Freddy Buff/Rework Idea
Replaces Dream Projection with Dream Cloak
Press the Secondary Power button to activate Dream Cloak for 15 seconds.
While cloaked Freddy gains the following benefits:
- Freddy is completely invisible to all survivors when further than 16 metres
- Sleeping survivors do not hear the lullaby
- The aura of all sleeping survivors are revealed to Freddy
- While looking at a generator, press and hold the secondary ability button to perform Dream Projection (functions like it does now)
- Upon completing Dream Projection, all awake survivors within 16 metres of the generator are pulled into the Dream World
- After 15 seconds or after performing a basic attack or Dream Projection, Dream Cloak ends (the length can be modified with add ons)
Dream Cloak’s cool-down is the same as Dream Projection is currently and functions the same way with it being reduced the more survivors are asleep.
The idea of this is to give the Dream World a bit more of a threat. Not knowing whether Freddy is coming for you while he knows exactly where you are might encourage people to actually want to wake up.
The Dream Projection change making survivors fall asleep is to help Freddy have more control on when survivors go to sleep and give Dream Cloak some benefits if used while everyone is awake and maybe give him a bit more of a skill ceiling.
Of course his add ons would also need to be reworked to take this new power into account.

He still has some invisibility currently but it’s only when further than 32 metres.
But the idea of this was to add some of the old Freddy back without taking the current Freddy away from those who like it.

yeah but it is bad invisibility. you can use his purple black pill bottle add-on to reduce invisibility to 24 meters. it is still not good. I have used it with monitor&abuse in the past, but freddy is not a good killer. I hope whatever rework they give him makes him fun and unique killer to play. i miss his old form because it was such a unique killer design.

Swing all survivors auras for that long is kind of problematic when you use it mid chase to "mind game" because you see them exactly and can come from an unexpected angle, that's not too good in my mind...

Good point. Just make it so it is only when outside of a 8 or 16 metre range to prevent that.

And maybe give it a notification so people don't try to hide against it.

Not sure what you mean by notification.
If you mean that the survivors know when they are visible, then I disagree. That would just make the stealth pointless.

I really did wish they found a better way to rework/buff freddy due to his old power being so unqiue & made him so much more fun. So I like what u did! It reminds me a mix more of old freddy & new freddy which is what they should go for! I miss old freddy sm I wish I was here in the game before they reworked him

I like this reminds me of the Chucky in the PTB. He would still be weak with these changes, but it is still interesting.

I wish they had found a good mix too. Old Freddy was so unique and now he just feels so bland.
I still don't see why it would be needed. It's like adding a notification that Ghostface is now in stealth. It's supposed to let him ambush survivors, if they got a notification then they would know he is coming and just hold W or run to a loop.

It is not about the stealth but about the 15 seconds of aura reading on every survivor in the game... If you don't know the killer has this up you might want to try mindgames but it would do absolutely nothing.

It’s not on every survivor. It’s just those who are asleep and waking up is not that difficult.
Being asleep should be dangerous. Right now there is literally no point to waking up. But if this becomes too oppressive then sure, add a sound cue for when he activates it.

Acceptable, but I would say that beiing awake basically negates more than half of his power so it is pretty favorable to be awake instead of asleep.

With these changes, probably. Right now his Snares are so useless there’s no need to wake up and waking up just wastes time.
Being awake is technically better but being asleep isn’t really that much different. If you are awake, he’s an M1 killer with zero power. If you’re asleep, he’s a weaker Clown and Clown isn’t even good. Even if survivors were permanently asleep he would still be bottom tier because of how bad the dream world is. Heading to a clock or failing a skill check isn’t really worth it when being asleep isn’t that bad to begin with.
I just think the dream world needs to have some threat to it. I’m sure there are plenty of better ways to go about it then my idea, and if you have any ideas I would love to hear them :)

Yeah sure I mean you could give survivors some form of hallucinations? So for example seeing random Freddys walk by in the distance or even fake survivors for a few seconds, you could have different stages of the dream state similar to what doctor has, but they would build up over time, so you have some build in slowdown to be forced to get the clocks.
I would however like there to be a skillfull component to him, because right now he just puts stuff on the floor and that is neither interesting nor really skillfull to use, I just don't know what exactly... :/

Well, I think they are buffing him or reworking him again. It seems like they are much better with the way they got about things so I'm hoping they can do him right. If they go back to his old power they would need some fixing up to do though! :) If they did chucky and alien justice they can fsure do Freddy justice now too

Definitely agree with giving him something skillful. Not only is he weak, there is no way to even play him well because his skill ceiling is so low.
Yeah his old power would need some updating to fit into the current state of the game but I think it would be possible.
Chucky and Xeno got so much love put into them, giving Freddy just a little bit of that love could make him incredible!

I wonder how they would do him. What happens if it was fake totems, generators, etc? giving more threats in his dream world but slighlty harder to get out. I would like if he still had to put people in the dream world though. If the dream realm was a big threat. Just some ideas idk how they would play out though :) I think putting skill and fear into him would be perfect. Also, if they were ever to change his chase theme it would be amazing to have the dream attack from the oringal film if they could ever get that liscene version of freddy! There's so many things they can do for him. I'm hoping they really can make him terryifing

Yeah Freddy has so much potential and somehow we got stuck with him being the least interesting killer to play.
Dream Attack would be an amazing chase theme! Even giving him custom chase and lobby themes would make him much more enjoyable to play.

He really does! I would rather him be weak and fun on both sides then strong and boring to play. Just imagine if they got robert england (with voice acting!) and had a mori like where he pulls johnny depp into the bed. If they can focus on the fun aspect for him he's gonna be one of the better killers. I know they can though because they made chucky so fun on both sides while being true to chucky. Probably one of the best adpations we got of a character!

I’ve always wanted Glen’s death to be his Mori! Pinhead already pulls them underground, so it’s not impossible for them to do something and have the blood eruption at the end.
Giving him voice acting would be a huge upgrade. At this point I don’t even mind if it’s the remake voice, just having him taunt the survivors would be enough.

I agree :)) Glenn's death would be so much cooler then the one we got now. Maybe if we did get robert england it would be a special mori for him <3 But I know how hard it is to get the orignal liscene
