 1 (!) single reply of the Dev Team. So as a paining customer i and a play time with roughly 3000 Hours + must say I am really disappointed how the devs treat their customers and fans. Make the frames on PS4 great again!
8 -
I play killer mainly on ps4 and its attrocious. Survivors have way better frames so its very easy for them to 360 even when i predict it because of lag spikes for no reason or the aim dressing being the dumbest thing to ever add.
5 -
Yes the aim dressing is so annoying and unfair. What makes it even more annoying is when the survivor is so bad at pathing and looping that they would go down in 15 seconds or so but because they know how to exploit the aim dressing they get undeserved second chances every game. The FPS makes that even worse.
4 -
at least now these kind of console players are getting demolished against pc killers.
..I hate survivors. 🥕

Aight found a minor cause for some low frame games on console. This'll help a bit.
Characters that have dripping effects such as the hallowed blight skins make frames drop. I would recommend taking off charms and cosmetics that have this effect. As well as this ive found that bright cosmetics (not bright colours, like a glowing effect with the tier 70 charms) also hinder the frames a bit. I just wouldn't use any hallowed blight things.
This would also explain why Demo's frames are so low, with the constant dripping effect of saliva in his mouth.
For all console nurses out there, do not use the jack O lantern head piece, my friend tested that head and he was having horrible frames due to the effect it spawns.
2 -
Except a majority of those who abuse the aim dressing the most have turned crossplay off just for that reason. Some just cannot win without abusing a flawed game mechanic.
2 -
So the Blight that comes standard with that look is definitely going to be unplayable on console.
5 -
I'm sure he'll have a load of cosmetics which make things even worse
4 -
He already looks like an extremely frame reliant killer. Close to nurse levels due to the sudden camera readjustments you have to make.
He was already doomed from the start with the frames, the dripping effect in his mouth and his character in general is probably going to be the nail in the coffin for him.
Inb4 BHVR puts in a Legendary skin for him with no bright or dripping effects, making frames better with that skin.
6 -
No no no.
This thread is not leaving the 1st page.
Console players deserve a playable game too with stable FPS and proper optimization!
5 -
goodluck with that but really hope something done soon.
4 -
I just want to find everyone of a very simple concept while we're on this topic, because there are those that seem to go with the sentiment "This is a PC game first, you should be happy you got anything at all"
No booboo, that's not how it works. They put themselves in a market they had no business getting into if they cannot figure out how console optimization works. We as the customer have a right to a working service, and as DBD is a games as a service model especially, they are copeable for the experience of their product, especially when considering haphazard decisions such as implementing cross play when optimization should have held easy priority over that.
Not only this, but you must remember, people have given hours of their lives away just to earn the money to buy this game and all it's DLC, which over time has outpriced the original game.
That's money that could have been saved for a rainy day, could have went towards bills, hell, could have been used towards charity, ANYTHING ELSE, but we chose as customers to pay for your product and the best solution most can come up with is "Buy it again" "get a PC" as of the answer is to throw more money at a game we've already spent plenty on... And let's be quite honest and clear, this game is Janky AF. It is not so technically demanding as to be impossible to properly implement on console, it's simply that BHVR don't know what they're doing a here and had no interest in investing money to trully get it working by bringing in someone who could have optimized long ago, they preferred to keep A steady stream of cash flowing with DLC and take more money.
And some will likely say we knew what we were getting into by buying a port game.. Which if this were the 90's I'd almost agree with. But this is 2020, and console's aren't some far off relative of PC anymore, that gap is starting to close and has been for almost 2 gens now.
Regardless of that fact, we paid. We paid money, and invested time, and I think that deserves a little more than "we're looking into it". I think this may be erring on the side of legal recourse, but I'm no lawyer.
12 -
I just wish they would give us an update on how optimization is progressing. We haven't got an update on optimization since the middle of last year. They have been dead silent since then with almost no notable improvement in console performance.
8 -
This is a great comment, I agree with everything you have said.
3 -
I appreciate it man, if nothing else at least it's nice to know others are just as bothered by this negligence, sometimes I feel like I'll just be screaming into the void here

You're welcome. I wouldn't be surprised if someone files a lawsuit at some point.
