Game keeps crashing, even on custom matches. Still an issue as of July 17
Platform: Microsoft Store PC. Graphic Driver: AMD version 23.7.1(Just updated today before all this happened)
Description: The game crashes midmatch without any warning, nor any real pattern. Three times today, my only 3 matches because I keep getting punished for something that isn't my fault. The game will just close completely
This has happened all of my matches today. And it's very upsetting to get punished when I have no control over it
UPDATE:
So about a week later, this is still happening. And I decided to test something. I played a custom match against bots with me as the killer. The game was running fine the whole match, I hooked a few. But as I was in a chase with a bot my game crashes again. So I struggle to see this as an internet connection issue

It still happened today. I hadn't been hooked all match and the exit gates were opened. So why would I DC? Seriously, can't the game detect with it's an actual disconnection and not a rage quit? Why am I getting punished for something I am not willingly doing?

Is it accompanied by the "Dedicated Server is not responding; disconnecting..." error message? I started a thread on that issue a bit before the event, which has been marked as "under review" for a while now. No indication of whether anything is actually being done about it though. https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/379080/dedicated-server-is-not-responding-disconnecting#latest

Whenever I boot it back up, and wait for the punishment to run out, I tried to go into another match. That would pop up so I just close the game and try later

Same issue here, I don't play DBD that often but tried to play today and the game crashed mid-match 2 times in a row when it has never done that before. MS Store version, AMD Adrenalin 23.7.1 on an RX 5700 XT. I suspect that this issue is caused by the AMD driver since that's the only thing that's changed since last time I played (other than the game version). As for the crash itself, it is instant, no error message or anything, not even in the Event Viewer.
OP, could you report what GPU you are using?

I have RX 5500 XT. This has never happened before this. Idk if it's related to the driver update or not since like you said that's the only thing that has changed as far as I know, but you're essentially having the exact same issue I'm having. Sudden crash, no error message, just suddenly looking at my background again

Update: Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the game, this BS is still happening. Really cool that I can't enjoy the Bloodhunt and am also throwing away my Terrormisu's

Same here!
I decided to update my AMD driver to 23.7.1. Ever since then my game would crash midgame as well. OMG i really thought I was the only one that was experiencing this issue.
Prior to this update, the game was running perfectly fine and I didn't have any issues.
I'm tempted to uninstall AMD drivers and use windows update.. But I use AMD to increase brightness and contrast because t he game is so dark.

I'm currently playing on the MS Store with a 5700. Again never had any issues prior to updating my AMD driver.

I just want to know how to fix it. Wish BHVR would at least comment on it. I'm missing so many things!

Can't you just roll back to the previous version, 23.5.2?

I manage to fix it!
I googled AMD drivers roll back. I'm now on 23.2.1. Now when i play the game doesn't crash.

I did as you suggested and when to version 23.2.1. However, while testing this with bots, my game lagged like crazy. It didn't crash fully, but the dedicated server stopped responding.
But in the following two matches, so far so good!

That's awesome! I sometimes 1/30 matches, my game and FPS drops dramatically. Even when I play other games but I'm very sure its because we're using outdate drivers.
I guess we'll just sit on this until there's a new AMD driver. But if the issue persists, rolling back may not be an option.

Can confirm this is still an issue as of today with the newest AMD driver version (23.7.2)

That's so bizarre. Until this gets fixed, just keep your driver downgraded

Just tried this today after installing 23.8.1, issue is still present.

That's so strange

I tested this a couple of days ago with the 23.10.1 driver and I managed to play a couple of games without any crashing, so it would seem that the issue has been fixed by now.

I rarely had problems till the Halloween update but since then it was fps drops and crashes more than I was used to. I was on 23.8.2 updating to 23.10.2
Fingers crossed.
