I last played on Tuesday. I'm a low MMR killer as it is, but that night, I was getting MURDERED. SWF after SWF after SWF...I was getting matched up with teams and players I had NO BUSINESS playing against in the first place, and the repeated losses weren't getting me any better matches, just more of the same. Very…

This. As killer, I find that, more often than not, I go from getting easy 4ks straight to getting absolutely crushed. Rarely is there an in-between that feels balanced, where both kills and escapes feel well-earned.
-
I'm not claiming it's fabricated, but it does beg the question: where are they? Why do they need you to speak for them? Are they incapable of speaking up for themselves? And do you truly not realize that the absolute silence from the very demographic you're claiming to defend just makes your case appear more superficial…
-
The biggest issue for me is that the level of outrage simply isn't warranted here. At the end of the day, this is a minor business decision, a cash grab that will only net them a brief surge of revenue, and yet people are acting like this is some villainous plot concocted for the sole purpose of making everybody miserable.…
-
Ah, I see what you did there. 😉👍
-
I appreciate your restraint. 🙂
-
It's like staying in a loveless marriage until someone better comes along, instead of having the stones to just go through with the divorce. 😂🤣
-
Happy enough with a "crap game?" Sounds like you have pretty low standards. 😂
-
You must have missed the "Or don't consume product" option. 😉
-
But see, in your example, your target is a demographic with under-developed decision-making skills and an inability to visualize life more than 24 hours into the future. In the present situation, we're talking about grown-ass adults. Do you mean to equate people susceptible to FOMO with having child-like minds incapable of…
-
Or don't consume product. Imagine that. 😉
-
What could possibly be more hyperbolic than a fear of missing out?
-
But...they'll be back next season. Plenty of time to put money aside for what you can't get the first time around, right? Here's what I sincerely want to know: what terrible thing will happen if you can't get everything you want before the end of the season? How exactly will your life be negatively impacted if you can't…
-
I'm talking about the kind where all the DLC content, skins, and everything are behind a paywall with an annual cost that can equal the cost of the game itself.
-
And that's what's amusing about this whole situation. You've already vilified BHVR because their product doesn't perform to your expectations (plays just fine for me, and what bugs are in the game aren't worth getting heated over), and now you're mad at their business practices...and yet HERE YOU ARE. If you think the game…
-
We're comparing EA and BHVR because you have a skewed perspective of how gloriously wealthy you think BHVR is. They're a small company trying to grow, and that requires more revenue. This is hardly the dirtiest way they could've chosen. Imagine if they had tried to implement some sort of Season Pass scheme? And you're…
-
EA makes $1 billion dollars ANNUALLY off of the Madden franchise alone, and you think BHVR making $300 million is "astronomical?" EA is your Scrooge McDuck, my friend.
-
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot BHVR was a mega-company like EA, and they're all rolling around naked in piles of cash and lighting cigars with $100 bills. Gimme a break.
-
And I'm sure that's what BHVR was thinking when they made the decision to build the Toronto studio and acquire the developers in Seattle. They can't live off of DbD forever, but launching new IPs while maintaining current ones requires expanding the operation. Just the development stage of a new IP alone can cost untold…
-
Even if you wait to stack more money, you can't fund expansion with a static pile of cash. You still need to increase revenue and bring in new money to pay your additional employees, utility costs, property leases, etc. No matter which way you slice it, company growth = additional expenses = need for greater revenue.
-
Acquiring a studio, building a studio, and increasing your workforce involved taking on increased expenses to maintain that growth, especially when it comes to payroll. How do you think they're gonna pay for all that?
-
This is not the crusade you think it is. We're not talking about alcoholics and junkies being baited with booze and drugs. News flash: ALL of us miss out on a variety of assets and opportunities EVERY SINGLE DAY of our lives. It's nothing new. It's nothing special. It's about prioritizing. It's about making choices. And at…
-
I have empathy for schizophrenics. I have empathy for cancer victims. I have empathy for poor people living on the streets who can't find a warm place to live during the winter. I DO NOT - NOR WILL I EVER - have empathy for someone who is afraid of "missing out" because the entire collection of seasonal digital skins…
-
I have ADHD. I have poor impulse control. I take medication. I went to therapy. I learned to manage my poor impulse control. BHVR is NOT responsible for the mental health of the consumer. That is the consumer's responsibility. The entitlement and complete lack of self-accountability surrounding this discussion is…
-
It's been SIX. YEARS. If you've been here a while and haven't gotten the old seasonal outfits, clearly they are not a priority. If you're new to the game, you'll likely understand the concept of seasonal items being available for a limited time.
-
The funniest part is, after all the outrage, and after all the tears, you folks will STILL throw money at BHVR and feed their marketing strategy, because apparently, something HORRIBLE will happen if you don't collect the entire set - you'll MISS OUT!!!
-
Not everyone.
-
"In certain cases?" Which cases? And who makes that call? Bars cut off drunks because of codes and laws, and because of the provable fact that alcohol poisoning will kill you. I'm still waiting to hear about the scores of people who've died because they missed out on a limited skin.
-
And that accomplishes what, exactly? Other than giving the alcoholic and the gambler the notion that THEY don't have a problem, it's those nasty businesses who are to blame?
-
Blame and accountability are two completely different concepts. But per your comment, should we then blame bars for making alcoholics? Casinos for making gamblers? At what point does a business bear responsibility for the mental health of the consumer, and at what point does a consumer bear responsibility for their mental…
-
And placing the sole blame at the foot of the company dulls any sense of urgency for individuals to seek the help they need. How is that any better?
-
I think you're trying to vilify me, but you're doing a terrible job of it. I said they need therapy more than skins, as in mental health should take priority. I literally place value of mental health over profit in my sentence structure. I ask you again, how is that dehumanizing?
-
Do tell me how suggesting people seek to better their mental well-being is dehumanizing. This should be interesting.
-
This. All day.
-
It sounds to me that some people are susceptible to FOMO...
-
Yeah, I'm one of those guys who like a direct answer to a direct question. I'm weird like that. The fact that you can't (or won't) answer it just tells me that YOU'RE the one looking for something to complain about. Best go get some ice for that butt. 😉
-
Let me ask you a question: why do you care what other people think of themselves? Why is skill such an important and tender subject for you? If I do something a certain way, and it produces results, what's to dissuade me from continuing such behavior? Absolutely nothing. I'm going to keep doing it. Why? Because I don't…
-
You didn't answer the question: what is the broken mechanic?
-
Humor me: and exactly which mechanic do you believe is broken?
-
Wow, first killer lunges, now this? You have issues with killers in general, it would seem.
-
"Humans have an uncanny ability to find the easiest path." Work smarter, not harder. 😉
-
Myers. I get a rush every time I hit tier 3 and that theme music kicks in. It's addictive. 😂
-
This. I'm a Myers main. My slow movement and need to stalk up my power are HUGE early game handicaps, making gen perks practically a necessity. I am NOT about to mess with my perk build just because I see four of anything in the lobby. HOWEVER, knowing what survivors are bringing will affect the way I play the match. 4…
-
For me, solo queue is just a machine for grinding bloodpoints, no more, no less. If the team looks like it's actually trying to do something, I'll pitch in, but if they're just clowning the killer, farming hooks, etc, I just keep to myself and try to get as many bps out of the match as possible (push gens, open chests,…
-
Same energy as grade school kids getting tilted over a game of tag. 😂
-
I don't know how anyone's getting any fun out of this game right now. If I'm playing killer, it's a sweat-fest...if I'm playing survivor, it's "oh wow...I'm against Ghostface...again..."
-
Lol, whatever.
-
My fault for making a comeback as Trapper after 5 minutes AFK with a controller malfunction? Yeah. TOTALLY my fault. 🙄 What part of "forced dc" (as in none of them were done by me) does your tiny mind not comprehend?
-
Yep, on a PS4 Pro.
-
Some of these posts, I swear...why are people still playing this game if it makes them so miserable???
