The sudden enhancement of Thrill of the Hunt further widened the gap between PT and solo.
The meta in the latest patch can be dealt with by using voice chat to prioritize certain people for treatment or creating a member in charge of totem destruction, but I feel this is unhealthy because it is very difficult for a solo player to deal with.
If you play Killer, you will feel intense stress when a player who could have been dismissed with one more hook suddenly isn't & OtR is used again, and if you play Survivor, dealing with totems and slugging is difficult and stressful if you don't have VC on.

It's very obviously an oversight, and not something that the devs intended. Pretty sure it will be reverted.
Misunderstanding the effect of cumulated percentages is one of the most common math mistakes. Based on how it was phrased in the patch notes, the dev who changed the number probably intended to buff Thrill by +20%. But in effect, it ends up being a +120% buff, leading to 330% longer totems in total.
Now I won't blame BHVR for the math, I've seen so many people do this same exact mistake that I've basically stopped using percentages, I prefer to use ratios when possible eg. phrase it as "1.2x faster" or "1.2x slower" instead of "20% slower". However what's still very questionable here is that the person who tweaked the number did not test this change - you literally just need to equip the perk and try to cleanse a totem to realize there's a problem.

It doesn't actually appear to be an oversight, and besides - Hexes needed OSMETHING to make them viable. This does that. Are we seriously complaining that Killers aren't using gen regression besides Ruin to make games not be 10 minutes of gens popping to and fro? Is this really how low we've stooped, complaining about Hexes of all things?
Are Killers allowed to have anything good and strong? Ever? Let Killers have Hexes be strong for all I care, if Survivors can have their strong perks so can Killers. Besides, you get points for the cleansing anyway.

The problem is spending 47 seconds (over half a gen) is incredibly ridiculous, especially for solo queuers. Combine this with killers who can defend totems very well (Knight, Artist, Spirit, etc) it's just incredibly problematic even if someone has counterforce

hex can also be gen defence. you can run ruin+Hex:plaything+Hex:penti+Thrill of the hunt and get a lot of game-delay out of your perks.
i don't think it's oversight because it is somewhat coincide to buff thrill of the hunt to indirect buff devour hope, a perk that ignores hook states while also releasing a perk called shoulder of burden to allow survivors to free juggle hook-states outside of killer's control. it might be that they buffed the perk so that devour hope can counter shoulder of burden because previous iteration of hex perks is garbage/too weak as survivor could freely removes hexes very quickly without little to no thought process resulting the killer having 0 perks in the trial. Like there is reason why hex perks are 1 time cleanse effects. they're like…. suppose to powerful and difficult to remove. The dev were balancing hex perks as if they were survivor boon perks that you can freely remove and infinitely replace as killer. now they're game-changing perks like developer intended the perks to be.

No, we aren't. Its merely non-biased minds pointing out an imbalance in a recent change. But do tell us more!
Now I feel this was bait, but we'll see lol

Do you seriously think they would more than double the effect of Thrill of the hunt without even trying it on PTB? And do you think they would phrase such a massive buff as "reduced speed by 14% per totem (was 9%)" in an obscure part of the patch note?
The dev intended it to be a 70% increase in duration, not a 70% decrease in speed. We've seen them do this mistake multiple times with killer add-ons. (A 70% decrease in speed means 330% duration).

Yes. We are complaining about hexes AGAIN. They have been a problem before. Thrill is overtuned and destroys soloq right now. It's a buff that should have been tested before going live.
"you get points for cleansing anyway" this legitimately made me laugh. I'm so glad to have 4k bp more, while losing to a Doctor at 4 gens remaining.
Also, if your having a problem with 10min matches, you can gladly take my matches. They are closer to 5min.

Even for the average pub swfs it's difficult to counter this as the time required to simply cleanse one totem is more than half of a gen. For soloq it's nearly impossible. This buff literally reintroduce the same problem that old undying had. Totems are becoming essentially unbreakable unless the entire team is throwing the game to focus solely on totem cleansing.

My question is why does it matter when the Devs clearly want this game to be not about winning all the time anyway? In fact I bet if you boosted Surv BP gains and just fixed issues like slugging (Killers hate doing it, Survivors hate being it) instead of nerfing perks AGAIN as a bandaid fix?
Your matches are 5 minutes you say? Well then, you should be supporting perks that make them last the intended 10-15 minutes. Perks like this one.0 -
No. I support healthy gameplay. Slowdown that comes naturally. There are also healthy slowdown / regression perks. Making totems take forever, something that hurts soloq exponentially more than swf, is not healthy in the slightest.

As someone who often play solo, I wholeheartedly agree!

It doesn't seem to be an oversight.
Yes, quite frankly I do. Whether or not that's a good decision remains to be seen and will probably get fixed in a hotfix. Just use anti-hex perks for now.

And they've had weaker arguments before, for nerfing weaker stuff, so why should we listen to them now? It just seems like another anti-killer rallying cry. People just need to learn how to counter stuff instead of instantly jumping to the nerf hammer for safety. They still don't have a refute to the simple fact that killers can't be everywhere at once. How is he defending a totem all match? Do you just not do gens in the meantime? Are you pressuring him at all, or just letting him do whatever he wants? Because if that's the case, they would have lost to any killer/build anyway.

That's probably why they nerfed Lifeguard Whistle…

Totem cleansing builds are on the rise to counter the meta. If its handlers are dealt with, the entire game is balanced against it because it can be destroyed with no problem. The problem is that survivors who have become the top meta and are not aware of it are still lurking in online matches.
