Made for this + Hope is busted
Apologies everyone if this has been talked about ad nauseam, but I stopped playing for quite a long stretch of time, and only recently picked the game back up again during the anniversary event.
I went to play my first killer game in months, which was Freddy as I like the character (which BTW I'm excited to hear that he's getting reworked), and not only is every survivor running Made for this, but half of them also have Hope equipped. Not sure if they were a SWF, but holy hell was it rough playing as an m1 killer. Made for this saw to it than not only were they making it to pallets and windows faster than I could catch up with them, but in many instances chases would take forever to initiate because of the speed boost. Why the hell isn't this on a timer? Why is this infinite?
Worse, once the final generator was done, the two survivors that had Hope were able to stack that on top of Made for this, meaning that I was only 5% faster, which is nuts. I appreciate that BHVR shook up the meta, but this new survivor meta is ridiculous. In it's current state, I will never again play an m1 killer, and I expect many others feel the same. I would start expecting to see a lot of blights and nurses again. 🫤

Made for this itself is actually ridiculously strong, basically counters literally everything killer has.

it's less than bloodlust stage 1

does it also counter blight, oni, nurse movement speeds? thats insane if so

How to destroy any video game meta:
- Take a constant variable (100% Survivor Speed) on which the whole game is based around (Loop Length, Exoustion perks, Killer speeds, Killer powers, etc.)
- Change the constant variable (103% Survivor Speed)
- Watch the chaos unfold

Sure. Bloodlust, pwyf, game afoot, skull merchant, power of two, breakout, agitation, dark theory, blood pact, hope, devour hope, NOED, machine learning, guardian, borrowed time, lithe, sprint burst, adren, balanced landing, overcome, background player, smash hit all destroyed this game. MfT came just too late to the party of totally and irreparably damaged game.
It doesn't matter, that 3% is one of the lowest number of all those perks. It's MfT that absolutely is the problem (even if it disables basically all the other exhaustion perks)...

Yes, it won't counter as much as it counter 4.4 or 4.6 M1 killers, but still counters them just fine too, that's literally what movement speed does.
Ah yes, so this perk almost counters basekit mechanics without even requiring as much effort as those mechanics, thanks for explaining yet another strength of made for this.

and yet bloodlust resets after hits, breaking pallets, losing chase for a few seconds, and many killer powers.
Maybe MfT should deactivate once a pallet is dropped or window vaulted?

MFT is busted. A constant eternal speed boost is insane in the hands of any but the most inept survivors.
The synergy with other perks is even more ridiculous.

I say, its about time survivors get something actually good. Survivors have taken a huge hit ever since the DS got nerfed. Nerfs boons, DS, DH, and more. They nerfed killer perks too, but even after the nerfs they are still pretty overpowered cough pain res. The biggest slap to the face was DH nerf. The devs obviously want us to hold W against these anti looping killers like knight/skull merchant, so I can't really complain much about MFT. MFT isnt even that good in the hands of average survivors. As for the hope combination, yeah its annoying to go up against, but at least that doesnt trigger until the late game.

I haven't faced it enough yet to really have a full opinion but I have to admit, Made for this is making me consider getting the new chapter as its dose look very strong.
For those making an "its still slower than blood lust" argument, sure it is but getting a chase to blood lust is kinda the survivor goal it typically means the killer has sunk too much time into the chase already and is losing momentum game wise.
I'd say a cap for made for this is probably inevitable simply because it does a lil too much for little to no cost.
Thematically it doesn't make a lot of sense either as while the threat of being stabbed with a machete would make you run hard and run fast, the actual act of getting stabbed with a machete would probably slow you down somewhat. But here its good to be injured, feels off somehow.
Now you are a thinker aren't you? 👍️
