Everybody who bought the skins for 21k should be refunded.
I had around 74k iridescent shards and spent 43200 in two skins and now, without any warning, each skin costs 9k.
#########?
Receive a response from support:
I'm done with this game.
I lost my time getting all those shards to getting literally scammed.
That's a developer who really put their players in first place, huh?
This is their EULA.
EULA states: "All purchase of Virtual Goods, whether made with "real money" or virtual currencies, are non-refundable and non-returnable" and "BHVR reserves the right to modify the price for Virtual Goods that may be "purchased" at any time"
Even steam has the same ######### and if you contact the support most of the times they refund the game for you to get with the discounted price.
If they don't refund this thing is pretty simple im personally going to stop playing the game and everybody can do whatever with their life. :)

Yeah, they messed up again. Its incredible what is happening...

They bought something for an agreed upon price.
Did those people expect the price to never change or go on sale?
Honestly I feel its what those people deserve for still supporting BHVR with this obvious cash grab.
25 -
Same issue. I've tweeted at the devs and have had a few people respond with unity, so hopefully they'll notice what's up.
That's maybe a valid point when it has been quite some time since the original price and its corresponding discount. But these outfits were out on the store for less then a day before they were slashed by almost 60%. Steam for example offers refunds to consumers who fall victim to that kind of BS.
24 -
I just bought the Feng skin last night before I went off..
12 -
Depends. If these are old skins that are being discounted after some time, I would agree. If these are new skins that are being discounted out of nowhere almost immediately after releasing them, I would say that it is unreasonable to make that assumption and not very fair to the people who bought in during a specific window.

All I can say is: Caveat emptor
5 -
Doesn't really change my stance.
4 -
For those of us who purchased the now discounted costumes prior to this change, how will we be refunded the difference in our shards, so we can get an additional costume now that the price is reduced? Overall, like this change to better align with the past events we've all loved - thank you bE.
1 -
it's just common sense, their policies is ######### in this situation, and it look now more and more like a big cash grag. (well it always was one but those policies of non refund even in this situation are pretty ######### in my opinion)

Dont get me wrong. I do think it was a completely scummy thing to do. But nowhere did they say the cosmetics would stay a certain price for a certain time. Also, a Halloween sale had been announced since the very start with up to 75% discounts. It cant be completely unexpected at the same time.
I do feel bad for the ones that bought the cosmetics. BHVR didnt give us an event and the people buying the Halloween cosmetics to dress up and embrace the season for themselves and others make a difference (same with Christmas when all people can do is wear an ugly jumper).
The TLDR of it is that BHVR are scummy and we shouldnt be surprised when they take full advantage of people that put any faith in them.
13 -
Wow. They dont even care? Why are they trying to trash their own game? What is even happening?
11 -
If they refund people for this it'll set precedent for people to start demanding refunds on dlc/cosmetics they buy at release that go on sale later.
6 -
Caveat emptor means nothing to me if the practice is scummy.
Or, if I want to be honest, caveat emptor means nothing to me.
4 -
But this is different. The sale happened within a few days. They will never have a sale this quickly again.
6 -
The scummy practices arent new Behaviour (see what I did there?).
We've known for a while who we're dealing with. That picture is becoming more and more clear with each cash grab they try to push on us as an "event".
We shouldnt be surprised when they try to screw us. At this stage its to be expected. If you fall for it at this stage you just havent been paying attention.
4 -
In the article posted on their website on the 21st they said the outfits would be going on sale today, it's not like it was snuck in.
8 -
All I care about is this individual instance.
1 -
I think they should have serum to earn the outfits and that David's should atleast be on free part of rift instead of paid when you have to grind for it. However, the sale for these cosmetics was announced in the blog post about the Halloween event on the 21st, it wasn't something they just sprung on everyone.
2 -
Really they posted something outside of the game on an item that just came out and you dont think they snuck it?
Why not post it in the news inside the game..if they werent trying to be sneaky?
7 -
-
Usually I don't have a lot of patience for drama around cosmetics since it's entirely optional and has no functional impact on the game. This definitely sucks, though. BHVR's of course within their rights to do this, but you're definitely within your rights to be frustrated. I definitely would be.
4 -
Are you sure this is the same thing? The cosmetics in your screenshot are the 2018 and 2019 ones, I think. People in this thread are talking about skins that were on sale for like a day before being discounted. OP didn't say what specific skins they bought, but still.
If they just discounted the 2018 and 2019 skins, I don't think there's any reason to complain. That's just tough luck. If they discounted the 2020 skins right after release, though, that really blows for the people who bought it at full price.
15 -
Its going to piss people off again if you screw them over thousands of shards and the whole goal of this change was to stop people from being mad so yeah....
3 -
I spent 21k shards on the yui blight cosmetic, and now those outfits are only 9k?? There was no sign of a discount when the outfits came out so can people that bought them early get our shards back??
4 -
The EULA excuse is bad. They are in control of the EULA. If the EULA is so important then they could just give everyone who bought the skins an equivalent amount of free currency. Then it's not technically a refund and thus not a violation.
3 -
Well was to be expected
They responded to the backlash and tried to make things right but in turn messed up for those who already bought it.
You can't please everyone. Refunds will most likely not happen cause you bought it for the agreed price.
It sucks but overal probably the right way to go
4 -
I feel scammed too. Do you know how long it takes to amass over 40k of shards?? I bought 2 outfits full price and now this discount is just a punch in the face. I will remember that, when further DLCs come out. Bet on it, Behaviour.
13 -
Yeah, I spent 7200 shards out of my saved up 9200+ shards just for the Legion's mask, but I'm still pissed that I effectively lost 4200 shards, enough for another piece and almost half of another, because I was unaware they were going to backpedal and put a bandage over it by reducing shard price (nothing has ever gone on a shard sale before so I couldn't anticipate either)

That article only specifies the Hallowed Blight and Hallowed Catalyst collections, which are the outfits from the previous 2 Halloween events. This year's collection is Hallowed Curse.
13 -
if they dont want to piss people off more then yes

The link Was in the in game news, you just had to click the link for more info like majority of their in game news posts.
They also shared the link to the News post in the event announcements on Twitter and Facebook. They probably should've posted it in News section of forums too but they could assume people get here through the website. Not sure how all streamers do it but I know Paulie Esther atleast goes through and reads the entire News post on streams and videos.
The sale was announced at same time as the event announcement News post. It's not DBD fault when people decide to not follow the link that provides all the details to the events like the date of an upcoming sale.
2 -
I'm not sure you know what is going on here.
The sale you show here is for older cosmetics. The new sale, that just came out today as "compensation", is for the new skins that have been out for less than a day. This sale was not posted anywhere and was just sprung on us because they believed it was a good idea. It is, in theory, but anyone who spent their shards on the one day they were full price literally got screwed.
9 -
Dude, they put banners with news like you showed all the time in the game news..enough with these links. They could have easily posted the picture with the sale written on it. Rediculous.
2 -
As much as that sucks, that's pretty normal business practice everywhere around the globe, not just in games. You don't really get prompted when a certain sale is about to hit consumers, well, not always at least. Look at Sony Playstation store for example. You might buy a game full price right now but within a week that game might be in sale for 50% off. Do you contact sony support and ask for a refund? That's just the nature of the business. If you are afraid of losing on good sales, just save up your shards, don't spend them unless there's a sale going on.
2 -
Actually if you bought a game within a week of a sale you can call Sony(Playstation support) to receive a refund. They are usually pretty good about it.
6 -
Yup, i also bought 2/3 of the feng outfit when it was pretty much clear that there won't be any serum this year.
I don't know how they do it but they pretty much seem to have some kind of skill to make the community mad over and over again.
2 -
I mean atleast it was earnable shards I spent actual cash like an idiot...
1 -
Ye, please reconsider the way you want to handle this or the community will be even more mad than before.
Having no event is one thing but having some of the community members lose shards because of that is even worse.
5 -
You definitely have it worse, but it still sucks either way.
1 -
Pretty sure Steam and Sony will refund you when this ######### happens.
Places like Amazon, Best Buy, etc. will do the same as well. Usually within a 14 day window. This DBD price drop has been like, 2 days since the Skins were put up lol.
7 -
That's a big if
1 -
Sony is known to be notoriously anti-consumer when it comes to refunds. Yeah, they got the basic covered unlike Nintendo, but I haven't come across something like this. If you purchase a game from their store, download it and play, yeah, you can kiss your refund goodbye. Now, if you just purchase but don't download it, they do refund, but that's not really a fair comparison to this situation.

the cosmetics from previous events werent sold for Irishards and could be earned through grindy prosses, theyre Auric cells only now, these new ones were sold for shards aswell as auric cells. and for those hording shards would get them for free. a lot of people were complaining that it was too grindy now all you suckers that didnt care and bought them anyway complain theyre on sale. lmao you guys will never be happy
2 -
Why do people keep getting surprised by this?
1 -
Another thread confirmed that you're out of luck.
1 -
The whole point of this discount and free shards is because people were really really pissed off. If they dont just run a script thats for every cosmetic piece not bought with auric cells give 4200 shards, people are still going to be pissed off, so whats even the point of the change.
Its really simple change and theres no way they dont keep track of people's purchases.
1 -
Same i bought 2 outfits full price
3 -
Late late night I finally managed to get enough shards to buy one piece of the new legion skin. As we all learned from the in-game news system, we were not going to receive any kind of special currency to buy these skins, so I spent almost all of my hard-earned iridescent shards.
And then, today, I find out that if I just waited two days (again, there was NO WAY to know this) I would have enough to buy THE WHOLE SKIN.
I'm so mad right now I keep questioning why do I lose my time investing in this game only to be disappointed again and again...
5 -
I dunno. Way back when I first got DBD I bought all of it, all DLC (up to Clown, Spirit wasn't out yet) downloaded it and played. Within the week it was discounted. All of it. So I called and got a refund to make up the difference. Granted though, that refund was in the form of codes to add funds to the PS Store. But I already spent that money on the store so it was fine. So maybe you can't really call it a refund, but I consider it as much.
