throwable bear traps for trapper
I was playing Trapper and I thought he wasn't very strong because he has to take time to place his traps and therefore use his power, while all the other killers can use their powers from the start of the game.
So I imagined Trapper being able to (for example, once every 30 seconds) throw a trap about ten meters away that would automatically activate when it hits the ground. This would keep Trapper's playstyle intact while allowing him to be a little better, in addition to creating more skill for this killer because he could throw the trap in front of the survivors to block them.
Obviously, this mechanic would have to be well balanced so as not to be too strong, for example, by activating the ground trap only after a short time, like 2 seconds, to prevent the survivors from having time to react.
What do you think? I think it would save Trapper time while increasing his abilities. (Oh, and also remove the randomness when you have to resist to escape a trap because it breaks the dynamic of the PvP game.)

Absolutely disagree with this proposal. He is weak but he can shutdown zones and is still fun to play. The last thing we need is Trapper suddenly becoming a range killer. It would completely kill his character identity because Trappers would be able to get so much value out of such a change, that this new power in chase would basically become his main power.
Far better would be to let him start and hold at least 3 traps at a time. Also make his traps less RNG by making it so survivors can't just escape traps the first time. Nothing is worse than a survivor getting caught and they get out 2 seconds later before you can get anywhere near them.

10 meters is too far, but I could absolutely see them giving him a way to place traps without having to sit still and go through the long setting animation in exchange for a much longer arming time (so if you're chasing someone they can still use the tile for ~20 seconds or whatever the arming time might be).

I don't want throwable traps for Trapper.

Just give him a dash attack. That'll fix everything.
