Please buff Dissolution
I'm one of these three killers who run this awful perk. Why? Because i love this concept and trying really hard to get value from it from release. But with 20 seconds of action it's almost impossible.
You close the distance between you and survivor for about 12-15 seconds after the hit and you have 5-8 seconds to make it work. And even if all stars come together, action of this perk will end right before survivor jumps into the pallet. EACH. FREAKING. TIME.
Only once i had a lot of value from this perk on old Eyrie Pallet City. This perk helped 4 times in this match, but it seems there were new survivors, who didn't even know how this perk works. But usually it's one, maximum two uses per match even on its best users like Slinger, Clown or Spirit. I mean, if this perk worked once, it's already a victory, because quite often it just lies dead weight.
I'll probably put this perk on the shelf for today, because it's fun to use, but its inconstancy just doesn't allow me to occupy a slot with it, even if I just bring a meme build, let alone if I want to win. Will be glad to bring it back in my builds if devs will decide to make its action 30 seconds.

Survivors don't need a warning that Dissolution is active.

Let's not buff an annoying anti gameplay crutch perk.
1 -
That + 25 second activation and it's good.
3 -
Sure, let's not, I bet everyone just happy with old good 4 slowdowns.
5 -
i would 100% rather another slowdown over playing against dissolution

I use the perk on Knight and I think it’s decent on him.
Dissolution still needs to last longer and it would be on a good spot overall. I used to use it on Wraith but the introduction of MFT kind of made it hard to get consistent value.
Might go back to it now that MFT has been nerfed.

Time should be 25 seconds (to compensate the cleansing of the weapon) and should not appear down to let you know that killer is running that, the value (if soloQ) should be for each survivor at least once, in each chase, by taking them with that by surprise.. But well, they decided to let yall know you are running that.

Ah, yes, Dissolution, the perk that is such an amazing crutch that nobody uses it.
5 -
This perk showing as a debuff in survivor's HUD is like DS showing a debuff when the killer is standing on top of the survivor to go for a grab. It doesn't makes sense.
At minimum, it need that to be changed.

Just because something is weak doesn't mean it's not unhealthy for gameplay. Something a large amount of dbd players seem to not understand
1 -
No, the perk shouldn't be a free down the first time its used. The entire perk should be outright scrapped
0 -
This is not free down, lol. I don't agree notification for survivors shouldn't be there, but this perk is literally Dredge's power. You see it and then run to the next loop unless you are cornered. Also Lithe counters this perk completely even in corners.
1 -
"But this perk isliterally dredge's power" Yes, that's why it's unhealthy. Lets not add a perk that forces you to hold W or die, a thread that is already extremely disliked when it's the entire killer power. Let alone just 1 perk slot.
1 -
Then DS should not be a free escape, and should warn the killer when the survivor is going to grab have it active. Same with endurance, should not be a free health state and warn the killer that the survivor has endurance. Deliverance should also not be a free unhook, so the killer should be warned so it doesn't hook that survivor...
Can you see the flaw of your logic?
2 -
I do enjoy using it on wraith with serpent ash and beast ash. Not gonna say it's good but it's hilarious to have them vault serpent uncloaks you and you get the speed boost.

But ds isn't a free escape and is a one time use perk with heavy restrictions and punishes unhealthy gameplay. Dissolution triggers nearly every chase and forces the survivor to play in a boring way. They're in no way comparable at all. A better example would be ftp+buckle up which is also an extremely broken set up and should nerfed asap.
1 -
You're missing the point, obviously. The point being that a "trap" perk should not warn the victim about it's existence. Simple as that.
2 -
It would feel incredibly cheap for survivors if it had no warning in its current state.
For it to be balanced with no warning, it would need to be a lot harder to activate/much more situational than it is now.
2 -
There are far "cheaper" killer perks with no warning; Devour Hope and NOED come to mind. And it doesn't need to be made harder, because it's already hard, which is why no one uses it.
1 -
Those perks are hexes and only activate under very strict conditions. And survivors get warned about devour before you get to mori anybody. I’d hardly call them comparable to Dissolution.
It’s not hard to activate Dissolution. It doesn’t get much use because it’s inconsistent and often doesn’t get actual value when it is active. If I was going to buff it I’d just increase it to 25 seconds instead.

You need to first, hurt the survivor, then wait 3 seconds so if the survivor already has a dropped pallet available and use it immediately it won't work, and then you have 20 seconds to force the survivor to drop the pallet and use it, and taking in count most survivors would simply get out of a loop the moment the pallet is dropped and go to the next, I can guarantee you that even without the warning this perk is one of the most conditioned killer perks there is.
The only killer I got to use it successfully at some degree is with Trickster after hurting the survivor with knives in a loop, as if the survivor doesn't notice you have it they expect for you to keep throwing knives so they would stick around the loop even with the pallet dropped. But the moment you get one of those survivors that greed pallets at infinitum or have noticed the debuff you won't be able to activate it a single time in the match.
But even without all this, again, a "trap" perk type should never warn the other side of their existence. Just for the sake of giving another example, Blast Mine should warn the killer that is active in the generator he is about to kick using your logic.

I wasn't comparing the immediate kill of Devour Hope to Dissolution, I was comparing the Exposed effect. Survivors aren't warned about that, often until it is too late and someone is insta-downed. That's pretty cheap, far cheaper than the finicky pallet break of Dissolution that, as the above post said, is rare to actually get to activate in the first place due to the 3 second delay and the limited amount of time it's active.
0 -
But the thing is with dissolution is that you don't need to actually get a survivor to vault a pallet to get value from it. It completely removes your ability to play dropped pallets.
0 -
wait, they do????
1 -
When Dissolution is active, the perk icon appears on the survivors' HUD, warning them that if they fast-vault a pallet, it will break.
0 -
yeah, I found out a couple of day later after commenting. It's so lame... They need to remove that compeltely
0 -
Chases ending so entirely outside of your control is lame. Blood favor and dissolution should never be good. Steak is right.
