Depipping needs to be adressed (especially on survivor)
I continue post on this subject I do always my best to pip or safety pip every game as survivor but it's not possible. You still depip as often as you pip in gold and red grade. Only thing you can hope is to get lucky and get fair or weak killers to move up grades. Or hope to get 3 gen holding killers as long matches are best way to pip.
But that all again just luck you don't know will the killer play sweaty as possible tunnel/camp and slug in soloQ this most often result quick win for killer even if im not the person targeted when your team dies quickly that will still result in depip anyway.
Depip standards should be significantly lowered or pip standards should be lowered overall. Many games ends in safety pip you could now pip when your team escapes too quicky or you do everything else right unhooks, heals, gens and chases but don't escape. That would be fine if depip standards would not be so high.
There is no real reason to depip standards still be so high as grades are not ranks and don't affect matchmaking that was fine when matchmaking was based on your rank. Now they just are supposed to show play time which is not the case as they just show now do you play in swf or how lucky you are.

100%!!! There should be no such thing as a depip for either side.
Getting my comment in now before they move this to Feedback and Suggestions.

I just hope for the removal of depipping even if you escape the game

No it's fine for survivor.
All you need to do is run the killer for 2 minutes without being caught, complete two generators by yourself, rescue 2 allies (which means your allies need to be worse than you but you need to be better than the killer - easy!) and escape. All things which are completely realistic to do in your average survivor game of DBD, especially in solo queue.
How do you get the killer to stop chasing you after you've run them for the requisite amount of time so you can do other objectives? I mean I don't know why I even have to explain it, but obviously you use morse code using a combination of crouching and flashlight clicking to communicate to the killer that they can stop chasing you since you maxed Evader.
Wanna avoid depipping? Also easy, just don't get facecamped after your first hook. Also something totally under your control as a survivor, it shouldn't be frustrating at all if you depip in iridescent ranks because someone thought it would be hilarious to play basement Bubba right after you managed to have a game like the one I described in the previous paragraph.
And in case it's not obvious I am using enormous amounts of sarcasm. Please fix pipping as survivor. I've stopped trying to get iri 1 as survivor every month because of how infuriating it is, I just do it on killer now because I at least have more control over the game.

BHVR could increase the standard for pipping or the number of pips required to reach iri 1, as long as depipping gets removed. Depipping is a horrible mechanic that made sense when emblems were for Ranks and matchmaking, but Grades are for a reward. Taking away our personal progress towards a reward because of bad matches which are out of our control sucks. So many RNG things that have nothing to do with skill can cause a depip.
If nothing else, BHVR knows lobby backfill puts you with players who are either way better or way worse than you. Even if all matches were with players in your skill level, things that are out of your control can still go wrong, but when fast matches are prioritized over fair matches, then depipping is just a slap in the face.

Yeah in killer at least I can somewhat manage it playing as sweaty as possible like they are still ranks... As survivor it is just out of control no matter how well you play you can still depip. But just on both sides depip standards should be lowered. I don't want to sweat like that on killer either. That's why I just give up after reaching iri 4 because reaching iri 1 requires you to 4K 10 games a row with 10+ hooks.

You likely know this but just responding to emphasize how stupid it is: you can depip in iridescent as survivor if you escape because the killer was either AFK or a basement Bubba and you just genrushed to get out as fast as possible.
The reason being because you never got chased and you never rescued/healed anyone, the game decides you didn't do enough, so you depip. Even though you survived.
Absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah back then when I used to play on swf we used to get gens done so quickly and escape that we just depipped many games... Grades punish you winning too quickly.

I'm just imagining how grading used to influence ranks.
Killer goes down a rank because he never caught anyone due to focusing too hard on one person for a chase.
Every survivor goes down a rank because they slammed gens, except for the one person being chased who could do literally nothing but run and vault for the game.
What a cool, well built system.

You can easily pip up against an afk killer tho? Especially if they have a macro
If you're depipping on an afk killer that isn't a cloaked wraith all game.. idk what to tell you except.. actually do what the emblems require you to do? The only one you can't is the altruism and that's only if they don't have macro

If the killer isn't running a macro and they're just holding still and not doing anything, the chase doesn't actually start. Even if it's not Wraith. Though yes, Wraith is a popular pick for killers who are just sitting around AFK.
If this happens in gold or below you probably won't depip. If it's in iridescent you probably will.
This shouldn't even be a thing to begin with so I don't know why you're trying to defend it.

There is no way to pip agains't AFK killer at best you can hope to safety pip that's it. Pipping system in this game needs to be reworked. Grades are not ranks and got nothing to do with matchmaking either so why it should be so damn hard to get one pip or to avoid depipping which is just luck. Grades just are supposed to show play time.

Lmao
So like, you never tried just hanging around the afk killer and not just genrushing and getting out as fast as possible? That's completely on you if you depip because you can literally pip up if you want to
The only exception is an afk wraith, even with insidious on any other killer you can still find them eventually because you can see them
Standing near killer = easy iri evader
Surviving the trial without being downed = obviously the easiest against an afk killer. Iri or gold, depending on whether or not if the killer has a macro and you need to get the attention of your team
Altruism (only applies if the killer has a macro): more difficult and heavily reliant on your team not being stupid and healing you slugged (in order to get their attention off of gens)
Lightbringer: pretty easy silver or gold, you don't want to genrush but you also want enough to get silver or gold, which is about 1 gen
What does this result in? Well, if the killer has a macro, easy double pip if your teammates aren't stupid. If no macro, then can get a safety pip or if you're lucky a single pip, but you should never be getting a depip from an afk killer lmao, its so easy to avoid that vs getting facecamped to death

Why are you trying to defend a system that is inherently flawed? Whether you can or can't pip against an afk killer doesn't change all the other problems depipping has.
1 -
I'm not, I don't like depipping at all
But saying that you can't depip against afk killer and complaining about them because of that, is simply not true
You're just not doing what the emblems require, the only one that is player determinant is the altruism
But yeah, depipping should definitely be gone ij this day and age

Tell that to my soloQ teammates they try to do gens as quickly as possible and just leave in that situation.
1 -
^ This. Every time I get an AFK killer, suddenly my teammates are rushing through the gens. If I'm lucky I can do a gen somewhere near the killer to up my Evader emblem, but mostly I'm screwed. I know to do gens, do bones, try for an exit gate, and hang out near the killer, but whether I have the opportunity to do those things is in my teammates' hands. I'm lucky as hell to black pip in those situations.
1 -
Yeah in that case you can't do anything but try your best to get evader and SOME lightbringer emblem so you safety pip
If the killer has a macro, you can also try getting slugged and hoping the team heals you since that will give you altruism, especially if done multiple times
