Stop Forcing Killers to Finish Games Against 4 Disconnect Bots
Survivors use disconnecting as a punishment against Killers that they don't like, or to just skip a round.
Killers shouldn't be forced to play out matches when there are no players left in the trial: Give killers the option to disconnect with no penalty (and let them know this option is available) when there are no humans left in the game.
If I wanted to be playing against bots, I'd be queuing for Custom matches.
Since the Disconnect bots have been added, I'm tired of being forced to sit around and wait for 4 AI bots to finish all 5 generators because an entire SWF decided to instantly disconnect from the game because they think it's funny or they want to observe me chasing bots in spectate mode like a zoo animal (which I'm aware is being removed in the Alien update) or because they hate the killer or for whatever reason.

I literally had a 3-man SWF disconnect against Pinhead and it was just me and the killer as the only real people in the match LOL; it's absurd and I knew it was going to become commonplace.

why are you waiting for the bots to finish 5 gens, just end the game quick, bots are so easy. If anything the DC penalty should be increased
5 -
It's effort for nothing basically. I couldn't be bothered. Maybe if I were doing some challenge...
It's so boring to play against them. You can't mind game them. You just have to brute force every loop.
It's better for me just watch some videos/stream meanwhile.

Not always. If you have a stealth killer or a killer who 'moves' through different space like Spirit, Knight or Singularity, reaching a bot can be difficult, because they always ping your exact location (including things like which biopod you're viewing from) and hold W as soon as you begin you approach.
This leads to long, drawn out, boring chases, until you can get them stuck on a short unsafe loop that they refuse to leave.

I don’t want to be forced to pick between either option! Just let me leave
4 -
Agreed. I don't want to play bots either.

okay, claiming the bots to be hard really says something about your skill. None-the-less you can't force people to play the game if they don't want to. BHVR's not going to do anything about it just like they won't do anything about if a killer downs a survivor and face camps their hook to make sure they don't pip or play the game cuz they targeted them. BHVR barely did anything about the cheaters. Cheater gets banned, they just load up one of their other 100 keys. We banned 200 000 cheaters, cool so when you made the game free on Epic store they literally made hundreds of accounts to stockpile you literally banned the same hundreds of cheaters over 100 times each

Nobody is complaining because it's hard we're just saying we don't want to be forced to do it
You're saying nobody's being forced to play the game but that's exactly what's happening to killer players who have to face 4 DC bots

Let's say it happens in the next game or later that day. You're saying I should take a 15 minute DC penalty or be forced to sit around and do nothing by myself for five minutes while I wait for bots to figure out how to finish the game?
You'd really rather people have to pick between getting trapped into games with nobody in them or be forced to take matchmaking bans rather than just... let them leave?
You've yet to propose a reason why the game NEEDS to stay the way it is when it would be incredibly beneficial in every way with no downsides to just let players leave from these matches.

Yeah. Four DC's should just end the match in the killer's favour. No clue why BHVR thinks anyone wants to play against bots. I don't even like having them on my team.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the game needs to end immediately - many upset Survivors used to DC to deny Killers achievements or Challenges, like the Evil Incarnate achievement that requires Myers to Tombstone all 4 survivors.
My ultimate goal is to avoid any situation where a player can use disconnecting to successfully punish another player.
I would prefer giving killers the option to leave with no penalty, if they so choose, unless they want to finish getting their 4K or getting their challenge done, etc.

This isn't a problem just affecting me, this affects everyone who plays Killer.
I disagree with the argument that we should leave Killer players to suffer by getting trapped in human-less matches should a full team of survivors decide to leave at once, no matter what the reason for the survivors' DC's are.
Every player deserves a fair and fun experience, whether they're a Survivor player or a Killer player: At the end of the day, every player, no matter what team they play for, is a player.

It seems like you don't want BHVR to change this because you like the idea of "punishing" killers you don't like playing against by having the whole team disconnect. If the game turns into 4 bots, it should allow the killer to leave match with no penalty and no rewards just like a custom game, since that's essentially what the game turns into. It doesn't affect the survivors at all, they can still DC even with this change...

You could get back to before.
Imagine doing adept, killed 3 and last survivor DC. There are only bots left so game ends.
But it should definitely end if there 4 bots, alive.

please give us 4k instantly, when a killer leave everyone get instant 7000 I thought that it was common sense, happened 3-4 times to me and bots can actually loop for a while with their wallhacks it's very boring

I accept this discussion. The problem that if a survivor disconnects, it's not fair to put a bot and have the killer continue the game with bots, just because they leave in 3 people. To solve the problem, if it is a disconnection for crashes, you could put the function to reconnect to the match. (If the bot has not already died). However, if the disconnection is voluntary, it is okay for the survivor group to be in 3 (compared to putting a bot).
Obviously if it's a public match, if I want to play with bots instead, they can decide to play in the custom matches.
In public match plays with bot is totally boring.

There isn't a good way to distinguish what are crashes and people just leaving.
You end up in a situation where you're designing a system to only check for if someone clicks a menu button, but if someone just ALT F4's the problem isn't really addressed.
They should just end the game when it has to spawn in 3 bots. At that point it's joever anyway.

I hope to see you in my matches, OP, me and my team always get stomped, with rarely more than 1 dc

Some games have detect if people just leaving (Alt+f4, leave a match). If there are some crashes issues (where the programm tell a crash report to report these issue.). These games are Valorant, Riotgames.

Yes some games can detect an alt+F4 or a force close.
It is impossible however, to detect a player physically unplugging their ethernet cable.

I'm still often getting matches where all remaining humans are either dead or gone (DC'ed) and I'm left to still be forced to play out full Killer matches by myself with no other humans in the lobby. At this point my time is literally being better spent going AFK and scrolling on my phone rather than playing the game just so the matches end quicker.
Removing the ability to spectate after disconnecting has cut down on the frequency of this happening, but it still happens from time to time.
Please, we shouldn't be penalized for leaving an online match that has no humans in it!

lol @ at the people saying bots aren’t hard, as if they don’t have a constant and instant reaction to your location. Hard? Not really, but it’s annoying to just have to brute through every loop because there is no mind gaming, and they will optimally decide when to throw a pallet.

Not all bots are, tbh. i would say that 50% are better than actual players, but thats is beside the point.
Killers should be given the option to end the game if there are only bots left.

Completely agree with the Original Post. I had a match as Skull Merchant and got Hawkins, all 4 survivors dc'd and I was made to play against them (I had a challenge and a daily to do with her). It's such an oversight that the Killer player is just trolled like that by a disconnect.
It's so blatant that the Devs only care about Survivor enjoyment at this point and have done for years. Any time something is unfun or unfair for Survivors they look into it and change it right away or asap. The fact this has been an issue since Bots were introduced is ridiculous. Pull your finger out, Devs, and start loving your other child.

Still getting these kinds of matches, nearly a year later. Bumping this topic/idea.
I don't see a reason players need play out matches against exclusively bots - no more points would be earned if I didn't do anything else anyway, and any match that has a DC is already discounted from affecting MMR.
Please consider lifting the DC penalty for Killers DC'ing against bots.

It's much faster to just let the bots do the gens than to hook them all until they die if the DC happens early while playing most killers.

Imagine DC penalties starting at 15 mintues (Currently at 1 min)
This won't solve people throwing games by going afk, however.0 -
No, it'll worsen the cases of people going afk and such, or throwing on hook. The match would end quicker, but the Killer would get less points. But I guess they wouldn't care about that...

it's basically free bps, but I do agree that dcing/giving up is getting really bad but the game is also really unforgiving and people probably aren't in the mood to sweat (which this game practically demands both sides to do).
there are so many situations which can leave the otherside helpless when things line up for both killer and survivor, I feel the focus needs to be there, making the game more forgiving.0 -
Mhmm, sounds about right.
