This isn't nearly the same thing as something just "going on sale" of course people know that will eventually happen.
These items came out like 3 days ago. Outrage caused this to happen and a lower price. The irony is their MOST loyal costumers got screwed over by the change lol. They absolutely should get a refund.
I just bought 2 outfits for less than what some of them paid for 1. I would be insanely frustrated right now if I spent 42,000 shards for 2 outfits only for them to decrease the price by over 100%.
This would be like buying the new console this year and 1 week later they sell them for 200$. People would be furious.

I've been saving my iridescent shards since halloween 2018 and only spent on DLCS and one Jane costume.
This event should be like the last 2 instead of the way was released. Every person who complained about being too greedy is right and now every person who is complaining about the price change is right too.
You should put yourself in the place of other people and try to see why they are feeling this way instead of being so close mind.

I mean, I'm sorry to tell you that, for once, BHVR doesn't have any faults. I mean, it's just like when you bought a game day one, then a months after the game gets discounted. You just took the L, period. Why should you get a refund? Wouldn't be the same, like if you bought Blight only for undying, just to find the day after that undying is in the shrine?

Is pretty simple, they have the EULA to defend them but this is a question of principles. Also we are not talking about months, we are talking about 2 days and with a currency that NEVER had any sale.
They can refund the shards for us, the people who play tons of the game and enjoy it. Opening a exception on the EULA for this specific case or they can say "frick you we are right" and keep going.
I didn't DEMAND refund i just said that's the right thing to do ethically.

Also I'm pretty sure you can't release things on sale as soon as it release I believe fallout 76 was called out for this so they had to place its original price. So bhvr covered themselves

They changed the iridescent shards prices for the Halloween sets from 21600 to 9000 and don't want to refund people who bought before the change.
Nothing to do with linking bhvr accounts.

The new "event" skins they put up are 21k shards.
Due to how terrible the "event" is and the massive backlash against it, they've lowered the cost of these 21k skins by a huge amount.
2 days after they put up the skins and with no warning.
Looks like the people who already spent 21k won't be refunded/reimbursed.

still, what did they do wrong? they choose the price of their skins, they can change it whenever they want it. This stuff happens a lot of times, in like video games, or streetwear markets. I'm not judging them for using the EULA as an excuse, I don't really see why they should refund people just cause people took an L.

They did say the old event skins would be on sale beforehand, however.
Also I'm a bit confused as for me on the day the event began, the skins were showing as 13,600 shards? Definitely a scummy move and they should really refund the excess lost as goodwill. Doubt they will, though. It IS Bhvr.

I bought the Head and Body of the True Blight Cosmetic before the sale happened with Iridescent Shards and feel a bit ripped off. I spent a told of 14,400 as that takes months of getting to. The Cosmetic was lowered to 9,000 where I now missed out having the full cosmetic and still having 5,400 Iridescent Shards left over. I was hoping if there's any possible way to get a refund on my shards. I know I'm not the only one who wasted so much on shards. I would greatly appreciate if I could have something done. Just unfortunate for me and those who grinded so long and get a bit of a slap in the face for trying to cool cosmetics for a event.

Thats like the worst example ever. Couple months? Those skins came out like 4 days ago. Then had the price discounted by over 68% due to backlash about the event in general not even the cosmetics. There was absolutely zero reason for anyone to expect those outfits to become discounted at least "for a couple of months". I mean its Halloween season afterall they wanted to use them now.
That is bad business plain and simple. Its GOOD business that they lowered the price because of outrage. But terrible business if they don't compensate the people who were willing to do business with them regardless.

May be, BHVR is legally right. But I find it unethical towards loyal customers. I'm upset cuz I bought one of these outfits for 21600 shards.

you want to know the reason? because devs wanted so. period, they can do whatever they want with their skins. There's no ethics or scam. You just took the L, accept it. They'll never give refunds because they're not even capable of keeping tracks of who purchased said skins before a certain date (legacy restore teaches us something, right?)...
as said, let's make an example: new killer comes out, he has a super meta perk. You don't want to wait for the perk to come out to the shrine and you buy instantly the killer. Then the day after the perk appears on the shrine: would you consider this a scam? no, you're just unlucky.

Well this is a valuable lesson on waiting for those who bought early. You thought the skin was worth 21,000 shards so you bought it for that. It's like buying bitcoin at its peak and watching it drop only to ask for a refund, such is life :/

You can now get one more Halloween outfit with the discount and iridescent shards they are giving you, what's there to be unhappy about. Yes you could have gained more if you waited but its not like your losing anything smh

I decided to wait and don't buy any skins because I thought that maybe, with the backlash that was happening, since the event didn't give any free skins, the devs would change their mind and give us a free one. Glad I didn't buy any before. Now I have, at the new price. I can understand that people are upset. If they wanted to have a lower price, it should have been from the start, not two days later.

They have a record of gamer tags of everyone who has purchased the skins. It would be a simple move to refund the difference.
If they refund, they regain the trust of those who bought it and the community who are convinced that the company is excessively greedy. Not refunding will just prove all the haters right and add fuel to the fire by alienating everyone who bought it.
They dont have to, but it would be a poor business decision not to. People buying the skins aren’t casual fans, they’re the more dedicated and more active in forums. Keeping them happy will keep them buying the next dlc and the next skins. If they don’t refund a few dollars now, it’ll cost them a lot more in the long run.

You make a moot point. They can do whatever they want with their property. So what? Who here actually thinks otherwise? Its simply common sense that not compensating them in some way IS BAD BUSINESS. You don't do business with companies that piss you off plain and simple.
Shrine example is also the worst example ever. How often does that happen? Has that EVER happened? I am 99.999% sure they would NEVER do that. That would be DIRECTLY giving a small portion of players incentive to NOT purchase the DLC they are hoping to sell. Even if it did happen and somehow Shrine perks are random which I highly doubt they are random. The odds of that happening are far less likely then them being like. Heres an outfit for 21k shards. No wait its 9k and if you paid the higher price you're screwed.
If I paid for 3 outfits for 63k shards and this happened with no compensation. That would be the incentive I needed to quit playing. That is a MASSIVE portion of grind time pissed away for nothing. With absolutely zero reason to think it WOULD happen.

Yeah, I spent 14,400 shards for the Head and Body of the True Blight Cosmetic. All I'd like make a return amount for what I bought, like an exchanged since they lowered it and I would have only spent 6,000 shards. I'd like 8,400 shards as that is what I would still have left from spending them from the price change.

Thinking they would make a change to how they are earned is completely reasonable.
People having a clue they would suddenly lose massive shards though was not a reasonable thing to anticipate. I would be insanely pissed.

So we get treats over dealing with the bugs and then the outfits are over 50 percent off! Really?! I wasted 21000 shards so I can save money to buy other games. Just so it can be reduced to 9000! That is BULL, I have been saving my sharda forever just to buy cosmetics I like or new characters if I didn't have money. And now I lost 21000 shards when I could have lost 9000. Really wish that if you were to reward us for sticking with this game for bugs you should do it right away. Anyways that's my rant

Slightly different but similar; I’ve lost track of the amount of killers or perks etc that I’ve bought only to be changed days later.
How many skins have been completely bugged at release that would have been noticed if anyone had played a single game with the skin equipped - classic Ghostface; Minotaur Oni etc etc, people are paying for things that aren’t really fit for purpose.
It’s sad that we live in this culture of ‘no need to test it, buy now fix later’, and that can be waaaay later too :(
Bought Blight and by the time I had started to get decent perks on him his addons get changed, his power gets changed, he’s bugged so bouncing is hit or miss if you will slide; and they are aware and looking at it but it wasn’t fixed with this update and updates aren’t very frequent so it’s a long wait without using the new thing I bought, or play with a broken version of the thing I bought that isn’t the same as the thing when I bought it a couple days prior :S
I honestly kick myself every time for getting caught up in the hype and the streams etc and then regret it days later. I’ve been playing since console launch and have had this so often that I should know better by now but I really want to be positive about this game that the fantasy of is so brilliant and unique, sooner or later though you have to realise it’s like a toxic relationship where no matter how much you love you get hurt again and again :’)

Just as a heads up, I didn't spend any shards on the skins but the amount of nonsense being spewed by some people is getting out of hand.

This is a classic manipulation tactic developers use to sucker people into buying something before the inevitable backlash they know they will receive before throwing a bone to the community as a form of "good will."

I also feel kinda betrayed with this. The fact that they'll give us up to 10.000 Shards as log in reward doesn't help that much with the situation.
I bought one set yesterday. I only had about 10k shards saved. Due to the fact that I really wanted that skin bad, I purchased one part with shards and bought the other two parts with auric cells. Now, a few hours later, I get the information that I could have gotten the full set now with the shards I already had saved and would not have to spent real money to get it before halloween.
Usually there's never a discount on new cosmetics that just got released so there was no way for anyone to guess that this could happen. Even if they have it in their policy this is just not okay, especially regarding customer satisfaction.
I'm a loyal player and usually don't mind spending money on a game I play thousands of hours. But this time I feel betrayed and the way they dealt with this is not good enough imo. Even if I hadn't paid with auric cells, for people who bought the cosmetics for 21k shards the 10k shards log in bonus is a joke.this doesn't even make up the 12k shards they paid more than others now. And tbh people who buy the cosmetics that early are mostly the people who support the game the most. It is a shame and really sad that those true fans and supporters got scammed that hard.

The basic thing is this:
people are pissed about the event and they are giving a discount on the skins as an apology. But the people who paid full price essentially don’t get an apology. They get screwed.
They have the right to do so and aren’t obligated to refund, but it truly is not giving their most dedicated players the same consideration or apology that everyone else gets.
