In-Game Tournament section
I'm sure this has been spoken about before especially when thinking about the comp scene but I was thinking DBD needs a tournament section similar to Rocket League where you can sign up as solo or a team, be paired up with 4 other people (one signs up or is chosen as killer), and you matchmake against others teams in your bracket.
You can have some general rules established like the comp scene where iri is banned and can also ban a perk(s) and/or a killer(s) like Overwatch and Marvel Rivals bans certain heroes.
I don't think DBD has the player base count like Rocket League so you can have sign up periods when there is enough people in your server region(s) or simply just open them in the afternoon for that time zone (maybe on weekends?).
Any downsides?

I would welcome a tournament mode but altering the rules like in the niche comp scene is lame as hell. I want to play official Dead by Daylight, not a few sweaty players' alternative vision of the game.

Understandable. Im not too familiar with the comp scene but the way the game is discussed, I just figured people might think a no holds situation could be a slippery slope.

Do you know who would win these tournaments? Cheaters. In DBD there is no way to watch the played match, there are no patrols for bans based on reports, there is not even balance.
